I love the fact that its affordable and somewhat family oriented. However when it comes to finding a personal trainer. I feel like i was judged. The personal trainer that i spoke with, was more concerned on if i needed one now or if i was looking to get a free trial. Because of my response, she seems like she was not interested.

My visits to the Mays Family YMCA at Potranco have been tremendous. Staff members are always professional and knowledgeable regarding the sponsored activities. The facility is well maintained unlike some other fitness/activity facilities I've encountered. Thanks for your continued support.
Great place they have a library they have athletic classes weights an indoor lap pool and indoor heat swimming pool. The place is always clean. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. Restrooms are clean. It's a good fun safe environment and they offer even more than I posted. So stop by and check it out for yourself hope to see you there.
The swimming coach (Iris) is out of this world amazing. She strikes a tone that motivates and encourages while being firm. Kids gain stamina along with learning their strokes and breathing techniques. After going with another company for several months before coming to Iris's class, there's no one else I would ever recommend.
I enjoy your facility. It is always a pleasure to go work out. Water Zumba with Cynthia is so much fun. The day care is great my son likes it.

Best part about this locate is the variety of activities that they have planned that reach across different ages groups and interests. The pool also adds another level of activity and possibility that includes the entire staff is always friendly and attentive to questions and recommendations. Great place for all.

I signed up for the Saturday series of cooking classes that you have partnered with ChefSA to offer. I take my granddaughters ages 9 and 10. I am driving many long miles from downtown to Garden Ridge to Potranco to take them. It is a great class-well worth all the driving! I wish it was available at all the Y's.

Modern facilities not very costumer friendly: No towels, no soap, no water dispenser, lockers without padlocks. A big difference with YMCA Thousands Oaks where they offer that kind of amenities and so it is more pleasant for the user .
Coach James is so patient and great with our beginner bball player. We're very grateful for his coaching. Our daughter was hesitant to start playing but she really enjoys it.
The swim lessons teach at the level of each child so even if you start your child off in a class, if they are more advanced the teacher lets you know & moves them accordingly. We have loved the teachers we have had & I am extremely impressed with how small the classes are & yet how thorough they are in teaching.
Joined the Y shortly after moving here. So far I'm enjoying the classes and equipment. I love ActiveTrax! They'll set you up with it for free, and it's basically a virtual personal trainer that will take you through a strength training workout. You can print out your workouts there, but I use it on my phone. It even offers videos for every machine/exercise if you're not sure what to do. Great for those of us that feel clueless about all the equipment and what we should be using. I highly recommend it!

I absolutely love this place! The staff we have dealt with are all kind, supportive and understanding. I have a special needs daughter that loves everyone there; they make her feel comfortable. I can't imagine having to go anywhere else. Also, they have the library inside which is a calm change of pace after working out or swimming.
Awesome staff, great equipment, wonderful lifeguards for the indoor pool, variety of classes and even childcare... all in one familial environment! I couldn't ask for a better place to spend our time.

I like that it is definitely family orientated and you have a variety of options to do. There is child care for the little ones. The swimming pool is indoors which makes it possible to enjoy year-round. Staff is very nice and helpful

Nice location with good equipment and staff at front desk. The assistant childcare manager and childcare manager are absolutely terrible though. Rude, unprofessional, and disengaged. If you have the option make the drive to op schnapel where the childcare is much better with professional staff.
The staff, Micah & Aubrey (hope I spelled their names correctly) are so kind, caring, and fun. My daughter Arielle is normally very shy, but they bring out a very lively side to her. It warms my heart and I know without a doubt she's in the best care there. They are very interactive with the children and engage in conversation, fun and games with them regularly.
The staff is very friendly and helpful and the facility is very clean and modern. I love the childcare and kids programs (swimming, sports, etc) that are offered for my son and the convenience of being able to go workout while the kids are being watched by certified child care takers. My son loves the pool and it is a part of our weekly routine! Thanks for being a true example of a Christ centered organization and for all you all do!
We enjoy having a selection of youth programs to enroll our daughter in. She really likes the swim classes and the basketball clinic. She also likes to attend the holiday events you host. I really like the childcare option so I can workout while my children play and learn at the daycare area.
I am not a member however the YMCA has a program for my daughter's Special Olympic swim team to have there lessons there. I thank them for this. However on Monday Sept 11 2017 they finished at 7. I took her to rinse off and change. I used the handicap restroom for my self I left my phone on the small tash can on the wall. Went to finish with my girl. Still in the same area someone found my phone and kept it. You are probably a nember which it saddens me to think that you would stoop so low it had my license. In it. All you had to do was walk a small ways and find me. I would of blessed you and given what I had. I went to see if it was turned in and called everyday maybe just maybe you found it in your heart to turn it in. I cant afford a membership so i know you will see me in there until they finish. Please turn it in. I cant afford a member ship i surely cant afford another phone or replace all the the info i have along with pictures.

Very friendly staff. Facility does have some good equipment. All in all, not bad. However, the parking situation and the fact that management did next to nothing about the security of the parking lot is troubling. There have been a series of cars being "broken into" and nothing was done regarding security. I still wonder about my car and whether it will be safe, not stolen or vandalized. Therefore, 3 stars.
I love the corporate discount. The staff are very friendly and helpful. But there were a few machines that did not work in the gym. I had my child in a summer camp and my aunt was able to pick her up with out an ID, she was not even on the list of people who could pick her up. I'm sure this issues are fixable, other than that we love going there.
The Y is the best! And this location has the best people working there! We love it and are glad it's so close to home. They have basketball and swimming as well as exercise classes and weights of course.
Love our membership at YMCA. It is more family friendly than Golds Gym. Plenty of classes for the entire family. And love that the library is right there. First, take care of the body and then the mind.
