Awesome gym. Highly recommend
My daughter started a year ago and is already quite an impressive gymnast. Her ability to perform is a testament to the coaches at the gym. The gym offers programs for kids who are casually trying out gymnastics like mine was to gymnasts who are home schooled and compete on national levels. The communication from the gym is great through email. My only complaint would be that the viewing area is really small and you can't really see your kid. In addition, being that this is the first time my kid has been in a sport I expected a little more communication from the coaches but you can track their learned skills on the website.
I have 2 children who train at this gym and the coaches and staff are all amazing! I would highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a high quality gymnastics gym.
My kid learned experience and skills, and the instructors always keep them in track, I never felt my child get stuck, always progress in skills

My daughter absolutely loves coming here and is obsessed! All of the coaches are incredible and the staff goes above and beyond for everyone. I have had such a positive experience here and look forward to the years to come.

This gym allows bullying by children and staff. It's sad.

Have heard good stuff about this gym!!
I had a really good experience at excalibur, I went there for 5 years.

My two kids are on team at this gym, having started in the rec program. I love the rec system they use to keep track of skill progression so that the parents know when the kids are ready to move up to the next level. I love the energy of the young coaches and experience of the team coaches, it is obvious the younger coaches are receiving good guidance and training from the team coaches. I would recommend this gym for its ability to provide a variety of training to meet the needs of each individual family and child. I have two very happy gymnasts and can't say enough good about our experiences with Excalibur!
My son has been at Excalibur for 3-years now and is a member of the Boys Team. The coaches we have had over the years have been top-notch and I wouldn't even consider moving to another gym in the area. Prior to coming to this gym, I had a daughter at another gym where she competed on team for numerous years. I can honestly say that Excalibur is by far the better of the two gyms both in terms of their coaching, their staff professionalism, and the overall attitudes of the parents. There is no drama amongst the parents that I interact with and we all get along great.
I have read other reviews on this site and while everyone is entitled to their opinion, parents need to realize that not every child can be a gymnast just like not every kid can be a soccer, football, or baseball player. It is up to the coaches to separate those that can be successful at the team level and those that cannot. Just because a parent or child wants to be a gymnast doesn't mean that they can be even if they were to train under the U.S. Olympic Team Coach. Gymnastics takes quality coaching and some natural ability in order for you to be successful. Since gymnastics team costs thousands of dollars a year and is a tremendous time commitment on the parent and child, I would rather the coaches weed out those that won't be successful rather than simply promote them to team just to promote them.
My daughter has trained at Excalibur Gymnastics for six years and absolutely loves it
My daughter started here when she was 3 going off and on for a few years trying rhythmic, trampoline and recreational gymnastics. At the age of 8 or 9 she started going consistently and competing. My daughter is always the worst child in her class ALWAYS! But never in gymnastics! I wish they'd give a lesson in controlling kids behaviors to public school teachers! The only reason why I allowed her to compete for so long and scraped together the money for it is because she was gong to a bad school where she was learning a lot of bad habits and this gym has helped me in ways with her they'll never understand. She learned discipline, gained a competitive spirit and made tons of friends. Even though I didn't personally care for a coach or two, she loved them all and was always well cared for so I kept my personal (mom) feelings to myself. She switched to Gymstrada and they are good people as well but the parent volunteering was way too much. I'm more of a drop off, pay the bill and don't ask me to do anything type of parent so I'd didn't mind paying a bit more at Excalibur. She quit in March b/c she made the track team her first day at her new school. Tonight, she is getting a gold medal for having the best long jump out of all the other middle school girls in the City of Chesapeake and made the record books at her school! And I'm convinced it's because of her training at Excalibur. Her coach at her current school is very kind but not very firm and that bothered her! She missed having coaches with high expectations that expects your best and will pull it out of you. She'd leave meets placing in the top 3 angry b/c she didn't feel as though she did her best and her coach would tell her good job without constructive feedback. She did not get this from me lol! So I wrote this long review to say thank you to Excalibur for pushing my baby to do her best, work hard without complaining and teaching her how to be a true athlete! This is a great gym.
I didn't like the experience for being LATE once, called n explained to management immediately about the emergency and they had NO simpathy. They dropped my daughter out of class with no written notification or phone call that this was being done! They lost 2 kids and a birthday party event. Great Customer Service from the owner for sure.......WOW
