I just started training here at Ohana- West and let me say the environment is incredible! Walking in I was nervous, but was welcomed with open arms. You are treated like family the moment you step in the door! I fell in love with the training that same day. I am recommending to everyone interested in training!
Really enjoying going to Ohana. Staff and gym members are super welcoming. Super beginner friendly- If you are struggling with a concept they will walk you through it step by step. Super happy overall with the services provided by Ohana. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get into Martial Arts.
My son just started here three days ago but so far the process has been very smooth. Super friendly staff, very helpful and welcoming. He definitely loves it!
Arrived after being referred by a friend. Was a bit out of my comfort zone but everyone was super friendly and everyone was super glad to help out and walk me through. Classes for all skill levels.
Today will mark the eighth day in a row that myself and my two boys (ages 7 and 4.5) have been attending classes at Ohana in Alamo Heights. Come for the challenge, stay for the instructors. You'll be greeted by the caring and friendly Coach Bobby who will show you around and answer any question you may have; you will meet Coach Gabe, known as "Professor" (I am not sure how he got that name, though I intend to ask) who actively resides with firm affection over his jiu jitsu students, demanding the best and providing the training necessary to achieve the best. Coach Washington is a favorite among the very young students as well as us older ones as he guides you through the skills of Muay Thai and even in his corrections there is apparent encouragement. My only complaint is that I will eventually move and no longer get to be a part of the family of athletes here at Ohana. If ten stars were a grading option, that is what I would choose. One, Two, Three: OHANA.
Started training at Ohana a couple of months ago and they are great! So many different types of classes are available with flexible times! Great people and great school overall.
We have been at Ohana for almost 2 years. First starting with my then 5 year old son and eventually my daughter and husband. As the mom, I have even tried out a few classes! Ohana has truly become part family. We love the relationships we have built along the way, having something to be active in together, as well as building confidence and discipline. Thank you Ohana!

Great community at Ohana. They are more than welcoming to newcomers, and are willing to help coach you along in the beginning. Staff is very friendly, other members are warm and welcome and they offer a range of great classes to suite your individual interests!

The atmosphere and instructors at Ohana are very professional and welcoming. This is my first experience with martial arts and it has been great! Coach Washington is patient and knows his stuff. All the staff are very kind and encouraging and always say hi when you see them. I would definitely recommend Ohana to the begginer or to the experienced!
I've been wanting to get my grandchildren involved in martial arts for a couple of yrs now, but I was waiting for them to say that they were ready to try it out, after reading all of the positive reviews, I decided that Ohana was the best academy to try. Love this place! Signed up recently, and I've been there every day since. Coach Gabe has been very helpful, and all of the coaches have been helpful and welcoming. The other students as well! The beginning classes are great, and if you attend the other classes as a beginner both the coaches and the other students help you acclimate to the more difficult classes. I've visited several martial arts places throughout my life, and Ohana has everything I look for. Talented coaches, friendly students of all levels, fair pricing, and you have to work for what you want. The worst thing a gym can do is reward people with belts or rankings they haven't earned. If you're looking for easy goals then you shouldn't be doing martial arts in the first place. No shortcuts, only hard work. They have classes all day almost every day, so there is always something to do. Thanks guys!

Coach Mark is awesome with keeping the young ones focused and entertained. It was our son's first day and he loved it. This will be a great way to keep him enterained while he's out of school and still allow him that interaction with other kids AND teach him valuable skills.
Very impressed with the hospitality and eagerness to make my 5 year old feel comfortable at her first class. Gabe was very quick to call to talk about our options and was so helpful in explaining the different classes. The coaches were fantastic, they held a structured class but incorporated fun.

Was visiting San Antonio for work and was looking for a place to train during , and I am glad I went to Ohana. They really do take their name seriously here. From the moment I walked in they treated me like family. Walking into any academy for the first time is an intimidating experience, and I simply did not experience that here. There is plenty of mat space for all the students to roll, and they do a great job keeping the place clean. Hygiene is not over-looked. They have students from all levels and ages with a range of training goals from hobbyist to competitors,and they have a lot of classes available to fit anyone's schedule. If you are looking for a gym in the San Antonio area I highly recommended you stop by here.
Ohana Academy is one of the most genuine and friendly academies in San Antonio. I went to 4 different academies in the city before I decided to commit to Ohana. Everyone at Ohana is super friendly and willing to help new people learn. I highly recommend giving them a try.
The Ohana Academy has phenomenal teachers. They are all very well spoken and want to help you learn. The way they transition from one student to another is perfect. It's like their mindset is to leave nobody behind. It's truly a great place to learn, and I'm extremely happy I signed up!

This place is AWESOME!!! Gabriel has treated us like royalty, given us so much information and suggestions for our daughter. The energy here is amazing! Our daughter is having her first experience with martial arts here and we couldn't ask for a better first impression. The price is reasonable and a uniform is included in registration. The even have a champion kick boxer, mua Thai fighter, from Brazil. He is phenomenal!!!! If I could give this place 10 stars I would!!!.
Very cool place! Walked in looking to improve my ground game and I was quickly humbled by the talented people here. Great coaches for multiple disciplines, if you want real martial arts, Ohana is definitely worth a visit
Very welcoming and I had a blast. It is now 90 minutes after my first class and I feel more relaxed than I have in many years. Looking forward to working hard , learning more, and bettering myself.
Its always intimidating walking into a new gym, and it feels like you are being thrown into the fire during your first class, but if you stick with it you will get in great shape, build confidence, and maybe find your ohana.
The gym's manager is awesome. He instantly made me feel welcomed and introduced me to all the coaches. There are plenty of guys here willing to slow it down and help you learn.
This dojo has a great culture. My two sons have been attending Ohana for about a month now and they love it. The coaches are great role models. They patiently instruct, encourage, and challenge while keeping the training fun. During the practice sessions, the coaches get around to providing individual attention.
On the business side of the house, the prices are affordable and the management has been unquestionably straightforward.
Professor Jason and Professor Poney are excellent instructors and masters of their craft. Their management is well run and their pricing is fair and affordable. Their adult classes are intense, educational, and fun. Everybody is included on the mats. No matter your skill level or body type everybody wants you to succeed and get better.
Our son has been enrolled here now for about two months. He absolutely loves the environment and the instructors. Coach Washington is outstanding as are the other coaches involved in the Muay Thai program. I would highly recommend you give this place a shot. They'll go out of their way to make you feel at home without making you feel obligated to join.

I was hesitant at first when my husband wanted to put our 6 year old daughter in juijitsui. Clearly I was wrong in being headstant!!! We have been with Ohana for a little over 2 months and I am amazed at how far my daughter has come. She is confidant and aggressive when need be. ALL the coaches are amazing at this Dojo! My daughter works closely with coach blue, coach manny, coach Jason, & coach Sandra and they all love the kids and work for the kids! Every class they go over manners and discipline!! Best investment we have made! We are so looking forward to our future with Ohana!
