I want to take time to say Thank you to Professor Daniel and his Team Shark members. I decided to make an investment to my health and take the 42 day challenge. Every single one of the Team Shark members have made all of us new members feel very welcomed on a daily basis. Everyone shares their feedback, their techniques, their knowledge, and most importantly their encouragement with us. All members are a reflection of our leader Professor Daniel which is pure passion, humbleness and camaraderie. Day 1, my gas tank was out during the warm-ups. My energy level was exhausted however the team got behind us and helped us dig deep within our limits to continue. Today after my 3rd week of training and the meal plan given to us, my energy level and stamina are 300% stronger and my weight is healthily going down. I strongly recommend everyone interested to join. If I can do it, you can too!! This has been the best decision I have made, and my body in return thank me when I achieve my goal!

I'm only about two and a half months into training with Daniel, but I feel like I've been taught a lot in this short span of time. Everyone I've met so far with Sharks BJJ has been helpful and accommodating. I'm excited to see the progression of things.

If you're wanting to get great results, feel apart of a team/family, grow mentally and physically then no need to look further. Professor Daniel loves his students and the success of them ALL! I know he prays daily for their health and strength so that they too can become amazing champs. He puts his whole heart into every single student and it shows. So proud to be apart of Team Shark BJJ!!

Team Shark BJJ is an inclusive, respecting, and welcoming environment. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to come and check out the free class. Every step of the way I was encouraged and felt welcomed. The schedule flexibility was also something that was big for me. I don't necessarily have the world's best schedule but Daniel showed me his current schedule lineup and it seems like I could always sneak a class in even with my crazy hours. I'm looking forward to signing up and starting my BJJ Journey.

Not for me..
Would not suggest this place long term for anyone.. punch card would be your best bet. I attended this academy for a little over a year and found out i was expecting .. prior to my signing I was told as a selling point if anything such as a pregnancy would happen I could have my contract frozen during that time period. Well, that time came and upon bringing it up to the owner/professor, he was reluctant at freezing my account during my pregnancy and insisted that my Husband who was already paying $160 a mo. on a 2 year contract just for himself, payments made on Autodraft, start helping out with classes. Even before I was expecting my husband would help with classes and pay full tuition, but that was never his obligation. Finally he did agree to freeze the account, and about 3 months later he started charging me again saying he would no longer freeze my account & if I wanted to cease my charges that I would have to cancel..then we come to find out that the Daniel is running around spreading lies that we owe all this money. This was the straw that broke the camel's back.. of course there are other reason for choosing to leave.. but here are some reasons outside of the gym to consider.. anytime he does get a bad or truthful review he will ask his students to offset them with an awesome review.. but there is truth in the bad reviews you do see..

Heads up: when you leave the gym and discuss with to him face to face he will be fine with it, until you walk out.. then he will play the victim, state reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with your departure, make ridiculous posts on FB, & complain to others.. anyone who leaves his gym, he will refer to as "poosies" (sick, I know, but this is to illustrate a point of what you are dealing with)... this happens often and is a recurring event.

His students are paying for a prepaid service!! Making it a service liability on his part.. a service that was not being met considering the hefty contract membership (anyone who is a dedicated practitioner or competitor would know exactly what I am referring to.)

Response to your reply:
'Options to pay you'?? We owed you nothing!! I never came to you for advise/help, that was you to my husband. Also, you honoring your word & doing the right thing doesn't mean ppl owe you. You said u would freeze my account when i signed my contract.
I am speaking as a paying customer/former student, not as the business owner/professor.
Perhaps you should stay home because clearly being a professor or a professional is not for you. The business ran a lot better with your wife as manager..you took advantage of that situation and screwed that up too.. you really are one to talk especially with all of the 'mistakes' in your closet, personally and professionally.. trying to bring up past mistakes lol!! Stick to the topic, Daniel and translator ... don't Gaslight and sprinkle BS, eh?

