Was not very many people, and I was there from 3:30 to about 4pm. Nice and quick workout.
Really wish I could give 0 stars. Terrible facility full of juiced up rig hands. No space to breathe, horrible apathetic staff members that will say whatever they need to say at signing to get you in the door. I was lied to relentlessly about my "non committal month to month" contract. Tried to cancel and was lied to about that until I got billed. Then when I inquire about my status with the club am barked at that Im stuck in a year contract. Liars, bad people, terrible club. Never had such a bad experience with a gym.
if you are a bodybuilder than this gym is not for you. This gym might as well change the name to planet fitness because NO GALLONS OF WATER ALLOWED OR STRINGERS. A gallon of water really. A gym is there for a person to workout and feel happy about themselves not worry about what new rule is about to be implemented. So I say if you are a beginner and want to have beginner results then get a membership. But seasoned lifters and pros this isn't a gym for you plus they are lacking is equipment.
I'm a membership holder here and have been getting a run around this morning on the phone with their customer service. I'm sorry for the poor review but they do not have a complaints department. Only people to complain about grievances or GMs or Regional Managers who have seem fit to not take phone calls. Just emails.
I went to the portal to update payment info. I click on transactions and see two scheduled drafts for around 48 dollars for "Gym Improvement". For 8/12/19 and for 8/12/20.
Recently a location in Midland Tx was taken out of commission forcing people who hold memberships to pack into the remaining two. My husband and I have complained about lack of cleanliness, the cramped fashion and old broken machines. I would think taking those constantly broken down machines out of service to at least relieve the congestion.
My grief is that they are worst off right now than gyms who cost 10 dollars a month when TruFit boast being a luxury gym. There is a constant worry of getting into an altercation with another patron here because of the gym set up. I asked if they plan on opening another gym to relieve the pressure after closing one and the corporate headquarters didn't have an answer. I said that them closing a gym in my area after signing my contract should allow memberships to at least air their grievances and to be allowed out of their contract. Much less apparently I'm funding gym improvements after the quality has gone down? Trufit is not living up to its "luxury gym" name at all. It is inexcusable to not have a department to hear these gripes but that's how you get reviews such as these.
Called about some $60 surcharge and they claim I threatened an employee which I dont recall using any foul language lmao. So they cancelled my membership and banned me like what??
The equipment is in decent condition based on the amount of gym goers that use it. The facility is clean and other than very crowded a great gym.

They have a big well equipped facility, it was pretty clean even at 7pm, very nice staff, and a reasonable day rate if you are not wanting a commitment.

1. Improvement
This gym has made extreme improvement over the last month
- No longer smells like bigfoots d***
- Washroom no longer looks muddled
- Washroom no longer smells like an abandoned porta potty
- New equipment
2. Manager is engaged and thoughful
3. They offer bottled water so you don't die from drinking Midland "water"
4. They care about your well being by offering bottled water
5. Offer a safe space from the meet heads
Things I don't like
________________________
1. Full of meet heads (downstairs)
2. You have to go upstairs to avoid meet heads
3. The free weights are never organized
* Solution to "thing 3" (1&2 you can't do anything about or the NMHA 'National Meet Head Association' will be on your case)
*** Ok back to solutions I don't want to get political here
1 - (best option) -
Have your front desk employees make sure free weights are organized and in the right spot periodically throughout the day (every hour is the best way to do this BECAUSE it will be less of a task and more of a upkeep once you get a routine)
*** To further explain option one if that wasn't enough
You are already paying them to be at work right? So why are they not working... 85% of the time they are on their phone looking at Instagram models doing absolutely nothing. Your not there to look cute at the front desk girls... you are there to do a job... and in my very blunt opinion this should be one of your jobs 'tasks'.
Ok that's enough of that.. you have a solution. Don't have the mentality that it doesn't matter because it does.. and if you want to run a sloppy business then so be it. It's not that hard. And I know for a fact you're loosing business over this very very simple thing.
AND PLEASE PLEASE DON'T RESPOND TO THIS WITH A 'well if you guys would just re-rack your weights then...' Unfortunately that is not how this works... Most of us do... but not in the right spot because we're not going to re-organize your entire f****** weight rack for you. Get a routine and stay on top of it (manager) and this issue will be resolved.

