They need to put in a recycling bin for all the preworkout cans their customers use. I would wear shower shoes in the shower.
I have been trying to cancel a membership over the phone for months. Talked to manger "Daisy" in October about cancelling my membership and personal trainer. I guess I missed in the fine print that you have to go in person to cancel, told her that wasn't happening since I live 5 hours away from Lubbock now. She tried arguing with me that I needed proof that I pay a lease or "major bill" to cancel. My membership renewed without them asking me about renewal. I don't have "major bills" or a lease, but she said I could cancel since the membership renewed. Had to pay close to $200 AGAIN since it takes 30 days to process the cancelation, which is super convenient for the gym to weasel out one last payment. Daisy promised me that my LAST payment would be 11/18, and that she would email me the cancelation paperwork so I have proof that I cancelled it. She didn't send it. Took 2 weeks to get ahold of her after leaving messages with other mangers and workers to call me back. Finally got her on the phone, and she sent the email. Checked my bank account today, AND ANOTHER PAYMENT HAS BEEN TAKEN OUT!!!! Completely ridiculous and unprofessional. Calling them in the morning to get them OUT of MY bank account. I would not do business here unless you want them to basically rob you while you jump through hoops to cancel with them.
Don't do it. It took 6 months, 3 bank overdraft fees, 2 cancellation forms, and a threat to sue them to get my membership discontinued. My year contract had expired and my membership was month to month. Now they don't want to pay back all of the wrongful drafts they made from my checking account.
Such a mess. Not worth it!
Overall great gym. Lots of equipment to choose from, and it stays pretty clean! Plus lots of free space and areas for stretching/circuit training.
This Bodyworks provides physical therapy through the Covenant medical system. I had to go through physical therapy here due to an accident and the therapist there, Dustin, is fantastic at what he does. He didn't do anything extreme in the beginning but made sure to push me when I was progressing, asking for an update on how I was feeling every time I would come in. We would use some of the equipment at the gym and everything seemed fairly clean. I would highly recommend going with Dustin if you have any physical therapy needs!

You would think that gyms would want new comers to have a good experience so that they feel inclined to come back and obtain a membership... nope, not the case here. On my first visit I was practically kicked out. The girl at the front counter was unwilling to accommodate or be considerate. I would NEVER spend my hard earned money on a bogus, inconsiderate gym such as Bodyworks on 34th.

The facilities are great, but UBF, their contracted trainers, suck. If you sign up for for training, good luck getting them to stay in touch with you, and, if you're not getting what is promised (which it very likely), good luck getting out of your contract. UBF expects you to pay for their services, even when they fail to comply with the terms.

Love it... awesome! Variety of services and locations is outstanding.
I have only one big issue with this gym. The equipment is never cleaned off by staff. I understand members tend to not do this but staff should at least wipe down equipment every so often with bleach wipes. I recently got scraped by a piece of equipment and it turned into a bad staph infection, after 4 antibiotics and a wound care doctor it finally has healed. Members be aware.

Nice workout place, it gets packed around 6pm 8pm though.
I started going here when I moved to Lubbock, TX during the summer of 2017. So far it's a great gym. My first complaint is that a lot of the equipment is old or run down, but they work just fine. My second complaint is that plates are re-racked with no care to weight or order, though that is more of a gym patron thing. It may be fixed with more areas to rack your plates that have clear signage what plate goes where. It does get slightly crowded around 6-8 on weekdays. Minor complaints, overall a great gym.
Love this gym. There helping me lose so much weight.
Would definitely give a 0 if possible. I started my membership the last day of August when there was a deal that for $5 you could start your membership versus the $159 I believe is what it was. So I went with a friend and the guy that helped me his name was Josh Hellums and he was nice but very pushy. I would ask questions and he would never give me a direct answer but since it seemed like a good deal I went ahead and signed up. I didn't want anything long term since I haven't dedicated to working out so I went with the month to month. Well this morning I check and make sure it went through and sure enough it had but it had also doubled! I called them and they looked up my file and it said I had infact signed up for the 12 month! Which he and I did not discuss, in fact I asked several times that if I needed to I could cancel. Well now I'm being forced to pay $75 just to cancel a program that I didn't want because I got stuck with a pushy employee that's there for the pay. I also spoke to the general manger, David whatever he couldn't have sounded like he cared less. Basically gave me the same run around. Can't believe the horrible customer service. UPDATE: Now it's a couple weeks later cause I live a busy life, I haven't used my membership ONCE yet every single person I talk to doesn't seem to care about anything but the money. I finally called customer service to cancel because I was told I could do so as long as I paid $75. Well Customer service is downright rude, and apparently there is no cancellation fee you get what you get for however long you were drug into it unless you move a certain distance. Anyways, if I'm not able to cancel this membership I might have to take legal actions, since I'm clearly not the only one they've screwed over with an agreement. I've never dealt with something so ridiculous. See ya soon Bodyworks.
I've only gotten a free trial here, so I have not yet look into pricing. They have a ton of equipment, enought give you plenty of variety in your workout every day you visit. The staff is friendly. They offer a great variety of fitness classes and a juice bar where they make protein shakes. Tanning beds are available and a basketball court. Saying this, the gym does need a lot maintenance. They guy's restroom is leaking bad from the ceiling and the walls need new paint (edit : leak was fixed promptly) . A lot of the equipment needs cleaning and a new paint spray, you can tell they been through a lot. The rest of the facility looks relatively clean. There are no excessive set of strick rules (that I know) which is a great plus for me. I'll definitely be back.
Should be 0 stars. went in with my boyfriend because we wanted to start working out for new years. we got a thing in the mail for free 30 days we wanted to try it for a month see if we would use it before we joined. we were shown around and it was pretty dirty and it kind of smelled and the guy was rude. the locker room was gross . after we looked around we told we weren't really serious about working out and we had to join then. we were told we couldn't try it because they were out of them but to join it was only $29 instead of $150 each but only if we joined then for a year! the guy talking was cocky and kept asking if we were serious and was so rude. he even got his manager and he was old and rude to. Do NOT Recommend.