YOU give yourself and your gym a bad reputation on social media, in real life and throughout the BJJ community long ago before anyone stepped foot in your gym. Got it? Probably not. You can tell/warn your translator of that.. or maybe they will find that out for themselves the hard way as everyone else does.. I saw potential in you and the gym too, Daniel. Despite the warnings and stories from other former students and other gyms.. unfortunately that potential i saw withered away.

YOU use people and expect charity from your students. I could go on and on, but i wont play into your game. Go ahead and delete and edit your response from all you trash talking you just made. The reason for my response is because you are desperately reaching out & trying to talk trash about my family & harass under false pretenses so i felt the need for such feedback. You are doing that to us, you have done it before to others.. this is no secret.. that's just what you do.

This had to be the best decision I've ever made. Professor took me in and was always willing to help me. I love this place so much I can't see myself stopping

Mr. Daniel does not understand that his gym is not like buying a BMW car at the dealership, THAT is a product you receive upfront in full (this is the example he likes to give very often).
His students are paying for a prepaid service!! Making it a service liability on his part.. a service that was not being met considering the hefty contract membership students do pay.. (anyone who is a dedicated practitioner or competitor should know exactly what I am referring to.)

There are some wonderful people/training partners/friends we met at the gym.. I do believe they made this experience worth while and wish them the best..

Other post was deleted or something because I couldn't find it but here it is again. I stay committed to giving this place one star

Having to deal with immature post like below and being "reminded" to check in on fb again and again r y me and my family will be going elsewhere soon. Put your problems somewhere else. Please leave the drama at home n be more mature I'm sure other gyms give a lot more for less drama and money. Hope this is a wake up call Just Saying.

The best decision I have made. My son was having a problem with another kid at school, it was hard for him to concentrate on school since the other kid was bullying him. I decide to enroll my son to be able to defend himself from the other kid before it got fiscal. Since the moment I came to visit the professor Daniel Pinheiro, I knew it was going to be for the best interest of my son. I explain the situation that my son was having and he told me to bring him for a tryout that same day. We came, he got to know my son, he did the tryout and since that day my son has been coming to class without losing interest, I'm so happy to be part of the Team Shark family. It's been two months and my son not only improve the situation at school but his behavior has changed too. Daniel takes the time to teach them one on one, he built the kids confidence and gain their respect and trust. I recommend it more than 100%. The others parents make you feel good with respect but most important like a family. We are a family!!!

I am extremely happy with my experience at Team Shark BJJ. Professor Daniel has made my BJJ journey fun and exciting. I am completely new to the sport, and Professor has made me feel included from the beginning. Professor Daniel is great with the kids and makes you work hard.

Well I was thinking of coming to this school. All the pictures look awesome and the atmosphere looks great but after reading many of the response (good and bad) I feel that my money would carry more value if I were to invest it into a different school. Sorry prof. Daniel but it seems honesty is the best response to any question. Good Luck sir with your business.

We've been at it for just over a year now. All 3 of our children are involved as a physical activity, sport and discipline. Our middle son, Camden, has come leaps and bounds in confidence. We see it in his everyday behavior. The Silent One is no longer silent. All 3 have learned the benefits to hard training, they've overcome loses and they've done it all with respect. They don't earn participation trophies or false awards for just showing up, they'll be told "no," corrected when wrong, counselled when needed too. For what is offered, the price is fair and the bond with the other students, Adults AND Children alike, is great. Every person who steps on the mat is there for the benefit of another.
Professor Daniel Pinheiro maintains his pursuit of a distinguished art and lays the burden of growth on the student. Meaning, the student wont grow just because you pay your membership fees. They need to participate, show progression and be a member of Team Shark. They can't be a fly on the wall or someone's shadow.
You have nothing to lose by taking a free class, walking in to watch a class, or even talking to any of the students or parents involved. JiuJitsu levels the field. My 3 boys are all of different statures, they each have a benefit to their size or skill and they're learning to fine tune it just right.
Team Shark BJJ grows together.