Spend more time taking off weights left on there by the lazy, finding weights left all over the place and cleaning up trash or cleaning equipment before you can use it then you do of what you actually went there to do. Super rude and lazy staff.
Overall I am happy with the gym. Just a couple of complaints. There is a bad odor that seems to come from the women's restroom, and the toilets in there don't flush sometimes. I wish the lockers would be fixed - many of them can't be closed. Also, the first 5 lockers on the bottom left as you walk into the women's locker room have been locked with the same locks for over 8 weeks so they can't be used. I asked the staff about this, they said those locks would be cut off. But they remain, and those lockers are unavailable. I believe policies should be enforced.
We switched from Planet to Heroes at the beginning of the year, we needed more weight selection & different equipment for our goals... BUT Heroes so far has been the dirtiest & unorganized gym I have ever been to. I'm sure the classes are good and maybe the employees are ok... but when you're trying to lift and the weights you need are scattered all over the whole gym because people dont re-rack OR you're tripping over weights OR the half empty water bottles laying around it takes away from your workout. If you need to use the locker rooms bring your own sanitizer/disinfectant cause you might get sick by just breathing the air. It's just disgusting. I try to clean up the trash and weights laying in my way but I clean up after my kids at home I dont expect to go to the gym to do the same.
1-members need to CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES! 2-EMPLOYEES are there to do their job which I assume is to greet members, prospects, and keep the gym clean? Maybe I'm wrong.... but if we ALL do our part and clean up after ourselves it would be a great place to spend time working out.
The gym isn't bad, has a variety of equipment that one could want. The Personal Training is a JOKE and needs massive improvements that start at the top of their staff. Would recommend the gym, but not the Personal Training. You will waste your money and time with them.
I've been to 2 other gyms in town FitFamily and Planet Fitness, this one is by far the best one that I have been to.
I have three complaints, from smallest to biggest...the smell. There is a very distinctive smell when you go up the stairs. Eventually you do get used to it, but sometimes as can be a little overwhelming. I don't know what it is but when I leave town for a week and go to one of my other gyms it's nice not to have that.
2: it's always packed in the weight area. Unless I go to the lady heros section, it's almost impossible to work out down stairs. It would be nice if they were able to open another location to combate this.
3 and most importantly parking. I can't explain how many times I have had to park at Starbucks, I understand that there isn't much you can do about this but there are so many work trucks that take up multiple spaces. Then when I get out after dark it makesme a little uncomforatable walking so far to my car.
Overall happy with the gym. I love RPM with Michaela she is a best and I am completely comfident with the cardio section, I just with that wish for minor improvements
even though it has amazing classes and stuff its not much on services and they lie. There is false adverting instead of 10.00 a month is more like 36.74 or something I had to pay and then even though I quit going the were still trying to charge me money then I get a letter saying I owe 400.00 something dollars. I liked the idea of child care but if your going to adv. your company do it right.

