We have been here for several months now and it is worth the commute from Willoughby Spit. We tried several other ATA locations before settling in here. Master R is amazing with the kids.

This place a scam. Please do not all for it. I signed my son for class. He is 6 and they just tossed him in to it. He said he did not want to anymore. So we called several times to stop payment with very little success. It has been almost 4 months and I still have not received my money for the class or the bag. Now the send me e-mails that they going to take me to court for payment. They won't anwser any calls at the billing department or the the studio. So now I have to get a lawyer to get the $271.00 they owe me for the bag and monthly payment they took. So please don't let this happen to you too.

If I could give 0 stars I would. DO NOT go to the business EVER! On Feb 27, 2019 my son did the "free" trial class. At the end a contract was shoved in our faces to sign. Which we stupidly did. My son refused to ever go to a class because it scares him, so we requested to cancel our contract on March 3. After numerous calls and emails the business manager finally responded back on March 19th that our contract had been cancelled and the money we had already paid them was accepted as payment in full. So imagine my surprise when on April 12 they drafted our account again for $137. I have been trying to call and email to get a refund but have hot heard anything back. NOTHING. I cannot believe they treat people this way and run their "business " this way. They have stolen money from us and are nothing but crooks. Dont waste your time.

Our son began his Tae Kwon Do training at the age of 5. Football was my first choice...wife said, "no!"
Chief Master Thomas's instructors at the time, which included Mr. C. Gunsel, did not coddle him or baby him. Instead, the black belts immediately built in our son a strong foundation comprising of self-discipline, respect, and confidence through positive reinforcement. Once he stepped onto the mat; he never looked back.
Five years later, he is a 2nd degree black belt and a junior instructor. This achievement required dedication and sacrifice from a young kid; such as skipping the Ipod/TV after school, instead study and finish the homework in order to make it to Tae Kwon Do class on time. It also required active participation, dedication, and financial sacrifice from the parents/guardians. I'm an old school martial arts student and I thought that my son was too young to teach others; that he received his black belt too fast and too early.
Each day that I get the chance, to watch our son assist the newer students; to watch him practice the art; and to have him compete in tournaments.....he proves me wrong in ever thinking he wasn't ready.
ATA Changing Lives Martial Arts can provide martial artists the ability to obtain an effective skill set that transcends outside the dojang.

My son has received his black belt here, and my husband and I have started Krav Maga classes. It's a small studio where the children and the instructors know each other. There is special 1 on 1 attention and everyone is helpful. I recommend them.

Horrible customer service. Signed up for free appointment and won 5 trial classes. Went to the appointment, the guy said we can go to whatever class we'd like to use up the 5 days. My son was in the lowest age class as he is 5! Attempted to go to the class, a different woman said they were down an instructor, I needed an appointment, AND that this was the wrong class. Instead they wanted me to come back for a class that was for age 7-12. why would my 5 year old go in there with bigger kids??? He's already a small kid. Horrible! My son was really excited to go, this is so disappointing. Seems like there's no communication because different employees told me different things. Anyways, glad I didn't pay to sign up because it sounds poorly managed.

CLMA Princess Anne was recommended to us by one of our son's classmates when they were 5 yrs old. We walked in one day and were greeted by an instructor who took the time to tell us about CLMA and tried to get our son excited about Tae Kwon Do. He was hesitant at first and even cried during that initial visit. After that first day, he has never looked back- that was 5 yrs ago.
CLMA, as with any martial arts program, requires dedication to the sport. If one understands All of what that entails, the student can truly learn a great skill.
The instructors and some of the junior instructors have been amazing mentors to our son. Mr. Gunsel is the chief instructor at this location. He has a great way with the kids and is respected by students and parents alike. Through his primary instruction, it has been a joy to watch our son grow in respect and discipline. His increasing self-confidence and pride also shows with each of the belt ranks and regional competition titles he earns.
My husband, who took Tae Kwon Do in his adolescent years, has also started taking the adult classes offered and enjoys the workout he gets each time.