Professor is a great, very skilled, with high knowledge of the sport. He is an excellent coach as well. I wish I would've found this class a lot earlier, but I am glad that I still found it.

Excellent instruction from top notch bjj black belt Daniel Pinehiro. Friendly atmosphere and clean, large facility. Flexible schedule and showers available if you are in a hurry to get somewhere. Great seminars with bjj and judo champions from around the world.

Team Shark is a great place to train! I currently practice two martial arts, one for several years and BJJ for the last year and a half. Professor Daniels' top priority is the student. He exhibits all the qualities you want in a coach. Daniel is competitive and driven and continues to improve our gym and team. His knowledge and passion for this art and his desire for the students' improvement is what I want from a teacher.

After reading the reviews here I thought I'd give mine too.
Of all the dojos where I have trained this is the one where I feel at home. The team is like my family and we try to support each other on and off the mats. All of my team mates are like my brothers and sisters.
I know some people complain about prices and contracts. Those people forgot that Team Shark offers nice discounts to people who have good attendance so we are rewarded for being dedicated.
The school is always looking to bring people in, so professor always has new specials for everyone every month. I know gis can be expensive, but professor wll always work something out if you ask.
Anyway I love this school. I love the people andI never want to train anywhere else because at Team Shark I know I will be a champion.

My son and I both train at team shark and we love it. Professor Daniel has been nothing but professional and caring to my needs as well as my sons. My son has been with team shark for almost 2 years I have been with them for eight months ..... professor Daniel has been so patient with me as I am 40 years old and overweight he pushed me to keep going when I felt like stopping and he made sure to go step-by-step so that I actually understood what I was doing. Unfortunately everybody has an Has an opinion; some may have valid points and some may just be talking outward to cause Rucus! As far as the cost, it would be nice to have a discount since we both train there but business is business.... I love this gym!! I have met some amazing people here who are truly patient and take into consideration I'm still learning. I would recommend this gym to anyone who asked

Giving this facility a 1 star is way to much. I was with Team Shark for a very long time. I moved on to other facility that was more family orientated and more welcoming. Through the time I was there, I notice Daniel (who is the not a very professional professor) talking about other team mates during class, being a cyber bully, belittling members after competition and talking about team members personal lives, instead of being a coach and giving advise. I've been in sports my whole life and NEVER seen a clown show like this. I DO NOT recommend this facility to anyone, unless you want to pay for a show.

Daniel, here is some advise for you.... Man up, stop living off your in-laws, treat your students with some respect, stop going on vacation after charging for belt promotions, stop hitting on the wife's in class knowing your wife is managing the office, unblock those who you bully on-line so they may have a chance to defend themselves and maybe one day the world of BJJ will consider you a Coach again.

I have recently begun my journey of BJJ with Team Shark and I already love the sport! I enjoy working with my team everyday and look forward to coming to class. Professor Daniel always has my best interest and motivates and encourages me through his example and performance. I feel a bond with my team/gym that is genuine and hard to come by. I forward to my growth with the team and to one day proudly representing the Team Shark Competition Team. Great place to train for all ages. This experience has given me much more than I could have imagined. Highly recommended for anyone who wants self improvement, fat loss, physical conditioning, self-defense, or to become a better performance athlete.

Take it from me as a police officer, this is the best training I ever did I became a part of a family not just a team. BJJ training is a great experience especially when you get learn from a great leader Daniel Pinheiro.

Amazing experience training with a 4x world champ. I drive 2 hours to come train here and i never regret a class that I've had there. Every time i leave the gym i feel that i have attained new knowledge for my bjj. Its hard work but if it were easy everyone would be doing it! I am proud that i earn my promotions through hard work and tough training! Daniel is very helpful with everything as long as you ask him. Thank you Daniel for your wisdom
