The bad billing reviews on here are true.
I was charged for monthly PT sessions despite specifically saying I just wanted to try PT for a month and wanted to PAY UPFRONT for the cost.
The associate does this incorrectly (charging me 4 individual monthly fees that need to be cancelled individually) then gaslights me saying I wanted a monthly plan as if he knows my financial circumstances more than I do.
The manager refuses to give me a refund despite the error being theirs and not mine. This has cost me dearly.
Mens locker has no restroom, you need to go downstairs and hope the unisex restroom is not taken. Pool area has been under construction. I was given a towel that had make up on it, most machines out of order, some have no sign although they are malfunctioning. It goes on and on. Sorry, I usually give good ratings to Golds gym however, this one needs a lot of work.
I like the group classes here. The instructors are really good. I have tried body pump (Carrie and Dave) and Zumba (Lynn, Christina, Kim and Felipe). They are all.great.
Great gym a variety of people there on different levels so no one feels overwhelmed and the staff is really great ready to answer any questions you have over all this is the best golds I've been to yet. Yes the equipment is fairly used but still holds up very well had no issues with them and its not colored that eye sore purple like how other "gyms" like their equipment to look.
I cannot attest to the bad reviews about management, as this isn't my home gym and I haven't had dealings with them.
However, many of the negative reviews are about the age or cleanliness of this gym. That's sad to me, because it's a fantastic gym, just from another time. If you like metal plates, no unnecessarily huge windows, and sturdy equipment, this is your gym. It's a typical 1980-90's style gym, and it's unfortunate that so many need it to be a corporate clone of another modern Gold's to be happy.
Now I just need to find an 1970-80's style gym. I hate to think what some of these reviewers would think if they saw what THOSE were like, haha.
This place is beyond dirty and disgusting, I had been a member for almost 5 months, at the time when I enrolled, they had a promotion where you get a $50 rebate gift card, they told me I will receive it once I make my first monthly payment which I did, i was promised a two 3D scan that also I did not get. I was very patient ,always paying my membership on time to get at the end the worst customer service and the assistant manager told me go learn English, then come talk to me, Jennifer the GM refused to talk to me and said that I can't do anything to help you. She was very rude, unprofessional an lacking sense of responsibility and professionalism.
They told me if you dont like it here, cancel your membership so, I AM CANCELLING MY MEMBERSHIP, and taking my business somewhere else where I will be appreciated.
NB: I reached out to corporation yesterday, I told them about the issue, they provide me with a claim number and they said they will take the necessary actions to solve the issue and teach these two employees with a managerial position how to be a good manager, and treat customers with respect because at the end of the day we pay your salary.
PLEASE people don't bring anymore business to this location, as matter fact that place will closed in the near future according to the lady I spoke with yesterday.
Be aware of newly person NINA daycare. Yes almost all the staff have changed withing the few months....she Has an attitude and apparently has NO patience for children. Which is awd since she works in the gym daycare. Apparently, because of my 2 yo crying and throwing a typical baby toddler tantrum she saw it unmanageable and blamed him for "scratching her" last visit and... coming into today and dropping off my children, she addressed to me (already eyeing my children), that my two year old will not be allowed if that tantrum is allowed again and that quote, 'THIS IS NOT A DAYCARE'......really? As a mother paying for gym daycare and having appropriate people assigned to such areas as vulnerable as the children area and not having a person who looks miserable and has no patience for children. If she could understand and empathize with a single mother trying to get back in shape and not worry in the back of her mind about this new girl assigned in the gym daycare looking after my little ones. I will and plan soon to discuss this issue soon with management. I've been going to this gym off and on with no problem with daycare until this rude staff came on board. Message: if you are not happy then that area of the gym may not be a fit for you. **Will follow up with a review after issue has been discussed and addressed.

