Great little gym!
This location has a great variety of classes during lunch and great instructors! I really look forward to attending class during my lunch hour. I also appreciate they have substitutes for the regular instructors when they are not available. I prefer a live instructor to a virtual instructor. The facility is very clean and the people are super nice.
This YMCA is great! The staff is super friendly and helpful. The facility is easy to access and very clean.
Big police brawl happened here. 3 police and 2 other emts fought and took town a guy working out right here in the gym. do not go here. it is not safe. criminal activity is big there. near section 8

Very difficult to find this facility. The YMCA website for this location is very poorly laid out. If you want your members to find this facility then please update your website with directions on where to park and which elevator to use.

It's small but very convenient to my job. The staff is super friendly and always there to help. Clean and awesome!
I like this place a lot, but, as of July 1, 2017 they are discontinuing the complimentary towel service. The notice they have mentions the reason being for consistency sake across all their branches, but the James Center YMCA is a little different in that many patrons return immediately to work after their lunch workout, which is why the towel service was so convenient. I've reached out asking if they'd be willing to consider doing a towel-only laundry service, but have not heard back.
For this to be such a small location inside of the Omni Hotel I was impressed by the machines that they had and the classes that they offered. The elevator opens up directly into the YMCA front desk reception Center. The staff was nice enough and the machines are very easy to use, modern and updated. I will definitely come again really loved having this is an option next to my job.
When I discovered this YMCA, I immediately stopped going to the one on Franklin Street (unless it is Sunday, in which case I have no choice) The clientele that comes into this location is much different than the other one I would frequent. I like how empty it is and the staff is too awesome. I also like that the showers are divided. The location just gives me a better vibe all around.
Nice facility, overall ... pleasant, attentive staff ... But, no towel service, somewhat lacking in the Noon hour due to crowds, slack on organized work out scheduling through the work week, (i.e. spin, yoga, pilates or strength classes) Men's locker room is poorly designed and located.

Really helpful staff and judgment free members. I'm in my mid 40s working out for the first time and this has been a great experience. Plenty of machines and space, I work out at 6am and it's never crowded. Don't bother renting a locker just bring a lock, there are plenty of open lockers. The men's locker room has hairdryers, ironing boards and irons, plenty of showers and sinks with mirrors, tvs and lounge areas. I haven't used the sauna yet but its on my list.
