Just beginning my fitness journey at Gold's Gym (again, but I am in it to win it this time!). Awesome gym for the monthly membership price ( I pay 55$ a month and 25$ to start). Pool, jacuzzi, sauna, awesome classes, great workout equipment. Noelle is my fitness coach. She is absolutely awesome! She really showed me she cares about me reaching my goals. Also, Golds Gym has an app that offers workouts guided by a coach, set to your own music. I just cant say enough about Gold's Gym. If you are looking to get the most bang for your buck when it comes to a workout spot, this is it!
Nice gym, has everything that a Gold's gym usually has. The only thing is that the pool area is kinda dirty. Needs some cleaning done on the tiles. Also the hot tub is not hot enough. The gym atmosphere is chill with the music not too loud.
Has a pool. I had to remove a star due to the fact the gym wasn't opened on time this is the second time i've experienced this at this location. I even went later than usual and they weren't open yet. I'm sure that there's a explanation but some notice would be nice the day before.
Really liked this Golds! Theres a lot of equipment and vibe was really centered towards lifting... Didn't feel judged like at planet fitness hahaha if you're a serious lifter go to this one... They're not gonna get after you for actually being strong like at some gyms...

Great place for swimming and outlet for training for your health and great place to talk and meet poeple who are interested in there health as well.
The facility is large, that's about the only thing this place has going for it. The people that go here are the worst. Seriously, you need your mom to come rerack the weights for you? Slamming the weights and yelling, literally yelling, during lifts like idiots. Oh and don't bother telling the staff about it, they don't enforce their rules. (they literally told me they don't). They are also predatory with their fees and charges. If you lose your debit card, better let them know as soon as you order a new one. Got hit with $40 in fees for the stolen card not working. When I tried to explain the situation, the manager's stance was essentially "F you, pay me." Goodfellas style. So yeah, predatory.
Stay away if there is literally any other option for you.

about 3 months ago there has been a new guy working the front desk that is always late! This morning he showed up at 6 am.. there were people outside waiting on him! This is very inconvenient for the ones that take the time to get up and drive over there to beat the crowds and get their workout done! Last time he was late the gym opened up at 545. They need someone that is more reliable that can be there to open up at 5 am like it should be. Needless to say... I walked in just to shower since I had to be at work by 7! GREAT way to start the day!

Top 3 favorite Golds gyms in San Antonio between Potranco, SW Miltary, and This location. They have tons of equipment, boxing area, sauna, and classes. Front desk is always friendly and helpful. Most def recommend this location.
The swimming pool's bottom was dirty like it was on my last visit. I brought it to the attention of the front staff but evidently nothing was done. There's no excuse for a dirty pool at a golds gym.
Our first time here. Its okay. Nothing to brag about. Difference is that it has a sled and a track that is inside the gym. The one in Live oak and New Braunfels do not have track or sled. They do have a couple of machines that the other two locations don't have.
This gym is usually too busy to get a good workout. The members never put their weights back so it makes it difficult to find the weight you need.
The facilities are so clean and well kept and the instructors are amazing! Highly recommend!

Not the newest Gold's, but it's usually pretty empty and a good place to get a work out.
Definitely better than the Planet Fitness next door, but you do get your full course of lunks at Golds. Hoarding dumbbells is commonplace here, but so far people are more approachable than the local PF. Decent gear if you're versatile in the equipment you use. Many options!

Freddy and the weekend crew are always helpful and happy to greet you when you arrive. The cardio cinema is awesome.

Started a membership here yesterday after being greatly disappointed with Planet Fitness. May I just start by saying that the gentleman who helped me, Alejandro, is an absolute benefit to Gold's. He was extremely professional, and absolutely radiated enthusiasm in regards to health and fitness. Sign up was a breeze, and the pool is such a huge benefit! I look forward to working out here for a while!
After 6-7 years of coming to this gym as a regular I utilized many of the amenities it had to offer. One of the reasons why I joined this gym is because of the kids club. Having two children they would come with me while I worked out. I was just in the past month with my daughter and there was no issue. I walked in this past Monday evening with my two children at the check in desk they ask me if the kids have been signed up? I said signed up for what? This was so new to me. If I had signed them up as an add on to my membership which is 12 additional dollars and I still have to pay my membership fees. I was very confused because in over the 6-7 year span had never known or was ever notified that such change had taken place. The front desk associated brushed me to the side and continued to check people in as I was trying to adress the issue about the change. She didn't offer any form of help but that I had to pay four dollars per child to utilize I service I had never ever had to pay for in the past. The next day which was Tuesday I came in at my regular time as always after 1 I decided to take my issue up with what I believe was management but didn't feel so. I asked to speak with a young lady and she was very puzzled as why I wanted to have a conversation with her because she roller her eyes and seemed surprised. I brought up the issue and told her about what happened and said the change had been made around christmas and I explained to her I had just been in about a month or so on a Saturday with my daughter with no issues. She offered no help and commented and said that she never knew I had kids.I took that to the heart because an assumption like that should have never be made if you don't even know me. I have two employees of yours that follow me on social media and know I have children. I didn't think that was very professional on her end. I was never notified of this change and I would think it would be Gold's Gym's responsibility to make me aware of these changes. What will happen next? My membership fee go up without me knowing or nobody notifying me? Will definitely be reconsidering a new gym home. The three stars is for the staff they have been so sweet to me especially the cleaning lady she's always in there working hard and Freddie who has been the only one who has lasted out of the whole time I have been there.
The staff were friendly and I enjoyed the yoga class. Nice place. Took off a star for location. Balcones Heights has a traffic camera near here. Had to pay almost $100 mail citation for slowing down instead of coming to a complete stop when taking a right on a red light. Not coming back to this "city within a city"
