I get em' a B+. Gym employees are friendly and helpful. Cleanliness gets a B+. TP & paper towels all over restroom floor. Upstairs treadmills still need some work.

Just signed up here. The equipment is in good condition, the people are friendly, everything is kept clean.

My trainer, Murray is epic. Very involved and is showing me the ropes.

The customer service is excellent. They actually care. Good crew!

Location is also convent!

Gym wasn't bad. A bit packed, but my biggest problem is that I canceled my gym for a 24 hour gym months ago. I just realized they are still charging my card for a membership.

Newly renovated with more equipment. The locker rooms are finally getting the lockers repaired. I'd be happy if they could get an extra water fountain on the floor with cold water.

When Gold's  Gym closed  on Pat Booker,  many of the members, mostly seniors,  started working out at the Live Oak location.   Since we paid a higher monthly fee and enjoyed more amenities, management did much to placate us when we transferred our memberships.  Gold's Gym  obtained & provided  tables & chairs for a social area and during the Christmas holidays furnished  free coffee from Dunkin Donuts.  Over the months,   many of those I personally knew   transferred to other Gold's  Gyms  in the area or  enrolled in Tru-Fit  which had moved into our old location across the street.  This gym had recently been renovated  and made many outstanding  improvements.   Gradually, the facility deteriorated.    Main cleanup crew quit.   Maintence delayed.  It took three week for shower to be repaired.   Two of the water fountains were permanently removed.   Working out dehydrates and no water fountain in men's locker room or  on one side of main workout room.    After evaluating the worth of my membership,  i  officially terminated end of August  because lack of maintenance and management oversight.   Gold's Gym could not  find my paperwork and continued to charge my account  three times after my contract expired.  It took at least three or more trips to gym to get it resolved. Only ended because i had my credit union to stop payment. They also credited my account with GG unauthorized withdrawals.

No stars. Had an appointment to sign up with Billy at 9am. Got 2 kids ready and sat at the gym for 20 min waiting. He didn't show up and no one else who worked there could sign me up. Crazy. I drove down to the Thousand Oaks location and was helped right away by Michael. He was very nice and made me feel better about signing up. My time is valuable and sales people should be on time for their appointments or make sure other staff can handle new clients.

Equipment is a good shape. Trainers are very knowledgeable and the front desk staff is generally very nice. However, ive been at this Gold's for just over four years and recently the facilities have become extremely filthy. Trash is overflowing and the men's restroom is getting pretty disgusting. Ventilation in the restrooms is poor at best. Toilets and sinks are disgusting. I honestly think that the cleaning staff is overwhelmed and can't keep up. That or they just dont realize that the bathrooms require a daily cleaning.

There is a True Fit opening up nearby that I am going to go look at.

AWFUL, WORST, NEGETIVE, PATHETIC experience. I joined this centre of Gold gym in May 2018 and since I was an ex member of Gold's Gym I was supposed to get a 50$ gift card ( that's the offer going on at that time ) and I was being told the same by the person at the front desk who joined me. He said to me that the gift card will arrive in mail within a month. After 2.5 months, when I haven't received any card, I contacted the front desk multiple times, I called the branch manager , I sent them an email stating the same that I haven't received the card yet, everytime they said that someone will get back to me, but till today NO ONE GOT BACK TO ME even for once. They just lie to you about offers to make you join. DONT FALL IN THIS TRAP. If they are telling you about some offer, get it in written from them while joining.

Front staff is rude and ignorant and always seem to be only half present. As if they are not all there with their mind in lala land. Ok, men's locker room is the most disgusting I've ever witnessed. The showers are always flooded to the point where the stagnant water is catching mold already. The smell of the showers litterally equals the nasty toilets which makes me choke every time. The toilets are so filthy you can smell them as Soon as you turn into the locker room which also smells like the worst toe cheese you could ever imagine. Unacceptable and shocks me that a name brand like gold's would allow this to happen. It really comes down to management. I'm not sure if there's a new manager or what but this place really went down hill. Sad used to be my favorite gym In the north east. Please just address the locker room and toilet problem who ever may read this review.

