The sauna room was small i think ill stick with the military location

By far not the best gym membership I have had their doors in the restroom don't even work for privacy to go to the restroom. They are limited on weights sometimes and some of the equipment isn't adjustable because their missing pieces to the machines. I have had gold's,world gym, and planet fitness and by far I had better experience at other gyms than this one. They charge a 50-90 dollar fee to sign up to improve things yet nothing is being improve from what I see.

One of the few really good gyms in town. Great staff, lots of equipment. Great membership deals. Combo 6 is something you have to try. Tanning, Sauna coming SOON, 3D body scanning

Clean, multiple machines, dark area for those sensitive to light and plenty of room to move around. Being able to come in at 4am to work out is excellent as well!

Joined today with Alfred , He provided great customer service along with the rest of the staff . Enjoyed the classes they provided and looking forward to coming back tomorrow .

If your looking for a gym don't look any further!! This gym is amazing. They have so many machines and most of them with tv's. They do need to fix some of them but most wofk, they have a Dark cardio Room. A huge girls gym. They have a running track , Cycling class ,Zumba class, and a stretch area they also have another room to stretch privately. Massage chairs tanning room and they have an amazing training group with UBF! I signed up in February and they are like my second family. Well I'm always there . good vibes good people . Everyone is just there to improve themselves not be looking at other people! One more thing is for parents!! They have a HUGE children's daycare they have a basketball court a theater allot of toys! Tv's for the kids. I mean this childcare is pretty nice. The girls are so nice and they always have allot of them taking care of the kids. Not like at Golds when they only have 2 girls and there's always a waiting list. Tru Fit is the new gym to be at.

Absolutely the worst customer experience I have every encountered at this gym. Despite the website offering a trial to see if the gym is a good fit they refused to honor it when I arrived at the gym during a scheduled appointment. I will not be going back, I do not recommend this facility.

UPDATE. No, Tru fit has never reached out to me concerning this issue. This is a true and honest review. At this time after this customer service issue and false response I have no interest in pursuing the free trial.

They have to improve this gym. Constantly changing employees. Lottttttssssss of tv (not appropiate for a gym) and poor music.

Staff sucks, front desk sucks the most, no wonder they have a high turn over rate with employees, they have no ambition on keeping customers, place is dirty, equipment tends to be broken for a long period of time. Note! this is not an attack, this is simply a valid customer stating the facts, I'm not knocking the gym its self, I'm knocking the employees that are not on their jobs.

Great place to work out with many machines, no matter how loaded it may get there is always a free machine. There is an indoor track for walking. Plenty of free weights

The staff all of a sudden is being jerks to cyclists. They have theft problem here and they threatened to throw the bikes outside on their unbolted bike rack. Maybe have something secure and visible for bikes.

Ever since tru fit has taken over this place has become a dump. Pins are missing from many machines. A lot of equipment is broken or not working properly. Attachments are missing. It seems like they have zero cleaning done. Benches are ripping. To top all this off they now tell me i can no longer bring my bike inside and put it in the corner. They want me to take my bike outside and chain it to the bike rack which is not even bolted to the ground and you can't even see the bike rack from inside the building. They even went so far so to tell me that if i leave it inside again they will remove it and throw it outside. What kind of business does that. I suggest everyone take their business elsewhere, if you want clean, properly working machines and staff that is friendly and bicycle friendly.

Its a great gym.
Only thing that sucks about it is that it is ALWAYS at capacity for the day care. No matter what time of the day. Not sure how true it is but that seems to b an on going issue. Had i known id have this problem i wouldnt have signed up. Cant cancel cus im locked in for a year. So. Im pretty much screwed. If u have kids.. arrange for a plan b as far as baby sitting goes.

More stars would be appropriate if this gym was cleaned regularly. The women's locker room has overflowing trash on a regular basis. Management is unavailable, can't be reached by phone. I have photos to prove these claims! Unacceptable!

People please read the reviews ... Before joining this location... Ever since it changed to trufit this place SUCKS ..... The people who work there, they don't know what their doing .... Their randomly hiring people that know NOTHING !!... They are always changing staff .. It was better when it was freedom fitness ... For whatever reason freedom fitness is no more, they should've a least left the people who worked there before, they knew how to get alone with members at the gym....

Awesome gym, a lot of equipment, they no longer make shakes here, but cheap price, daycare too. We pay $30 for platinum membership, which means I can bring a friend for free. But only on weekends I think.

Men's restrooms are dirty! They need more maintenance. Great equipment, but needs more cleaning! Also, they charge $15 for a day pass! Freedom fitness always gave you passes and this place doesn't! Their management sucks as well lol

Place is an absolute joke!! So unprofessional, dirty, and rude staff when you bring these points up to them. Gym closed under freedom fitness and reopened under TruFit..goes to show why they were originally shut down. Closed my membership in 2016 come to find out my account was reopened this year without my consent. Noticed severally charges within a month ranging from $27 to $60 unauthorized. This seems to be a common problem with this gym by reading comments and other reviews. Crooked salesmen and management needs be reported to BBB and the police. Do not give this company your info at all!!!

I am currently a member at this gym and the main reason why I joined was for the classes and the wonderfully instructors but I wouldn't recommend anyone to go to this gym due to poor maitenence of the facility.

The women's bathroom is never cleaned there's nasty old bloody pads sitting in the restrooms all day. The zumba room floor is never swept there's hair balls floating all over the floor, and when you go to the front desk to ask someone to sweep the floor before class they all stand there and look at you crazy.

