Nice quite area to start a hike, eslecially on the weekdays.
Sometimes the ride gets short no shock on my bike, I like longer rides. Traffic gets hard to work with so mountain bikes work. The hills are good. Take easy warm up and go .
I did a hike here on August 27th starting around 1145am. It was very hot and there are few trees so be sure to bring water and wear sunscreen! Lots of bugs, a couple snakes, and a handful of sunflowers along the way. It took me about 90 minutes to get to Twin Peaks and back.
I love this trail. It can get super hot if you your walking in the afternoon due to very/almost no shade. Regardless of this, the view of the valley is incredible. There is a small tub like pond at the start/end trail where my dog can sit to cool offf.
Gateway to many, many miles of The Bonneville Shoreline Trail! Lots of up and downhill hiking, can get a little slick in gravel/rocks.
Go early(especially at this trailhead due to very limited parking and going in the summer gets very hot), wear sturdy shoes, take plenty of water and sun protection. Dog friendly ON A LEASH, bicycle friendly also.
There are no bathrooms or water.
Beautiful views from these trails
Fun group of trails. Beautiful view of the sunset!
Some uphill, but I was able to make the route that we Chose. 2 miles. Average 60 yr old can hike it.
Nice hiking spot close to town. Limited parking and lots of other people, dogs, and bikers. Better on weekdays or early morning.

Well marked trail head to fun not that well marked hike up to "twin peaks" (GPS might be a good idea to have set up with a map like all trails or you might end up on another trail. Saw someone back-tracking from a wrong turn on the way back to the trailhead)

I might have been the only person without a dog on the trail! So great for dogs, there are trails to branch off from the trailhead. A very steep start if you go east, but worth it at the top of the hill. Very dry air from the dry grass, I recommend going before the sun rises too high in the morning.

Great access to Salt Lake City foothills.
This is nice spot. It is even worth some rest. I wish there was a vendor machine and some banks though. The small Buddha statue near the western trailhead was especially nice.

Makes for a beautiful night hike.
The hike took us 30 minutes. There is a kind of steep part but not too hard. The too is flat and what a view.
Great trails!
I am not sure I call it the Terrace Hills Trailhead so whatever. This is how I get to Bobsled trail, which is the greatest trail in the valley. Note that I said IN the valley. There are better ones in the mountains but you can be to this trail in 35 minutes ready to tear down Bobsled from your desk at work in downtown SLC. So that is great.
However, for this trailhead, it's at the top of Terrace Hills blvd, which is basically straight up for what feels like 400 miles when you're the one pedaling. The reason I gave it all five stairs is that it's where I get to Bobsled, and Bobsled is always a good thing.