Is this location going out of business? Thank goodness there are other locations because this is the worst golds gym i have ever been to you. Its almost like its been abandoned. The gym equipment is old and dirty. The carpets are filthy. The pool has been out of commission for months without any appearance that work is being done to it. The pool is a major selling point for this location and to be closed down, its not worth the extra cost of having access to it. The few times I was there, the toilets in the mens locker room were out of order for several weeks. The mens locker room s a mess. About half of the lockers are not functioning. The carpet is stained. The shower area is shameful. The ceiling is peeling with mold spots all over it. The soap dispensers are often empty. If I didn't know any better, I would think that this golds gym is about to close down and management is just holding on for as long as they can.
Been coming to this gym for around 4 years. Over about the last six months it's gone to hell. 3 of the 4 toilets in the men's room are broken. (The two stalls. And a urinal.) Been that way for around three weeks. The pool has been out of commission for more than a month. The weights are never in order its unorganized constantly. (Granted that is a ton of the customers but still) And to top it all off I've seen tons of cockroaches on the floor. But I get charged 30 bucks every two weeks they cant seem to clean that place. It's just sad.
Good Gold's. Not super huge, not super busy, not (usually) filled with loud or slow people. Kept clean.

If I could give a lower review, I would. The new GM Justin is not only operating based on dishonesty, but is the most unprofessional person I've ever had the displeasure of speaking with. Gym looks run down, equipment is out dated and is broken a lot, dumbbells are damaged and old. When you try to cancel your membership, you will get hung up on, and this dude will keep your membership active, even though you are not wanting to keep the non-contracted membership active. Already see many reports to BBB regarding this guy and how he operates. Go to LA Fitness or planet fitness, or anytime fitness up the street. Membership costs less, their facilities are clean and maintained, and you don't have to deal with this dishonest person.

ı have never seen like that dirty pool there was dead beetle also there was dead fly even ı am not telling leaf in the pool . employess ıs good but someone care about pool and cleaning
This gym used to be one of the best but I see it going down slowly! Men's showers need desperate cleaning, it stinks and there's a lot of trash in there. Also, the music is VERY loud! I have told the staff a couple times to turn it down a bit, but no one is taking responsibility and they just ignore it -the music is crappy and stupid btw. Also, the gym floor is cluttered most of the time and again, no staff is taking responsibility to organize and put away weights! Towel service tends to be lacking at times, especially weekends. I am sad that this gym is going downhill! Time to look for alternative!
I've been going to this gym for more than 8 years. During that time, they renovated the pool area and have a kids care zone (which I never use because I don't have children).
This is one of the gyms that has a speed bag and heavy bag and 3 racquetball courts. They have a great cardio area downstairs and the weight room has everything you will need.
The treadmills upstairs however reach a very low max speed. Some of those treadmills stick when you run on them, so it throws off my running pace. I wish they would update those machines and fix the carpet upstairs as it is getting worn, especially near the boxing equipment.
They do have house gloves but the gloves are torn and used beyond belief. It is nice that they offered those things but they definitely need to be replaced. Also, there have been problems wot h guests taking towels as at this gym specifically, you need to pay extra to use their towel services.
Much nicer than the one on Babcock just has less equipment.
This is a great example of the older style SA gyms. It was previously a Spectrum gym. It has 2 levels, the locker rooms are upstairs. They have towel service and a sauna, steam room, whirlpool and indoor pool. Great location across from the Prue Rd Police station with one entrance and exit to the complex. I've never had any problems
The only golds gym where people actually work out. Clean and friendly great crowd of serious lifters.
I like Gold's, but this location is poorly managed. It is actually not kept up well, weights are never reracked and the showers are down right disgusting.
The Showers have a bad mold problem. It has steadily gotten worse the past few months since they cut back on cleaning crew. I was afraid to touch anything in there. not sure if the health inspectors need to be called out on this.
Used to be Ruby level. Recently downgraded to Gold, same price. The crowd, quality, and management is going downhill quickly. I loved this place
Update: Things have gotten much better recently, the influx of people calmed down and the management has been incredibly friendly and polite

Great place to workout. Staff is great and really helpful. The GM is a generally nice and helpful guy who makes everyone feel welcome. In off times this location quiets down quite a bit, making for a great place to workout.
This place has polite and helpful employees, but the management is awful. They are constantly having problems like no razors, lost parts on exercise machines, long-delayed repairs as simple as lamp replacements. The manager called me once, apologized for these deficiencies, promised to fix them, and then DID NOTHING. Even getting your telephone call answered can take forever with their new auto-answering system. The problem is entirely the fault of the management, not the regular employees.
So far so good, I started coming to this gym because they frequently offer yoga classes, which are amazing. The staff has been great, including management, who I frequently see making rounds. There is an indoor pool, women's only area, sauna, steam room and two studio classrooms. No issues yet. Yes equipment breaks, maybe if the patrons took responsibility as well (sanitizing, reracking, no slamming etc), itd happen less frequently.