The AC in the zumba either never works or never gets turned on. So now your dancing in a sweat box with no circulating air and no one wants to do floor exercises because the floor is nasty.

Another class that I absolutely enjoy is the zumba class because the instructor is great and the class is awesome but most of the bikes don't work and the management has yet to get them fixed no matter how many people complain to the front desk.

The bikes being broken is a serious deal because someone can get seriously hurt but no one seems to care enough to get the bikes fixed.

The people at the front desk are really rude. When you walk in their are 5 to 6 people standing there doing nothing while 2 people are checking people in, some my question is you have all these people standing at the front desk doing but the zumba floor needs to be swept bikes need to be fixed, but they have time to just sit around and do nothing.

I use to love this gym! Really I did!!!! I go 5 days a week faithfully for my Zumba and spin fix. As of yesterday 3-27-18 they for what ever reason canceled all the spin classes and two of the best instructors class. Bs is all this is

Facility has a lot to offer! Women's only area, child care, cardio room, group exercise room (zumba, yoga, cycling, etc.), tanning, and massage bed and chairs. The cleanliness of the place is a big plus also! Staff and trainers always have a smile on their face:)

Loved this place better than PF.. and Nikki the sales rep not just drop dead gorgeous but friendly and supportive to your needs at the gym. Clean and not as busy as Golds equipment is good...

Was thinking about signing up but after reading these reviews it's a no go. Every valid complaint is followed up with an apology stating that most members don't feel this way but they are sorry you do. How about actually resolving the issue or reaching out personally? Also coming at your members for wearing white t-shirts or having their cell phone out around workout equipment? This isn't a hardcore gym, its advertising as a club, most of these people use smart devices and it isn't up to you to dictate their workout, know your customer and get a grip on your trainers if they are being rude, that means actually disciplining or terminating them not sitting back and telling the customer that the derogatory comments from the trainer are just motivational.

The gym was fine until I cancelled. I cancelled with written notice a year ago 15 days prior to my bill date just like the policy says. Its not even a membership, it was a month to month! Now a year later, I get an email saying that my membership is past due. This is the first communication I have received since I cancelled a year ago. And now they are turning me into collections even though I did exactly as I was supposed to do. This is ridiculous! Crooks! Don't go here!

I like this gym but it is way too hot. I can't focus on my workout because I feel like im about to pass out from the heat. Other than that, the staff is really nice and the womens only area is really cool.

This is a great Gym. Just don't take them up on the free training unless you are fully committed into getting the training they offer. I now feel uncomfortable going to the gym because the trainers seem to push the sale of training down your throat. They will even call you at home and really try not taking no for a answer. I just wanna enjoy the gym. I understand they may have a commission based job but unfortunately I can't afford their prices :/. I've been paying for my membership but in scared to go in and get bombarded with trading offers.

This is by far my favorite freedom fitness experience I've had . I feel I can work out with complete confidence! And the upstairs running tack is a definite plus!!! The staff is friendly and welcoming . Locker rooms are clean restrooms and showers are manageged . Definitely worth the VIP membership.

I love this gym but some of the members are gross. They don't wipe the machines after they use them leaving me to clean the machine before and after my use. I love the women's section as it offers comfort away from straying eyes in the main part of the gym. Women need to be a little more considerate about re-racking their weights after using them however. I'll watch them use some weights and when they are done, I'll watch them leave them on the floor in a random spot and pick up their things and go. Same goes for exercise mats. People don't clean them and leave them in random places on the floor. It's a bit warm in the gym which makes it a little hard to do cardio. I would LOVE to see the dark room be a few degrees cooler than the rest of the gym. I went to a gym in a different state not to long ago and their dark room was probably 66-67 and it was WONDERFUL to run in! I felt I could go for forever! So overall, some improvements I would love to see would be stronger enforcement of proper hygiene, re-racking of weights, and a cooler environment. If all of those could be improved, this place would definitely deserve a 5 star!

Lastly, I know that most gyms have the same issues with members. Freedom Fitness just has to take some steps to improve in a few areas which would put them ahead of the game since nobody can really beat their prices. I have a lot of other ideas of what can improve the environment but I don't want to bombard a review board with that.

I was working out on the ab machine on 9/24/17 I was approached by a staff member and was told that I'm not allowed to use my cell phone while I am on the floor, and went on to to inform that I am not supposed to occupy a machine for a long period of time even in between sets, I was singled out due to the fact that other members were sitting on machine taking a long rest period in between sets and talking on their phones, after he finished, for the rest of my time on the floor i felt that he was still watching me, as I c continued my work out i was facing the front desk i would catch still observing me, the reason why is that if he was not, then he would have seen the other members on machines not working out and on their phones, when i finished my work out on the machine I had to approach the staff member and had to point out the other people that were doing exactly what I was told was not acceptable, I have not gone back since and do not at this point if I want to return, I feel that I was discriminated against this individual and plan to file a complaint with the proper entity. This was at the location in San Antonio off of loop 410 and Bandera. I have been working there for almost a year and not ever been given a hard time by anybody, by staff or members, I go to work out and that's it, I don't talk to anybody, mind my own business, I don't even complain that the actual weight area with free weights is always occupied, you can never get a bench, I don't complain, I just on to next exercise, no problem. I am still frustrated and disappointed about this matter and strongly feel that I was discriminated against.
Update
Then why didnt your staff member who was continuously present after I was approached also make it clear to the other members who were not following the rules, he only approached them after I pointed it out to him, if you going to enforce these maybe you should not only continue to post the rules but also put a big sign on the front in regards to this issue, as yesterday there were still several people not following rules that I observed.
