I was a member here for a full year. but after finding out of La fitness i had to cancel membership .. Even cancelling was a hustle . they kept billing me. once i called and ask why. they told me to come in person and fill up a cancellation form.

I joined adult swimming classes. They put me in advanced training lane after two classes since I knew some basics. In advanced training, the initial trainer was not that experienced, and wasted a week. But later on, got some good trainer who corrected my mistakes and taught, front stroke and back stroke. Now extended one more session and learning treading. Thanks to YMCA.

I've coached baseball and football in different leagues around Dallas, this is by far the best referee staff. Sports in the Fall season is tough with inclement weather and the communication from YMCA Richardson is amazing.

Richardson YMCA is a hidden gem and I cannot tell enough people about it. From the new cardio equipment to the amazing sports programs, and let's not leave out the group classes. This is a steal and more than a gym! Discounts received on kids activities if you are a member and on-site childcare....I could keep going.

This Y is fantastic and like a private club at times. The workout equipment is new and renovations continue. I like where this Y is headed and the all inclusive programs. My membership includes all the classes, programs and the work outs. Other clubs may be cheaper initially but as you add the class and programs the Y is the best price and facility for the money!

Just got new equipment on workout floor, group ex classes are great, especially Yoga! Great sense of community here.

The YMCA mission statement: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that help healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Core Values: Caring: to demonstrate a sincere concern for others, for their needs and well-being. If I could give 0 stars I would. I had to give one to write my poor review of this organization, since they stand so well on their mission statement!
After speaking with the head director of the Richardson YMCA, Nick. I am very disappointed with this organization, as he did not adhere to their mission statement. My son was a victim of a biased ref within their organization. My son fouled out in the first quarter in the summer basketball league. Has anyone ever heard of a kid fouling out in the first quarter within this organization. Not to mention, my kid has played basketball for several years, so I suppose in this game he completely forgot the game of basketball, or this ref just really had a sharp eye and caught all his short comings in this game, that all the other refs have missed before. Unfortunately, the ref continued to give my son foul after foul, as opposed to pulling him aside, encouraging him and explaining to him what he did wrong-I mean we are talking about a 10 yr. old kid! Nevertheless, he fouled out before the start of the second quarter in tears not knowing what he truly did. My claim for this ref being biased was dismissed, as per Nick the calls were validated as good calls according to the ref and other parents, which is the conclusion I was given. Even though this is not the first altercation I have experienced with this particular ref. In addition, while speaking to Nick he mentioned that his league or the Y's league was not meant for my kids. I am not sure what he meant by this. Does this not discriminate against the very foundation for what the Y stands for-"equality, or "Christian values?" I am not sure how he came to that conclusion being that my kids have played several years at the Y organization and now all of the sudden they are not fit for their league? I was told my that my claim was just mere opinion, so basically my son-who is innocent, because I am sure the ref's bias was against me, and who was a victim of a bias act from a ref within their organization does not matter, because the conclusion was that it was good calls. Wow, great response from a Christian organization and from a leader in authority. Due to this ref actions and the way Nick handled the situation, my kids will never play for the Y again. The league is bias, racist and does not truly stand by their mission statement!

We spend more than one hour to register our son ,there was a guy his name Humberto Adame he was unprofessional and rude we ask him about name of coach and he replied while just running around and didn't want to stop showing some respect while talking to us .People in front desk were more nice and polite and tried their best to help us.

I would not give this one star. This location does not adhere to what the YMCA stands for. They are for the chosen few- Richardson elite. Below is stated what they stand for...THIS IS FAR FROM WHAT IS PRACTICED AT THIS LOCATION.

The Y is for everyone. Our programs, services and initiatives enable kids to realize their potential, prepare teens for college, offer ways for families to have fun together, empower people to be healthier in spirit, mind and body; prepare people for employment, welcome and embrace newcomers and help foster a nationwide service ethic. And that's just the beginning.

Swim lessons in the summer are a highlight for my family. My daughter does private lessons and loves her instructor. She learned how to swim here and is now working towards swim team. Thanks

We played 2 seasons here and would never do it again. The lady in charge, Jean Crosby, does not take responsibility for anything. She hands all issues off to Humberto (sp) and issues still aren't dealt with. We would not recommend this YMCA to anyone. At least not while Jean is in charge. They need someone who will treat all the kids equally AND deal with their childish referees. I'd give it less stars if I could. You have been warned.
