The gym closed toward the end of March, 2020 due to COVID-19, yet they continued to charge their customers for the month of April. I requested a refund for the month of April and they are refusing to do so, after misleading me that they would once the gym opens again. Now, they tell me they won't refund me. Really? This is exactly how you lose a customer. Still confused?

They have no customer service available. While its understandable the facilities HAVE to be closed during the pandemic, someone should be able to attend customers. People LOST their jobs and cant afford to be paying a full price membership for something that is closed and will most likely not use even when open again due to safety concerns. The fact that they completely disregarded their customers is very unprofessional.

I finally got an email response where I was promised both a refund for my payment and the cancellation of my account. Turns out they did neither. I just got charged again, despite the fact that I explained the person who emailed me that I had lost my job and am struggling. They simply do not care. No one answers. That person doesnt even care to respond emails anymore. They do not even allow voicemails. Simply hang up.

Once this is all over, companies will be remembered by how they acted during these trying times. I will get a job and hopefully one day feel safe enough to enroll at a gym at one point but I will never, ever, use this company again. Their callousness is astounding. Perhaps I would be less insulted if no one had ever answered, but the fact that they KNOW I cant afford the expense and their promise to cancel and refund only to continue to do and then refuse to communicate w me again, THAT is a slap in the face.

My experience with Youfit has been great thus far! I have been a member with the gym for some time now and I have had all positive experiences! I like that I can go to different locations with my membership, and the hours are good for me. I am a single mom so finding the perfect time to go workout is always a challenge for me. Also, as a mom, I wish you all offered classes for kids (yoga, stretching, cardio, etc.). My 6 year old would enjoy that!

I had to give them a star to send review, but I would give them a minus 0. Because I cancel my membership 03/26/19 by sending in a certified letter to this location which they were still taking payment out of my account (after been told they didn't receive the certified letter). So I sent all my copies of my certified records to their corporate offices, chargers were placed back into my account. Now fast forward 8 months and checking my account they have started back taking money out again & not only there's an increase in the amount. I've been emailed their corporate offices since November & I'm yet to get a response. I'm not just going to let them keep stealing from me. So watch your statement.

Youfit has been a wonderful experience. I love the environment, the people, and the childcare is excellent. I would fully recommend this gym to anyone looking for a safe workout zone!

Great Location! Clean facility and no waiting to utilize equipment! 5 Star all the way!

Clean with good equipment and tons of machines. I go to Crossfit for most of my working out, but I maintain a health club membership through my insurance for days that I can't make it to crossfit. I get access to a variety of different gyms in the area and in the past I'd been going to LA Fitness. One day I showed up to workout before work and it was closed for remodeling, so I decided to try out Youfit instead.

I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of equipment they have: lots of cardio machines of course, but also a lot of strength training machines and equipment. Even a couple of squat racks.

The atmosphere is nice there; I admit that I always feel intimidated in bigger gyms but the people at Youfit seem pretty chill and you don't have to wait around for equipment. Everything seems very clean and there are always paper towels and disinfectant to clean up with. The color scheme reminds me of mini golf or chuck e cheese or something but hey, I like it, and it's not like it matters what color anything is as long as you can get a good workout in. Doesn't really get busy except after work on the weekdays and even then there are still plenty of machines available if you need to wait for something specific. There are also extras like kettle bells, medicine and exercise balls, etc. LA Fitness doesn't have kettle bells so +1 for Youfit.

Deadlifts seem to be allowed or at least no one has bothered me when I've done them- I do try to do mine quietly though and I don't drop the bar onto the floor.

I think really my only complaint is the parking lot; there's maybe one tree that gives off the tiniest bit of shade and in the Texas weather that kind of sucks, but there's not much they can really do about that and it's not a big deal or anything.

Overall I'd definitely recommend this gym if you don't need or care about a pool or sauna. There's more than enough to get a full workout in and the atmosphere is welcoming and not intimidating.

In my original review I mentioned that I've heard/read that cancelling a membership can be a nightmare but after reading some of the other reviews and people complaining about the $10 fee to cancel...I mean, it's not like that's a secret. They are up front about their cancellation policy and it's not on them if you can't be bothered to read through what you're signing up for. Yeah it sucks that you can only cancel via in person or certified mail but this is NOT unique to Youfit at all. Just read through your contract, people. I got a coupon in the mail for this place and even right on the coupon it informed you about the annual fee and cancellation fee; they aren't trying to hide anything.

