We've only been with the academy for a few days, but so far the experience is stellar. All the Sensei's and Shodan's (sp?) have been awesome. Our 10 year old, who tends to be impulsive and argumentative, has already been a slight bit calmer and has been COMPLETELY committed to the classes, going 4 times a week so far.
They were kind enough to allow us to attend an "introductory week" so he can test it before he signs up. During the sign-up process, Sensei Tom reviewed the "rules" with our son, including five core traits to adhere to both at home and at class if he wants to continue karate.
They also have a gym and dedicated quiet room for homework/work if the kids or adults need it.
Like I said, it's been awesome. Couldn't be happier with them!

I trained here myself as an adult and now my son trains here and I would never go anywhere else or send my child anywhere else. The instructors are incredibly well trained, respectful, incredible roll models and amazing people . This is not your typical "mcdojo" they really train your mind as well as your body and genuinely take interest in the success of every student both inside the dojo and outside of it .

we love this Karate academy. so good at teaching energetic kiddos discipline while at the same time keeping it engaging and fun. we especially love the games and nerf wars for fun.

Love Academy of Classical Karate! Our oldest had attended the Plano location for a few years and we switched to the McKinney location when they opened and now our youngest is taking classes there too! The instructors are fantastic and awesome with kids! Wouldn't take karate anywhere else!

The Academy of Classical Karate has brought their high level teachers from Plano to this new location, and it is just as wonderful as before. Expect the same quality instruction and great dojo community feel while learning traditional Japanese karate. The building is beautiful too, and appealing to sit and train in. Highly recommend checking out this extension of ACKD!
