Kat has enjoyed going there tremendously and we want to encourage her to call her dad, so she can continue to attend. Being physically active is important and she knows I understand that. Best Gym I have ever worked out in, Ive been a trainer for over 8 years and an orangetheory fitness coach. This is far better than any commercial gym, and Kyle was a great help getting me set up there.
Great gym. Good environment, friendly staff that has never failed to greet anyone as they walked in. They are always completely stocked on cleaning spray and paper towels to wipe down equipment. That is huge, I've never been to a gym that is always stocked. They have a decent amount of weights and a lot of cardio machines. Will continue to use this gym until I transfer out of the area. Will recommend to everyone to try out the Onelife.
Excellent facility, however I really don't like how it's no membership plan that allows you to bring a guest whenever you want. This is the only club in the area that doesn't do that. At sign up, I believe his name was DJ, mentioned he will give me "a couple of" guest passes however I never received them.
I have to downgrade my rating (a low 3 star rating). I've been going here since 2012. On at least 2 occasions (maybe 3), I've submitted feedback and requested that dumbbells up to 125 lbs be added as several other One Life locations have these dumbbells. There are definitely people besides myself that would make very good use of them. Most recently I was told that "we are trying to uphold our family atmosphere", not to mention hearing that several Planet Fitness type interactions have taken place. I know there are people who drop weights and are excessive, but there are way more that do not and are not. Last year sometime, a deadlift platform was added and somehow that is considered to be "upholding the family atmosphere", a phrase whose meaning I'm still trying to figure out (I replied to that email and asked, but never received a response). It's unfortunate and I may consider going elsewhere. I know for a fact I'm not the only one that has asked for this addition, as several others have. I'm not sure what the purpose of feedback is.
Edit: Just learned that the area's newest One Life (I believe) at Red Mill has greater than 100 lb dumbbells (up to 120 lbs). Seriously not sure what the issue is with the Chesapeake Square location.

Out of all the Onelife locations in the area this one is by far my favorite. The layout is great, the staff is friendly and everything is clean.
I paid $10 for a one-time visit of the gym and I will not be back. It was very clean and spacious with a good variety of equipment, though much of it was quite old. I may have gone at a bad time but I was extremely disappointed with the clientele at this location. Many patrons were using multiple machines at the same time. Three separate times I thought a machine was not in use and someone came over from another machine and snapped at me for using an empty (unracked) machine. One woman in particular was extremely rude even after I left the machine. She later told her boyfriend and was literally holding him back from confronting me even though I left the machine without confrontation. Two stars to Onelife for allowing this type of behavior and not implementing staff to stop this knowing they cater to this type of person.
EDIT: To response from manager: I spoke to a manager after I left about it and filed a complaint. If your managers don't take issues like this seriously I would bump my review down to one star. This happened June 30th in the afternoon...

I wouldn't have given them one star if I didn't have to. I would rather go to planet fitness or your time fitness before I set foot in that place again. They making getting fit more expensive than it has to be. DO NOT USE THEM. Correction. They have now charged me FOUR TIMES ,the $32 maintenance fee". Great facility, great variety of machines, great classes, knowledgeable trainers, I have lost 15 lbs since becoming a member 30 days ago. I am looking forward to loosing more.
Decent facility, and nice utilities, such as steam rooms, jacuzzi, pool area, cardio theater, hydro-massage table, and tanning booths, along with the usual gym equipment. It's got something for everyone. However, the memberships are over-priced, the locker rooms are filthy (ex: why are there used condoms in the steam room, in the locker room?!), and the equipment is unhygienic and nasty (grimy handlebars on treadmills and elliptical). The personal trainers aren't the friendliest, either. A couple of them are, but a few of them don't really wanna engage with the customer it seems. Idk... could be better, could be worse. If you don't mind paying the high membership fees, and you don't mind uncleanliness, then you'll love it here. Personally, I'll be happier, just going to a smaller, but cleaner (And more secure facility (such as YourTime Fitness, or something).
Gym is great and has a lot included for the price. Comparable to the inclusions of the YMCA yet more affordable. It isn't one of those Bro-dude gyms, everyone here seems friendly enough and just wants to get healthy.
I've been a member since the Gold's days. Love the gym! Always clean. State of the art equipment. Staff is always friendly. I see the bad reviews and wonder what gym they are attending. Don't change a thing.

Great gym and staff, but when you sign up be ready to be completely bombarded multiple times a week for offers to do surveys, upgrade your plan you have with them, schedule a time with a personal trainer, etc. It will come not just in emails but texts to. Took multiple times on both email and text to get removed from mailing list and i still get emails
I had a very bad experience at the YMCA. So I took a tour of One Life Fitness. The staff was super friendly it made me feel very welcome. The health club is very large spacious clean with nice new equipment. They have more than I was expecting such as a movie theater pools sauna steam room play area for kids women's special workout room classes. And the prices are very affordable. I'm very excited to be a part of this club.
Have been going to this gym for about 4 months so far, and have had nothing but good experiences. The facility is always clean and everything is kept inn good working order. The staff is always very friendly and inviting, and my kids love the kids club.
A great gym and it has some of the hottest women in the area. To include the gorgeous short blonde with one incredibly nice A** that works the front desk!
Instead of showing me around and I asked about membership and rates, I got pushed a waiver in my face and wouldn't answer any questions until I filled out their waiver of liability even though I was already in the building. Pushing paperwork in my face instead of answering questions is NOT good customer service. - I became a member because it's the only gym close to me. Advertised price is not 30$. You pay a deposit fee and a additional membership annual fee. Still cheaper than ymca. The equipment is nice but the staff stands around most of the day. I don't like this place but I don't have a choice. Just another corporate business. You have to pay for every little thing there. I took a friend of mine to look around and maybe motivate them, instead the staff was mean and said they needed a membership to even tour the place.
Great gym!! I enjoy the variety of fitness classes to choose from. There is state of the art fitness equipment. They work consistently to keep the gym clean for its members. A great place to workout!
Great place to get a solid workout. A lot of variety, a lot of group classes. The movie theater room is awesome for the long cardio days, especially when the weather isn't so comfortable.