I'm a 68 year old male. Work out at least 4 days a week. Was visiting family in Midland and with help of Miguel, was able ti visit the Heroe's facility. Very impressed. Lots of space with well equipped areas to weight train, core work, cardio, body weight exercises, TRX, boxing/MMA...
Clean, large fitness center with lots of equipment. Found and used one of two Concept Rowers which I did not find in other Midland Gyms. Staff courteous and helpful. In one training area, I found and used KBs, BOSU , TRX, pullup bar, yoga mats, DBs and benches. Got my 1.5 hour workout in one area. Very pleased with this gym.
Their staff is always friendly and they keep the rooms really clean! Been going for a long time and really enjoy it.
I came from el paso working on midland for a short time, and I really like this gym, they have everything sauna, boxing, classes, cardio, heavy weights and everything. I really like this gym. I've been a memer from planet fitness for years and the one here at midland it is really really bad. I got membership today and I will continue going and the workers were really pollite it was a girl and a guy working that night that suggest me. Although the only thing i didnt like there is not water fountains working.
As far as equipment goes it's got everything you need. I like the Midland North location the best because it is cleaner and less "ghetto" than the Meta location. Only thing is it gets really crowded. Good luck getting on a bench or squat rack in the evenings or on weekends. One of the main things that attracted me about Heroes was that they offered child care so that I could drop my toddler off and get a workout in. This also helped my wife out a lot as she is an online student. All was well until one of the child care workers (Midland North) asked me when I came to pick my kid up one day if "he was slow." She said that he wouldn't respond to her when she spoke to him (he was 2, imagine that). I've never been more offended. I called management and I'm not sure what they did if anything. This same worker has made other inappropriate comments to wife on occasions concerning our child. This coupled with me getting calls in the middle of my workout all the time because my kid has done something just did it for me. The childcare workers obviously aren't good with kids and don't have any training in dealing with small children. I can no longer feel comfortable with my kid in their care. So this is what prompted me to cancel my membership, which is a shame because I actually liked working out there. Pay attention Heroes some of your employees are costing you money.
It's basically a usable gym but there's nothing inspiring about the ambiance, the state of the equipment, or the front desk staff.
Most of the front desk staff are cold. It seems like a few do most of the work. The ones that sit at the desk all day are either on their phones or gossiping with each other.
This location has great hours (24/7) but there's a lot to be desired. My top complaints are the fountains dispensing city water and lack of air circulation in every room. HEROES, are you really too cheap to install and replace water filters like any dignified establishment in town and provide some A/C or at least fans? The equipment is not bad but it's obviously aging. Some of it should be replaced or repaired, e.g. torn cushions, missing pins, squeaky cables. What's not as important but something that makes me not want to return are the wafts of weird smells encountered at the threshold of the upstairs locker rooms, dirty commodes and overall dingy bathrooms, and potholes in the parking lot. I don't see where the money from the membership fees is invested to provide the customers a great experience.
Equipment is aged but in acceptable condition. There is little to no proper gym etiquette; such as few members wipe down equipment even fewer use towels yet even less properly rack the weights when finished. The weight area is dirty even for an "old school" gym. The facilities are even worse. Obviously there was no cleaning performed over the weekend and on Monday morning I watched as one was cleaning the locker room. Shutting down areas during peak shower time, not sweeping before mopping. Definitely displays an atmosphere of lack quality or concern to provide a clean comfortable environment.
It's a great gym as far as what they have to offer. The only issue with the gym is the management time after time get complaints of their employees harassing and in some cases their the trainers are sleeping around with members. I over heard recently that there was an issue with a member and a trainer named "Matrix Alexander Lopez" to be exact that he was sleeping with a members wife and the member got suspended while the trainer that is employed there didn't get fired or suspended for his actions. A lot of members are leaving due to the lack of respect and professionalism that is carried at Heroes Fitness here in San Angelo tx. Be cautious friends or this could happen to you!
It has everything I need, I work in the oilfield like everyone else. So it deff. beats hauling my weights around, yes it's busy most of the time but that's typical; the fitness industry is booming, I usually use the gym on Meta and this location on the weekends. I was a member when it first open in San Angelo and then switched. I still use another gym in San Angelo. But while at work hero's is my gym. I agree that not all the staff is friendly, showers can be cleaner and weights are usually not rack. But I'm not here to make friends anyway and some of the guys I've ran into have been friendly (george) I love the atmosphere, a ton of the members are jacked and sometimes I feel a little insecure, it's not usual for me to go to a gym and be the smallest guy their, but mist of Thor time it motivates me. It seems like mist of the staff are in shape as well which I really respect being that they sell fitness. Over all im satisfied with the gym
This is a great gym for anyone, if you're a novice-expert you feel comfortable going here. They provide great classes and the equipment is acceptable.
The biggest problem are some of the employees. I go here maybe 1-2 times per day, and I always see them doing the same thing.... they're on their phones, behind the desk talking amongst themselves; meanwhile, weights are laying all over the place and customers are ignored (employees won't even greet or check customers coming in). Some employees are great, but the vast majority of employee customer service is the absolute poorest in the area.
If I had a closer option for another gym, that would be the only reason to consider leaving... that is, unless you don't want to pay for a membership and sneak in... feel free, these guys don't check nor care.

It's been three months. No change in staff personality, I can be as friendly as possible but some think they are too high and mighty for a "hello and goodbye". I'm finished being nice to the afternoon staff. Erma needs an attitude change.
