Andrez Gomez and Krystal Lee
No doubt that all the way from the customer service to taking the time to educate us about new and improved full body workouts
Krystal Lee, and Andrez Gomez went above and BEYOND to exceed customer service and satisfaction.
We need more employees like them.
Excellent work .
To put it simply, it's a real good gym. Nothings perfect in this life, but this particular gym puts in extra effort. Yes, there is construction, but the owners are putting out money to keep it in good shape, and it shows.excellent equipment, friendly staff. I'm very happy with this gym.
I like the gym alot, but the new hammer strength barbell are trash the knurling is too passive to work properly. The older barbell have much better knurling.
Golds gym on dove, Mcallen, is the best. Way better than the one in Pharr mostly bc of size. Staff at both places are amazing. Never have a bad interaction.

Horrible service, I came in and was welcomed in a cold manner by a tall individual around 3 p.m. he wore a cap and had a beard. He was talking to his friends and employees while they kept me waiting to buy a water bottle. The people in the front have to learn people skills and understand that the customer comes first. Gym is ok, can make some adjustments on spacing but over all ok. Clean bathrooms, and the janitors are very nice rather they should be the ones in the front. I am unsure if the manger is the man that has no hair, if so he needs to change his attitude.

Great place to work out. Equipment is good quality and plenty of variety. However, i would give it 5 stars if staff was corteous, welcoming and friendlier. Also, the floor plan could drastically improve, some equipment is so close to one another that it is not even safe.

Great gym and a nice variety of equipment. Love the full court for basketball and raquet courts as well. Great selection of classes, a little something for everyone.
HELLO!! I'm from Brasil, I live in México and I Will move to Macallen the following month and I like to be part of the Gold's Gym team. Do you give my resume? I work in Gold's Gym of Aguascalientes, MX.
Great gym, great environment, great management and staff. Very enjoyable experience. Will return for a membership.
I LOVE THIS GYM! I have gone to others and always come back to GOLD'S! Dove location is personally my go-to, staff is always friendly and always greet you properly. It may always be busy but, why wouldn't it be?! Their fitness group classes are the $#!%! You must try one at least once.

This gym is a decent gym lots of equipment. 4 to 8 us so busy though if you put down a dumbbell or plate it will get stolen like a cockroach on a cheeto. Don't plan on doing any main leg workouts either 2 squat racks are always busy, Everyone spends more time talking to each other in the racks rather than lifting. Only one water fountain on main level has been broken for 3 weeks.
Outstanding front desk crew; Lauren, Raymond and Roly. Facility is by far the best in the area with very accessible rates( including the daycare and it's staff Anita and Elva)
Professional, knowledgeable and always willing to help.
Overall very satisfied with Gold's gym McAllen, Tx.
The only gym with a pool and Jacuzzi. Great teachers.
I really enjoy the BodyPump and spin classes. They push me to the limits.

Let us all keep in mind that this gym has been serving the valley ( Mcallen ) and surrounding cities for years....invariably the equipment has sustained constant use which is what it's intended for. Golds gym Management and staff have been overwhelming helpful in accommodating the influx of old and new customers which is incredibly difficult. Constantly cleaning and maintenance is no small chore. This golds gym has a variety of equipment as well as an outdoor very large pool ,two Jacuzzis, a sauna and steam room. ..they also have several different classes and I believe bjj..you can actually buy health supplements, golds gym t-shirts (men's and women's ) they have a child's care, tanning booth and massage bed ! There are plenty of lockers and you really can't find this in other gyms in the valley...Sure there are other gyms that charge less and when you join you realize there's not much to choose from...Golds gym by far exceeds the capabilities of other gyms and Oscar the manager happens to be a great and Noble person...I've met him before so I know.

Great gym, friendly staff, lots of classes with great instructors. Heated pool, boxing room, steam room and sauna. They're always upgrading things, and it's just a good gym for a great workout or to establish a yourself with a healthy community
The cotton cleaning rag needs to go and be replaced with paper cleaning supplies
My favorite gym. Friendly staff and yes raquetball court's.
This Gold's GYM is the worst ever., bad costumer service, they spand to much talking on each other, and let the costumer wating.