My home gym. Only thing I don't like about it now is the burn class is way too noisy. Please give them headphones so you don't have to play that music so loud.

Good facility - Okay staff. To many young adults on their phones taking up machines and to lazy to re-rack their weights. Best Option around but hoping for a Lifetime Fitness to come along!

Wanted to sign up for basic membership. Of course they up-sold me so that I could set up a fitness regime with the body scan (which I never received) and an additional $50 a month so that I could participate in the 5:15 a.m. classes. Classes have to be set up via the app - which I couldn't get to work for the first week. Now, the very class that I am paying more for is full - so I am basically not getting anything for the membership that I signed up for. You might need to up your customer service a bit before members start going to larger gyms for the same membership price.

Man I want to like this gym, but its hard. If you compare Live Oak to Bulverde or New Braunfels- it's night and day. The equipment layout makes no sense. The machines are too close to each other, can be awkward sometimes. And it doesn't matter what time you come, the bathrooms/locker room are always a mess. It's just a totally different vibe from the other gyms.

The sales department lacks professionalism and are rude. They don't care about the clients, and you cannot get a firm price on monthly fees. If you would call and speak to a different person each time you, would probably get a different price from each person. I asked some questions to the front desk personnel and most of the time received the same answer. "I don't know". They recently changed the hours of operation, and I tried to get some answers and suggestions for another location I could go to that is more convenient for myself. The salesperson was all but helpful. Would not recommend Gold's Gym. Will probably look to find another customer friendly Gym.

Well appointed gym. Despite reviews on here I thought staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. Update: they pulled off a great remodel. I'm especially pleased with the new showers. Puts my primary gold's gym to shame. They assigned a lot more room by taking out the basketball court. Lots of free weights and cable machines now. Lots. There is also a swimming pool, a group personal training room, spinning room, room for classes, and a kind of open astro turf area. If Only They would renovate the lockers and put down some rubber mats in the locker room it would be perfect.

I get informed by the staff to check club and childcare times online for accuracy and we show up and the childcare is closed. Or times like today I call ahead to ask for childcare hours, get told they will be open, we show up and they are closed. Only reason we got golds was because of childcare we have a free membership on base. If this keeps up we are cancelling our memberships still under 30days.

Gold's Gym in Live Oak has been newly renovated. Became a member here in 2005 but left when maintenance and upkeep of facilities went downhill. Returning after our gym closed on December 15th. Seeing for first time after improvements were made, many things I like : placement & lowering of reception desk, addition of a social area which will satisfy older members, arrangement of health products & gym wear. On stationary bike upstairs and have not seen aqua area yet. Understand hot tub will open on Monday. Member has choice of climbing a steep stairway or using an elevator to get upstairs. Addendum: Hot Tub opened earlier by staff. One of shower stalls in men's restroom is built for wheel chair accessibility. The dry sauna is very nicely done. You walk straight in and out without stepping up or bumping feet on raw concrete. Missing is a steam room and many of the amenities such as towels, locks, gels, soap, Q-tips, Kleenex.

Everything about this gym is old and rundown. Definitely needs remodelling. From cracked leather to rusting metal on the equipment. Very run down. The placement of all the equipment needs improvement compared to the other Golds Gym in the area like Bulverde and evans rd.

This is an amazing gym, i go about 3 times a week and one day on the weekend. The staff is great once you get to know them more and the people that workout around you are great. They communicate with everyone and alot of people that i meet are really sweet and talk to alot of people at this gym. The equipment is great, they stay on top of there stuff and i think that this gym is a great gym to go to. Keep in mind planet fitness is a downgrade from this and the gym on base is super boring, people are nice but no one communicates there. I think golds is full of respect and etc.! Thanks golds:)

Same as the other gym in the area.
If I could give this gym 0 stars I would. My husband went in and canceled and they continued to charge him $500 past when he canceled. We had a family account and they said "he couldn't make changes on the primary could". They tell us this after they have our money and we are still fighting with them 2 months later. My husband is 100% disabled veteran who lost his leg for his country and this is how Golds treats him.

This gym is always clean. The GM is super nice. If you sign up please ask for PEARL. She's awesome.
