We have been coming here since it opened. At the beginning it was a 5 star facility, now 1 star. There were excellent, licensed highly qualified trainers, I don't see any at that level right now. Except for some original staff, the employees are terrible. Young kids monitor the weight lifting area, not really monitor they chat with their friends, they are not old enough, mature enough or qualified to do the job. In fact I asked where stretching straps were and he pointed to a corner as he chewed his gum then went right on chatting. There were no stretching straps as they had in the beginning, just a frayed cloth strap.
Yes they are under a renovation but this has given us a new perspective. Floors, most especially in the Locker rooms are very slippery. Three weeks ago they put non slip rubber down in the shower area, it is gone now. I brought a staff person into the Locker room to help another person, the staff person about 75yrs old, nice lady, she's been around a while slipped on a little water just outside the Locker room, I caught her arm, she was visibly shaken.
At this renovation time, It's a mess. Equipment is old and torn. I have had knee surgery and need a place to stretch and do exercises there is nothing except by an emergency exit. They keep selling memberships and never increase the facility equipment, ever. The exercise equipment area needs a professional staff.
Last, there is an age limit for children in either locker room, I was in last week, in my locker room there were two boys with mothers, 6 and 10 these mothers belong to a social group that are required to care for the children. I was told the family locker room is closed, not my problem. Bringing boys that age into a woman's locker room is considered child abuse by law. I told the asst manager I would call child protective services next time. Do not join now, wait until the renovation is done then check the staff.