Smells like sweat. Old, dirty equipment. Employees are rude, lazy and sarcastic. Do not recommend this gym. Tru fit is way better equipment wise. And freedom fitness is a way better deal from all these choices. Save money. I have brought up issues with employee (leaky roof, broken and creaking equipment, spills on floor, smelly dirty water fountain) nothing was done. Employees are lazy too, lack proper skills to care for equipment. If I could rate a negative rating I would.
Gold's Gym is such a clean gym that has so many different options for working out. They keep up with the newest technology and fitness/exercise trends. Love this gym!!
worse place you can go to. I stop going to the gym because there was a lot of drama, the place smells horrible and the instructors are not professionals and always late for classes. General manager is never available to take care of problems or issues. I do not recommend this place at all.
This gym is run by thugs! A body pump instructor, "Daniel," whose classes frequently run late because he often starts too late and then wastes too much time between the segments, arrived late on June 8, 2017 by five minutes. By the time the class finished the last segment, it was well past the beginning time of the next class (it was supposed to begin at 7:30 PM), but he was still doing the stretching. By 7:36, a lot of people left and some were putting back their equipment on the racks. My husband, who was to be in the next class, walked in and was getting some paper towels in the back of the room. Daniel suddenly ran to him from the front of the room screaming all the way with the microphone still on, "Nobody don't respect me!" He repeated the same sentence again and again. He was drenched in sweat and angrily shoved his face onto my husband and chased him to the other side of the classroom, shouting the same words again and again. Daniel looked violent and he acted like a complete lunatic. It was Daniel who was being disrespectful and unreasonable. He should not take away other class's time from the beginning. Having someone in the back quietly getting some paper towels during the end of stretching time as was hardly "disruptive." Apparently, Daniel is very unstable and has some anger issues. Otherwise, he may have had a bad day and was looking for a chance to take it out on some innocent person. Whichever was the case, this was an incident that should never have happened.
We filed an incident report immediately at the desk. As recommended by the attendee of the front desk, my husband spoke with the manager, "Oscar" the next morning. Oscar offered no apology and told us quit if we want. I called back Oscar later to get the refunds for the month of June. Incredibly, Oscar made up an elaborate lie and taunted me: "Your husband admitted that he cussed to Daniel. I interviewed other people and they all said that your husband was rude." I knew he made up the lie because I was there watching the whole thing and my husband was very calm and never cussed Daniel. He never cussed anyone. I double checked with my husband after the phone call. My husband said "I never said I cussed Daniel, of course not, because I did not cuss anyone."
Oscar seems to lie with complete ease. There were very few people left in the room any more. I don't believe Oscar interviewed anyone. The whole thing was on the camera so he should have known what happened but flatly denied. If anyone actually was interviewed and said it was my husband, not Daniel, who was being rude (which I seriously doubt), that person did not see what happened or lied.
According to the management, for an instructor to scream angrily, chase a gym member around, shove his sweaty face onto a member's face, while grabbing an arm, was totally fine, whereas quietly getting some paper towels in the back 6 to 7 minutes after the next class was supposed to begin was rude enough that such violent outburst was justified.
The reason why Gold's Gym is still in business is because there are so few options in the Valley. We desperately need a Y here.
Good equipment - you have all you need to work out. Of course, that gym is biased much more to the hard core lifters and muscle heads - music wise, layout wise, decor, etc. The whole first floor will be fairly intimidating for those who aren't pro lifters or very familiar with advanced barbell moves and plate racks. That said, there is a separate cardio section on the top floor. However, the cardio floor lacks the best treadmills (e.g. Precor instead of LifeFitness) - you get better cardio equipment at the UTRGV Rec Center (although they don't have the gauntlet stair machines). They are friendly at the front desk and be me a free 3 day pass to explore the gym. But, prices moving ahead are way too steep and in general overpriced for what the gym is: often seems dingy, smelly, a bit old.
Yeah. They cleaned the pool
