Richard Romero (Shihan) is an outstanding teacher and the students learn as much about life as they do about karate.
Highly recommend for kids of all ages.
My 8 year old son has been participating in Seichou Karate since he was 4 years old. Signing him up was one of the best decisions I've made. I attribute much of his physical, mental and emotional strength to his weekly attendance. I feel so confident in Shihan and his team - their genuine love for karate and their investment in my son's success. At Seichou, we all feel part of a family. Highly recommend!
We have had an extremely positive experience at Seichou Karate. The facility is exceptionally well run and the instructors are excellent. I highly recommend Seichou Karate.
This is the best place for your kids if you want them to learn self-control, discipline, teamwork, controlled attention, accurate thinking, positive mental attitude. You would not find any other place like this! You child will be immersed in the life long experience of Maintenance of Sound Health following work with play, mental effort with physical, seriousness with humor. This is all on top of learning essential karate skills under supervision of very serious and disciplined Masters!
Wonderful instructors! This is a safe and welcoming training environment. My son and I are both students here, and I can't say enough good things. I highly recommend Seichou Karate!
We have sent our son to several different martial arts places. None of them compare to this place. For the sensei, this isn't a business or a way to make money but a sense of personal pride. Highly recommend it.

The most exceptional karate experience available in Alexandria. The trainers never let you fall through the cracks. They are always there to step in with some individual instruction, and they challenge you to be your best self. Seichou is not just a school, but a way of life. Highly recommended.

I started taking classes at Seichou about four months ago, and I consider myself very fortunate to have found a great dojo.
Shihan Romero is has spent decades mastering Karate. He is a former Kyokushin knockdown champion and taught karate at the Oyama Karate headquarters in New York. He has a deep respect for the art and is passionate about passing on his knowledge and love of Karate to his students.
Shihan Romero and Sempai Gautherine excel at knowing the progress of each of us. They are patient, yet push us contantly. In every class I feel like I am making progress and learning something new.
The dojo is a welcoming community, and other students are eager to help you succeed. It's a very nice group of people.
So if you have been thinking about trying out Karate or looking for a new Dojo, I highly recommend visiting Seichou.

My son asked for a ninja party for his 5th birthday and I am SO GLAD that we found Seichou Dojo. The kids were not only entertained, but they learned about Japanese culture and language. The emphasis on karate instruction, development of strong moral character, and cultural understanding sets this place apart from any we've seen in the DC/MD/VA area. My son has not stopped talking about his time at Seichou Dojo! Though we live 45 minutes away (with no traffic) we are strongly considering becoming members because this place is second to none. All of the other parents (even those who have children in martial arts classes elsewhere) commented on how outstanding this studio is in general, and how special the director Shihan Romero is in particular. Thank you Seichou Dojo for making my son's birthday so special!!

Good experience. I might not choose to come here for classes cause its so far away but I had a good class here. Sensei was very kind and everyone was very friendly.
OSU!

My son has been part of this dojo for just over one year and I can truly say it is one of the most impressive programs I have seen. Shihan Romero puts significant time and attention into the program, ensuring that the kids not only learn the karate moves, but also the philosophy and cultural aspects of karate. My son enjoys participating in the Saturday morning calligraphy classes and, although usually hesitant and self-conscience, my son has begin pushing himself to learn the more difficult movement patterns. Seichou Karate truly is one of our favorite children's programs and I cannot wait to start my younger son when he turns 4!