Update: I've been going for a few months now and I'm bumping my review up to 5 stars. Place is great. Equipment is kept clean and in good repair. People are chill. I used to just go a couple of times a week to supplement crossfit but now I go almost daily.

September 10, 2018 00:30

Impact closed their White Rock location and gave the members less than 30 days notice. Rather than allow members to effectively cancel their members on the closing day of the gym, they with held the 30 day cancellation notice clause of the membership, forcing members to pay for another month of dues after the gym is closed.

I enjoy this place for a good workout at my own pace. The staff here does not bother me or try to sell me anyting that's what I like. They are courteous and they tried to their best with all the limitations they have here. As far as the members they are few that are solely dependent on others to clean up after them like if there was there mothers. I guess these people will never change thank God there's only a few. I say this only because the employees that caters to these people cannot say this so I'm doing it for them.

Place is good if you are an early bird. As it gets really busy as the day goes on. Especially on Mondays (pump up that chest bro).
Really inexpensive $10/month(They just want your lunch money). But not without a catch to it. There is a yearly charge for roughly around $50, just an heads-up.
Did I mention it is clean? Never had any complaints about it.
They do offer personal training and also boot camps. You can also opt in of Zumba.
Childcare facility is available for all you busy mom's out there.
Decent locker rooms. (Bring your own lock)

In conclusion, the change starts with"YOU". (Yeah I copied their slogan. No copyright infringement please).

Close too early on weekends. Although some issues have been recently addressed, ongoing maintenance and cleanliness has been an issue at this location.
Overall good facility for the price. Staff is friendly.

Clean the locker rooms, install permanent shower rods that won't be laying on the floor half the time and invest in some heavy duty curtains, not the thin, dollar store variety. It honestly looks like you grabbed a plastic tablecloth left over from the last company picnic and tied it to the rod, but it's actually members tying knots of shredded plastic to hang the curtains so they can shower.

I started working out in February of 2018! My son use to work for Youfit at the same location! I wish he still worked here. I love the staff and atmosphere! This place is "my me-time!" I have such a great sense of accomplishment during and after working out!" I often video myself on social media to encourage others! Many of my over forty Facebook and Instagram friends and family say I vitalized them to get back into working out!

Like any gym there are members who are too lazy or self absorbed to clean up after themselves, or try to use two machines at once instead of completing their set on one and moving onto the next, but honestly these people seem to be few and far between and most people are just pretty chill.

I think really my only complaint is the parking lot; there's maybe one tree that gives off the tiniest bit of shade and in the Texas weather that kind of sucks, but there's not much they can really do about that and it's not a big deal or anything.

Great staff and people. Doesn't have the most equipment, but a great place for both introverted and extroverted people depending on the time. It's definitely worth the price

One day I showed up to workout before work and it was closed for remodeling, so I decided to try out Youfit instead.

I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of equipment they have. I am not really into machines but they have tons of those, if that's your thing, and LOTS of cardio equipment. They have 2 rowers (I like rowing so I usually do that), they've got kettlebells (LA Fitness does NOT have those unless they just added them in the remodel), they've got free weights, they've got benches, even a couple of squat racks which really surprised me.

If you're wondering, like I was, if you can deadlift at this gym: I have, and no one bothered me about it. It was a little bit squirrely for me to set up for it since you'd need to put 45#s on the bar to get it the proper height off the ground, and it took some effort for me to slide them onto the bar, but once I got it, I did my set just fine.

The cons: membership. The price is great- $10/month or $20 if you want access to all the Youfits and classes and the ability to bring a guest. I pay $25/month for my health club pass through my insurance. It would be cheaper for me to cancel that and get Youfit's traditional membership, but I've read the horror stories. With my health insurance, I can call up and cancel whenever I want- no hassle, no fees, whatever. A traditional membership for this gym would be more complicated. To be fair, I'm pretty sure all commercial chain gyms function this way; it's not specific to Youfit. But you can read the horror stories on here and on Yelp and other places and it just seems super obnoxious if you decide you want to cancel.

Also I wish they had more trees in the parking lot to provide some shade for your car in this awful Texas heat but that's pretty minor. Overall, I'd say this gym for the price is definitely worth it from what I can tell, and imo is just as good as LA Fitness if you don't mind the lack of a pool/sauna.

A great place to get into shape. Nice atmosphere, friendly people, and different styles of work out machines.

