Personal training here ruined my experience. I'll explain different topics as I go.
Public Service Announcement / Cost - Some of you reading this review may not know the COST of personal training, kudos if you do. Here is the breakdown of a personal trainer:
-$100 / $180 / $240 (rates vary) bi-weekly for 1 / 2 / 3 sessions per week, for 30 minutes a session.
Budget - How much of you have an extra $400/month for a gym membership? I very well may have just that but I signed up with the impression that I was getting a personal training for $360 for 6-months. Short-sighted on my part, but I was looking to get into amazing shape, I heard about how inexpensive it was from my girlfriend but she didn't even know the overall cost. She decided to continue.
Terms & Conditions - I also never had it explained to me that the initial payment that I put up front was just initial payments (July + August), or that I would only get half the workouts from only making an up front payment in July and than paying again in August. Never once told the total premium. Never once knew I couldn't cancel, even with a 30-day notice. All I had was a contract telling me how wrong I was, yet the people selling it can say whatever.
TRAINERS - Keep in mind that you are paying $45/session for 30 minutes and you have to fight for an open position with someone who may or may not be available around the time you need, consistently. The trainers were also alright. The first one had a lot going on the first few weeks and we had to bounce around schedules until I eventually ended up having to switch to another gym in hopes of a consistent schedule, but I will focus on this location.
Cancellation - After having the rug pulled out as a first time member of personal training, with everything I explained above I was highly considering quitting this all together. So, I spend Wednesday thru Friday of last week, and today (Monday) trying to sort it out. Only one guy can apparently resolve all my issues, and I had to argue with him for 30 minutes about dropping my contract and how everything I was told was either minor details or didn't paint the full details of which I signed, but that I signed a contract and to deal with it. I am still fighting to resolve the cancellation.
Customer Service Conclusion - As a customer looking to keep membership, having this hard of a lesson by a company you trusted, you start to see that you as a customer are trying to hurt the profit and they don't care. I still have my membership, and will continue to pay monthly, but I will fight until the end against this as the details were never made clear and as an average Joe you don't ask all the right questions before signing the contract they will be as vague as possible and have you sign.
I hope this helped!
