It is very difficult to find gluten free restaurants. When I found this place I knew I had to try it out. We went every day we were in San Antonio for either breakfast or lunch. My spouse, who puts up with my dietary needs, liked everything of the menu. It is hard to find a place that actually knows how to cook and bake gluten free items so they taste good. Kudos to a job well done!
Best place for a healthy breakfast in SA. Barbados bowl was filling and delicious, 5 point breakfast has flavor-filled black beans. Coffee is strong. Service is good. Nice place to sit and talk or study for awhile.
The entire menu is gluten free and everything is soooo delicious. I am very impressed with the quality of the dishes, absolutely amazing! All the entrees we tried are excellent! I could eat here every day. Lovely atmosphere, very comforting and staff is super friendly. So grateful for this place!
Wow, this place is delicious for anyone that wants fresh, flavorful food. The service is casual and caring (they even try to know your name). The decor is earthy yet modern and rustic. Rich espresso drinks, excellent fresh squeezed juice, baked goods, and desserts are all as incredible as the food. I have food allergies (wheat, corn, walnuts, sesame, and peanuts) and my husband has various dietary needs (paleo, keto), and we can eat nearly everything here.
They typically have a daily special which is always outstanding. All meals are well balanced with salad and various protein options. I included some images of some of my favorite foods.
My first impression wasn't great, to be honest. My wife and I came in for a coffee after seeing the reviews and photos. We both got ice coffees. Prepare yourself, they are a straw-free shop. While I fully support that, I don't support having to buy a $3-4 wooden straw in order to complete my coffee purchase. Maybe it would be different if they offered the sippy cup type lids to allow some to enjoy their coffee as-is? Secondly, the coffee tasted watered down and the flavor wasn't very present. The people that served us weren't really friendly and cold. I get that being Downtown you can get some really good food you can't get anywhere else at the expense of those places being more hip than others, but my wife and I will probably get coffee elsewhere from now on.

Excellent food that is all gluten free and many items vegan too. They do breakfast all day and I recommend the pancakes for sure. Also had the BLT sandwich and loved the thick piece of bacon they put on it. Last all the baked goods are really good. Try the Vinkies (Vegan Twinkies), especially if you love pumpkin flavored items!

We didn't want hotel food again so a short Lyft ride got us to this great local place. Frittata with arugula was delicious. My wife had the five points breakfast and loved the black beans with the sweet potato hash. We split the gluten free pancakes they were really good.
Amazing breakfast! Got the Rise & Shine bowl and hubby got the TX Toast. Coffee with the honey and lavender syrup was so good && the vegan twinkie is worth going out of your way for! Cannot wait to go back.