April 23, 2018 17:34

Ridiculous...Went in to cancel my membership. I moved an hour away and there was no need to continue the membership. I was charged to cancel a 10 dollar fee. It's not the amount of money, but the fact that you have to pay in order to cancel the membership . Also, had to go back because the desk person was so distracted that he canceled another member's gym membership instead of mine. The last times I went to the gym some of the equipment was not working, and the gym was not as clean as it used to be when I first joined. After today I am definitely glad I cancelled.

April 16, 2018 11:53

Visit was good because I join the health club but, I have yet to use the equipment.

Great gym with spacious room and adequate equipment. Very fancy changing rooms. They've got the best trainer is the best trainer there.

April 6, 2018 15:11

Please Read the contract before signing this gym. i have always been a member of LA Fitness. I decided to check it out. just for two months they some how charged me 90$ they have cancellation fee + yearly maintenance fee. BS. I talked to their supervisor on the phone and all he talked was about the contract says this the contract says that. He was extremely rude.

April 3, 2018 21:11

Worse than car salesmen. Here's my story so far:
A week ago I went in to sign up. The staff was really friendly and gave me a full tour of the gym including the daycare area. They DID NOT mention that they do not feed/change your child. Which would have been super important.
I sign up for a membership and find out that to include daycare is an additional $10 a month PLUS an additional $39.99 a year for annual fees. They get a trainer/coach to talk to me. I agree to get the 4 sessions with a trainer. They tell me they're scheduling me to see a trainer and gave me an appointment card.
So I show up for my appointment and waited for about 30 min. I then find out that I've been rescheduled for a different time. I reschedule for a different day because I couldn't do the time they moved me to. So the day of my new appointment, I'm in the car ON THE WAY TO THE GYM, and I get a call asking if I can reschedule. I told him I'm in my car and he says he can move it 30 min later. So I agree and go to the gym to work out 30 min, and then visit with him for 30 min. I take my kid to the daycare and workout for 30. I go to my appointment, which I was told was an assessment to place me with a trainer. IT ISN'T. It's another sales tactic to get me to sign up with an ADDITIONAL package with a trainer. I've already given them $120 in addition to about $39, and they're already asking me for more money. I haven't even started my Jump start yet!
He wouldn't take no for an answer and kept talking in circles. I ended up being in his office for an hour. By the time I got my son he had been in daycare for an hour and half. but had not eaten for about 2 and half hours by then.
I feel so pressured when I come into this place. I get phone calls daily asking me if I want to sign up and I tell them I already have. Every time I talk to someone from there, they want to sell me more stuff. And they will NOT take no for an answer. I feel targeted as a sucker and I feel so uncomfortable. I haven't even been a member for a month.
If you're a mom, DON'T GO HERE.
If you sign up for Jump Start, BE FOREWARNED!

Lots of great equipment and the staff is super sweet and helpful! Awesome spot. Reminds me of the Youfits in Miami, Fl

Very clean. Excellent staff. Keep up the great work.

October 29, 2017 14:42

I used to like this place until it started to decline. Things that are simply not ok: Dried soap bits on the shower floor, used bandaid on the wall and a charge to cancel with no effort to resolve the issue and retain membership. It became a waste of money and time.

(Update:
The location will now close at 12am M-TH
I feel like if it can not attract enough traffic to stay open it may soon go out of business.
In the meantime, it may lose members.
The taco place hidden around the corner is killing it 'til 3am. What's your excuse?)

The hours of this gym are inexcusably bad. Months after joining I have to check hours before I go to make sure they are not closed. Terribly confusing and inconvenient. For someone who will often workout at night, closing at 8pm simply doesn't get it. Even if it's not every day, it might as well be.
Other issues are gym layout, locker room design (only one shower + handicap,) and two large rooms that go essentially unused not being available for stretching, lunges, etc

October 25, 2017 09:14

I really like this gym as well as the employees. I've belonged to several gyms throughout the years and this is one of my favorites. The membership pricing and convenience was what made it great for me. I'm sad to be moving to Denton and hope in the future there will be a YOUFIT near me.

October 25, 2017 09:14

was a Nice place to work out. now its too pack to even work out in the evening. can't even work out late cause now of course they closed at midnight. rather pay an extra 4 dollar to move down to 24hr fitness where they have a pool, sauna, free towels, better locker room... and is actually opened 24hours.

October 25, 2017 09:14

Best gym I've been a member of. You can tell they are genuinely concerned about you having a good and safe workout.

October 25, 2017 09:14

This is a good clean gym for a great price. For $20 a month you get unlimited use of the gym and all the classes you want to take. I enjoy the Yoga classes and Total Bodypump classes the most. Good value.
