The fact that the Texas Governor reopened their gyms on Monday May 18, 2020 and we have had zero communication is a serious issue. I'm taking my business elsewhere. No emails, no phone calls, no communication of any kind at all. Completely unprofessional. Your Twitter is getting blasted as well over this issue.
Gym equipment are good but the basketball court, water fountains and other essential stuff are always out of order or not up to standard!!
This LA Fitness is perhaps the best LA fitness I've been to. Henry at this gym is an absolute treat to work with. Not only did he help me with my membership issues I had because of another location, he went above and beyond to make sure I am well taken care off for the inconvenience I had to face.
Top notch customer service from him.. He took care of my concerns almost immediately and then followed up the next day with a call to let me know exactly what he did and by when I can expect the process to complete. So professional! THE go-to person if you have any concerns or if you're just having a bad day even.. Fantastic guy! I generally recommend this location because it is neat and all but I'd go a step further and say that I'd recommend it for Henry because he will do anything and everything to make sure you're take care off.
There is a serious problem with this LA Fitness. I believe it trickles down from the gym manager and management. If you ever got to talk to him you would def know what I pointing out. Employees are there just to sign you up for something and make you spend more money. There is another LA fitness in Frisco on Main St. You could see a vast difference in the service, sales and overall experience there. Even Planet Fitness gives out better service.
This is a decent LA Fitness location. It has their standard layout plan like many other locations have. I got here at 12-noon and there wasn't very many people, just your typical zombies who can't put down their phones for 2 minutes. There was only one person on staff who was answering phones, checking in people, and explaining memberships to prospective members. As I exercised with weights and machines, I noticed the equipment was dirty and dried sweat was on them. The floor was dirty, the water fountain area was dirty, and the shower was dirty. Cleanliness is a really big deal to me in a place where everyone uses their hands. So this is why I'm dropping two stars.
Once a great destination for workout, this place is deteriorating fast. Most showers don't work or have no curtains or get no hot water in men's lockers. Broken equipment does not get fixed quickly, and new equipment coming in is unheard of. Main street location is much nicer, except they don't have hot tub. I hope this place gets a much deserved turn around quickly.
Great place for a workout. When equipment breaks down it gets fixed pretty fast. Staff is friendly and helpful. Also, they try their best to keep the facility clean. The carpet tiles in the men's locker room was replaced about 6 months ago as it was worn out and smelled like smelly socks. Unfortunately, it smells bad again. The owners or management should have considered putting in ceramic tile like the Mockingbird and Custer Roads facility.
I'm not a member here, but my daughter swims here. The equipment looks nice. All that said, I feel that I can really only comment on the pool. It is because of this that I give 3 stars. The pool area is almost always very hot and muggy. Several times I've seen paint peel off the walls. When the AC isn't running in the building it is murder sitting in there.
While on a visit to Plano, visited this location with a guest. Was greeted by Juan at the desk. Requested for the guest to be granted entry. Never had an issue with getting a guest in prior to this visit at any other location. Juan was unpleasant to deal with. Ended membership with LA fitness after being a long time member. Would have given 0 stars. There are other places with better service!
Pretty good value for the price. Large spread out gym with basic combo of cardio, machines and free weights. Rarely seems crowded.
They also have a lap pool, hot tub and steam room.
Maintenance is average. They eventually get repairs done.

The gym is in a great location and looks very nice from the outside. One inside though, it is not very clean or well kept. What I mean by well kept is that some machines, benches, and the floor have stains or rips on them and the gym in general just looks older than it probably is or should look like. The restrooms are pretty filthy as well, though I haven't used the showers, so I can't comment on that. 4 stars because it does have a lot of equipment and it is all working. I haven't had an issue so far where a piece of equipment is out of service. I just wish the gym was renovated a bit, especially considering the monthly price.

I work out regularly and have been doing so for many years. This is a good gym; it is clean,has good equipmemy with a friendly staff. That includes a good selection of weights and weight training equipment, workout equipment like treadmills, bikes, etc, a lap pool and sauna.

The facility has so many great perks. The gym is super clean, and there is an abundance of equipment. The general manager Henry helped me set up a guest pass and it took him less than a minute. The staff there are also very friendly. They knew my name after a few days. A very welcoming place. 10/10 recommend!!!

