Great weight set up for leg work and an army of cardio equipment. Track is a bit small. Great staff and really clean

Better than I expected. Typically used to better accommodations while traveling and I just loved the facility!

I have been a member for a year and a half. They completed renovations a year ago and have a nice facility. All of the staff members I have spoken with are very friendly. My biggest complaint is the fact that 10 months of the year, the swim team has exclusive use of the pool 6 evenings a week. As someone who tries to visit the gym around 5:00 pm after work, that means I am paying for the pool, but cannot use it most of the year. It would be a great service to the members if the management could find a way to keep a few lanes of the pool open to members by having some of the swim teams do other workouts such as running in the track, activities in the gym, or in the cycling room. If you want a gym with a pool and can't visit before 4:00pm or after 8:00pm, find another facility.

Great place for the family to grow and develop. Even better partner with the community in northern Virginia.

Do you want to feel like a second class citizen? Do you want to not be able to park? Do you want to be gouged for second rate facilities that might or might not be open? Do you want to deal with the rudest staff I have ever dealt with? Than this place is for you.

We have been coming here since it opened. At the beginning it was a 5 star facility, now 1 star. There were excellent, licensed highly qualified trainers, I don't see any at that level right now. Except for some original staff, the employees are terrible. Young kids monitor the weight lifting area, not really monitor they chat with their friends, they are not old enough, mature enough or qualified to do the job. In fact I asked where stretching straps were and he pointed to a corner as he chewed his gum then went right on chatting. There were no stretching straps as they had in the beginning, just a frayed cloth strap.
Yes they are under a renovation but this has given us a new perspective. Floors, most especially in the Locker rooms are very slippery. Three weeks ago they put non slip rubber down in the shower area, it is gone now. I brought a staff person into the Locker room to help another person, the staff person about 75yrs old, nice lady, she's been around a while slipped on a little water just outside the Locker room, I caught her arm, she was visibly shaken.
At this renovation time, It's a mess. Equipment is old and torn. I have had knee surgery and need a place to stretch and do exercises there is nothing except by an emergency exit. They keep selling memberships and never increase the facility equipment, ever. The exercise equipment area needs a professional staff.
Last, there is an age limit for children in either locker room, I was in last week, in my locker room there were two boys with mothers, 6 and 10 these mothers belong to a social group that are required to care for the children. I was told the family locker room is closed, not my problem. Bringing boys that age into a woman's locker room is considered child abuse by law. I told the asst manager I would call child protective services next time. Do not join now, wait until the renovation is done then check the staff.

I travel quite a bit for business and love the YMCA brand in general but I really enjoyed the gym and the staff of this Y, I usually in Canada pay extra for the "PLUS" section with free towels steam and razors etc- This Y has a fantastic locker room- must have been newly renovated. I want to make special mention and thanks to Paul Raker membership Dir for welcoming me well at least on FB. Great gym

Good facility. Have Aetna insurance and got email about free Ymca membership for entire family. This is unbeatable value. Visited facility today. It's right of Fairfax county parkway next door to Dulles toll road. Parking is in the back for skimming pool. Entered through pool and filled couple of forms with membership desk and entire family was in the pool. There are couple of swim lines and section for little ones with shallow water. Break room is decent with bathroom and showers. Gym room has enough equipment for everyone. Overall certainly not the biggest and fanciest Ymca in DMV region (that title will go to Ymca Chevy Chase Bethesda in my opinion) but gets the jobs done with decent swimming pool and gym.

Disgusting facilities. Unhelpful/ downright rude and unhygenic staff. Nearly every piece of equipment is broken or rickety. Staff are extremely rude and degrading to the older, senior members and I say this as a 26 year old man. The only reason it gets 2 stars is because of a couple stand-out staff members. I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere for a place to work out, and let me know where you find it.

YMCA workers are very kind and helpful. Especially my son loves to go there to play basketball after lifting

I am a member of this Y and also use other Y's when I travel which is a nice benefit. The facility is nice but if you are looking for ultra fancy you won't find it here, it's a Y. There is a ton of cardio, weights, machines, free fitness classes, a great pool, sauna and steam room and you can also get a massage. The hours are good too. Recommended!

Great gym for those who don't want the testosterone laden atmosphere of most gyms.

The lifeguards on Saturday evenings (Astir, Ivan, Eileen) are reckless, loud, don't pay attention, talk to one another while on stand, push one another into the pool, and I've also observerd from the upstairs window that they never clean after the pool closes (They instead blow the whistle at each other/ mess around)

If you want a safe and nice environment go somewhere else!

They have made the men's steam room Co-Ed sense the women's steam room keeps breaking! They also don't clean the toilets very well after camp hours.

I was a CIT at the summer camp program and it was very fun. The people are all really nice and I hope to go back next year. I definitely recommend for you to enroll your kids in summer camp here.
