I met Jeff Vincent when he came to my school and did a karate demonstration for my 3rd graders. And I thought...I've always wanted to do karate, why not give it a try. So I signed up and began just a few weeks ago. I was nervous but Jeff and Ike are so friendly and supportive that you feel great about yourself. I am grateful that I took that first step and showed up.
I look forward to what comes next!

Great place for adults to learn martial arts and get exercise. I've been going here for a few years and it's been awesome. Jeff has helped me develop life skills as well as get more physically active. It has been a great experience. It's tough because he pushes you to be better and the end result is well worth it!

I started at this studio a few years ago and have loved it. As an adult I didn't start out with very much flexibility. I started karate with the intention of getting a good workout to stay in shape and, hopefully, develop a little flexibility. Along the way I have had ample opportunities to work on both. I have also benefited from developing more confidence. I get opportunities to work on moves that challenge my agility and flexibility without feeling pressured to go beyond my abilities. The staff are friendly and always help me feel welcome.

I love it here. My son has been going since he was 8 or so and I started going about a two years ago. I has been great for me. I've lost about two pant sizes and a shirt size, feel better and am slowly getting better at the karate as well. I've grown greatly in strength as well. As an adult, its a great time for me, and I enjoy doing the work with my son. The instructors do a very good job working you hard and also teaching you the self defense skills/karate moves to do well. They have always been receptive to questions and always helpful. I would recommend to any adult looking for something to keep them active and add to their skill sets. Its very fun for me.

My little family has been so blessed for finding Jeff and the BLK family! Our son was struggling with aggression, self control and respect for others to the point he was becoming unbearable to live with. I always heard that karate was the BEST thing for the overactive, full of energy child, and my thoughts were "why would I want to teach this child more ways to hit or fight?". Boy was I wrong. Our son has been with BLK since last October and has become so respectful, calm and more able to self regulate! He has actually started looking at people and responding to their feelings and emotions! He is 100% a totally different little boy. It takes a village to raise children and I am proud to have Bobby Lawrence Karate studios as part of our village!

My daughter started there not to long ago and she loves it! She loves all the staff and leaders. They are all so nice and helpful.

We had our children enrolled in a different studio and were happy enough. Probably because we didn't know how great the staff, program and experience is at Bobby Lawrence Karate. My children love and respect their intructors. We have seen an increase in their self-confidence and physical abilities. My son has focus, discipline and drive and he's not even nine yet! My 5 year -old-daughter has become a better listener at school and is learning how better to manage her emotions.
I would recommend BLK over any other studio I know.

I like how they are related to outside of this karate school. They require you to be good anywhere anytime to be promoted. Students must sign a piece of paper that they understand 4 important attitudes (courtesy, respect, discipline, focus) and parents and school teachers are also required to sign the paper if your child has those good attitudes at home and school. To be honest my 7 year old autistic son almost failed because of his bad attitude at school but we talked about it a lot and he wanted to be promoted so he tried really hard. And it worked! I'm so thankful for them that they teach kids mental strength, patience and respect.