Really good food - good portions for the price. I am a nursing mother on a dairy and egg free diet because my baby can't tolerate either. I liked that I could get a vegan meal but add on steak.
Great food, reasonable price, friendly and helpful staff. The building itself is super cute and the coffee is great. Several gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan friendly options. Would highly recommend.
One of my favorite spots for healthy eating/ diet friendly food. The food is fresh, tasty, healthy, AND reasonably priced! I initially tried this spot with a friend who is celiac because they are a gluten free restaurant but I have gone back on my own because the food is so good! Very pleasant atmosphere too :)
A simple menu with a wide variety of coffee and light fair. One of the only places in San Antonio that had over the top delicious Butter/Bullet Proof coffee, which is made to perfection.
That alone would keep me coming back but the atmosphere, yoga classes and food are icing on the cake.
Going to be honest. Had the clean plate breaksfast. Nothing to write home about but not bad. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is top shelf. Felt really relaxed here and we enjoyed our time. Will definitely be back to try their other offerings.
Loved the atmosphere 5/5. Food 5/5. Drinks 4/5. Service 3/5. If you have food allergies, on a diet, or just in general cautious/picky about what you eat this is the place for you. The only thing I didn't like, 1 cashier/no wait staff... with picky orders takes time (I know I felt bad bc I had questions that took up time in the line that I saw people in the back get mad at, but "oh well"- like the cashier said too.) Sucks when your waiting on food/drinks and they have to go find you too... somehow I got my food before others at my table that paid before I did. They even waited like 10-15 more minutes until they got it after mine arrived.
The food and the ambience was good. The quantity for the pricing was pretty bad. If you are hungry and want a decent serving, you might want to pick another place. Good for vegan and organic eats.
Amazing gluten free food! I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. We were so happy to find an all gluten free restaurant. We were even happier after we tasted the food. The baked goods were fantastic and something you crave when you can't have gluten and to top it off they don't cook with walnuts or peanuts, so I was able eat carrot cake for the first time in years. Those who can eat gluten wouldn't even know it was glute free if you didn't tell them. Fantastic food on all points and great service. Wish I didn't live in Seattle. I would be here every day.
I really wanted to like this place. I want to support local companies and fresh food but they made it so hard even though I was willing to give them my money and tip the server well, which I did anyway. BUT the entire visit I was treated like I wasn't welcome and every question was a nuisance to the server. Plates left on table, pretty much ignored. I felt even more uncomfortable when my partner joined me because we were treated even worse, if that's possible. Makes me wonder if they are discriminatory. So sad. Food was delicious. But I can't give them my money again. The server treated most folks like this for the record.
First time here and service was great and with a smile. Food was delicious; tried the rise and shine bowl pictured below. Coffee was on point. Atmosphere for the late breakfast hour was perfect; dinning area was about half full. Definitely will return.
Staff is awesome, very helpful and friendly for first timers. You order at the front, the line was a bit long due to awesome brunch items. Then you take a number to your table, and the wait staff delivers. Food was delicious, especially the cherry almond coffee cake.
This is a solid restaurant with lots of healthy options and plenty of gluten free fair (that doesn't taste gluten free). My only problem is that they tend to over salt or over pepper their dishes, especially the vegan ones. I mean your mouth will burn with pepper when you order the Karma Bowl and it takes away from the flavor of the food. Also the yoga classes get crazy loud some days. Overall a good restaurant that needs help with seasoning and consistency.
This place has a unique, comfortable, vibe. The food is decently priced and high quality. Bring your gluten free hating relatives here to show them that gluten free, when done right, can be even better than gluten filled food. Amazing pancakes, fluffy with great flavor, quiche crust tasted buttery with a beautiful, flaky texture, and the clean breakfast tacos flavorful and great for hangovers. The orange juice is fresh squeezed but not sour. Outdoor and indoor seating, room for large groups. Large portions. Open early. Family and kid-friendly. We will definitely be back!
So the food is amazing , really. Fair pricing for quality meals and there's free refills on coffee. However , the 2 stars comes from really poor customer service... every single time I've eaten here the young girl behind the counter is just incredibly rude . Like, really really short and a few times rolled her eyes. I'm not sure what the problem is ....
This was a quick decision by my boss for lunch when in town between appointments. He's eating better and I'm vegetarian. This couldn't be better. Great menu and great espresso... Exactly where I'd be any day for any meal. Peaceful sense... And yoga on site.
Everything is gluten free!!! As a celiac, this is heaven because you can actually relax and not have that slightly panicked anxiety that they might cross contaminate. It's a rare treat being able to order anything from the menu. The food was SO delicious. A must do if you want an amazing, locally sourced meal to fuel your day.
So excited to find a completely gluten free restaurant!! The food is so so amazing and the atmosphere is relaxed and fun. You cannot go wrong with the menu items. So much fun! Dinner last night and breakfast today! Wonderful! Don't forget dessert! THE BEST!
Best Gluten Free/Vegan restaurant, I have been to since I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2002. I learned of this Gem thanks to "Emma Hotel" in San Antonio since, I was in the mood for some Gluten Free Pancakes. The Pancakes are delectable, the fresh squeezed Orange Juice is divine & the bacon is unbelievably delicious. I have tried their other breakfast dishes and even Dinner & everything is perfect. FYI: It's a bit on the pricey side but trust me it's worth every penny. If you are visiting S.A. or you live here, I highly recommend 5 Points Local.
Great coffee, kind and helpful staff and amazing food.
Caveat: portions are smaller than in regular Texan places so beware of that. If you're still hungry just go for a piece of one of their various flavors of homemade cake.
Quality food for a good price.
Went here for breakfast and it was an interesting place to have a meal you do not feel guilty in eating. My wife is on a Whole 30 diet and she quickly found something she could enjoy by just removing a couple of ingredients (Warrior Bowl). I had the Clean Plate which had just the right amount of food. The only suggestion would be to post up something that stated you order prior to sitting. I came when a lot was happening. With a Yoga session about to start (this appeared to be upstairs) and a line at the counter, a first timer would not really know what is going on since there is not a host to greet you at the door. This place is definetly a must try.
We have a daughter who is sensitive to gluten and eggs. It is a rarity to find a place where she can eat and we all like the food. She had an oatmeal bowl that was like a piece of pie with dried fruit that she loved and because she didn't eat much for dinner had a granola with almond milk. My other daughter had fabulous pancakes which I shared. My husband had the scramble of the day. Everything was delicious and beautifully plated. Friendly staff too. Definitely, worth driving a few minutes out of your way to eat here.
My first ever gluten-free restaurant. I was surprised at how many choices they had to offer! We ordered cappuccino and although they didn't use whole milk, I tasted no difference which is great. The eggs and potato breakfast dish was really good, too. We lounged outside in their backyard and it was perfect. I'd definitely come back here again!