Have had membership for about a year and a half. The gym isn't packed which is nice. The employees are all very friendly and it's pretty well kept in terms of cleanliness. For the price definitely the best pick.
The gym is nice, but the manager is not polite, He was very Rude, his name is Henry Palacio, I am going to another gym because I don't like people unprofessional and arrogant. He don't know how treat a costumer.
Decent facility, the gentleman that was helping my mom and I with our membership completely blew us off when he realized we were getting a membership through our health insurance, assuming he was not going to get commission on our sign up. Fairly disappointed with our first experience, but ever since it has been great!

When you want to register in LA-Fitness, completely do attention to all terms of their contract!
If you want to cancel your membership even after the first meeting, and only after a week of using this club, you will experience the worst customer service among American clubs!
They make money with their unfair policies! They will charge you for 2 months at first and you just have 3 days for canceling with refund!! means you have no time to change your mind. This time for cancellation means no refund after registration.
I tried 2 different locations (Frisco on Highway 121 and McKenny in Custer) and both have similar problems. The children's care club is awful, it is an empty room without proper toys and someone who cares them continuously. The lowest standard and quality in their small swimming pool and bathroom.
I want to put no star on this location but google does not allow me to do so. It is the worst service I could ever have in USA. The personal trainer is just mess. They are very nice when you set up the service, but after that no trainer could assign to you and will not refund the initial fee for me. I keep changing person trainer for 2 months and then I have to switch location because there is no trainer at this location at all. Because no trainer assigned to me so they said they would extend my period to finish the class at the end and they have put note in their system. One year later they said they did not see the note at all. I should make payment to continue use all the section I could not finish now. It is just horrible and a robber!!!!

It's also a good mix of serious enthusiasts and casual people looking to get exercise. It's not too intimidating if you're new.
The worst customer service from all the LA locations. My first day I got the guest pass and talked to the salesman, Henry Palacio, to check out the membership options and it cost me one hour of useless information and wasted time. After the workout session, I was asked if I wanted to get a membership, after my refusing, Henry and another staff member began calling me a "free loader" for using the guest pass that was Emailed directly to me by himself. They kept bullying me saying how I was using them for free service, when all I did was used the guest pass that was provided to me by themselves! Seems like they better work on their customer service skills since they can't remember what they are doing.
I had a long drawn out review and it didn't post. Crappy old equipment that has been broken since it was bought from Gold's gym. Trash that never gets picked up. Out of shape trainers. Basically every bad thing you could think of in a gym all rolled into one. Try the new one in Main or West Plano on Midway. They are much better. This one will be out of business soon enough. The equipment is breaking faster than they are fixing it.

Been going here for almost 10 years - so I hope who ever reads this takes this into account. I am not simply writing this to spite this location but rather express my thoughts after being a member for a decade.
It was great, at first, now it's very run down and the management sucks. The bathrooms are nasty, showers are falling apart and they use cheap quick fixes to keep things running.
I usually go there at the same time every day, and one time I did not have my card to swipe in because my car was at the shop. I give the guy my phone number which always works at other La ditnesses as they can pull up your account but he tells me he needs to see my ID. This is a person who sees me come in almost daily... I was not pleased as he told me the "this is LA fitness policy..." and shows me a print out. OK, cool sorry bro, been working out here for longer than you have worked and you see me come in all the time.
Anyways, back to the gym; machines are constantly "out of order", some dumbells are falling apart, cardio equipment is super dated - specially the treadmills. It's very hard to find one you can actually run on as most of them stick and may cause one to badly hurt their knees.
The pool is very disgusting, I used to swim every morning and now I don't. Last time I went swimming, I got sick for a week! There is always algae in it.
I have been reading other reviews and I would have to agree with most of the comments about the staff. Most of them do not care, and are more involved with talking to each other and watching YouTube on their phones than to actually help their members. In addition, some employees seem to feel like they have some kind of global authority because they work there. I have referred a few friends to LA fitness because overall LA is not a bad deal but they go into this location and come out severely disappointed.
In summary, I wish corporate would send some much needed help down - this is a gym located in a prime intersection. All the new business coming into town and apartments and homes building in the area would most likely have other gyms renovating and making sure the staff is on point to grow their business but not this one! Amazed how something like this could still be going. Glad I am moving soon so I can visit much nicer LA fitness locations.
