Sean was great as far as customer service hands down. The GM there has no need to be running this place. I was having a life experience where I needed to push my payment out just one week but i stead of working with me. He advised me that i would have to cancel my membership and start over when i decided to come in again. So I advised the GM to cancel my membership as I was standing at his desk. He had a short attention span instead of telling me he went ahead and canceled my membership already I was standing at his desk while he was messing around on his and chatting with a guy of to the side of me. I could hear the conversation he was having and it was not even about club business. I do not recommend this place for a good experience unless your going to see sean and he generally works of the evening. JV is definitely not the answer here. If your going to see this GM I highly recommend you turn around and walk out the door and go to any planet fitness. The staff will definitely take care of you for sure.
Love the basketball court, sauna and women's workout area. I use my phone app to check in and enjoy a workout. Great customer service. Gym has everything you need to reach your fit life goals.
I'm a member of LA Fitness from out of state on a business trip to this area. The location of this gym is in a very sketchy area that management has zero control of at this point. I did not take this into account for my rating.
Positives: smelled clean upon entry, plenty of room and equipment, pool looked clean
Negatives: Staff needs to be professional when speaking to anyone and not use slang and speak very clearly. I heard a staff member speaking to someone on the phone about a membership and his tone was very rude (he was not the only staff member I heard in this manner)
Mens locker room restroom was a complete warzone! I can't believe it looks like this! It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks.
Equipment looked fairly new, however, metal surfaces and bars showed severe signs of surface corrosion, which is a dead giveaway that equipment is not being serviced and cleaned properly.
The manager walked around and did not look approachable, but I did ask why restrooms were in that shape, but he failed to answer the question through a lengthy response.
And for the last thing (something management can and can't control) People that show up in non-gym attire and work out just to be in the way. There were at least 5 guys in there in jean shorts and nice shoes moving around the entire gym doing nonsense while staring other gym goers down with evil smirks. Trust me, it was their first time working out. But people show up as if they just left a night club (not the older people who wear jeans)!
I ended up just using my hotel gym...complete bummer since I need the heavy equipment. Sucks to see an LA Fitness in this condition. Iui
Membership counselor choosing to use scare tactics when simply coming in to use a guest pass to see if the gym was worthy of getting a membership at. However I give 3 stars because the equipment is still nice and new looking, the atmosphere is relaxing, and there's minimal people there. No waiting for equipment. A plus is that they have a women's only workout area. I did notice that they did not have central ac. They were using portable units to keep the gym cool which is working just fine.

Now, that I talked my wife into trying it out they denied her guests pass because and i quote " she can not get the pass because people get the pass and not sign up for it" what in the world is that kind of answer. So because they get to many people that get the pass, they're going to start denying guest passes. Very unpleasant experience with LA Fitness. I highly was talk about the equipment and facility. Gym is big with basketball and racquet ball but equipment is used and old. Not bad to get a quick workout but seems dirty.

They have no kettle bells and no stretching equipment or rollers for warm up. They close at 5pm on weekends which is ridiculous. Also, they are pricier than Planet Fitness close by which have new equipment and open 24 hours.

I'm not sure who cares less, the members or the staff. No one makes an effort to re-rack weights or clean up after themselves. The location is fairly large with a great variety of equipment, but a good portion of the equipment looks pretty beat up, outdated, or rusty.
With all indications of a busy location, I'm surprised it hasn't been updated. I'll most likely switch back to lifetime.

It's not like I'd be asking anyone to kiss my butt, but I would at least like for someone to say hello when they are standing right in front of me while I'm checking in. It is rude on their part and that is what they are paid to do. I would not blame it on the lower employee as management is responsible for keeping these things in check and has been guilty of doing the same thing. This place is filled with "Billy Bad Asses" and people who come to work out with blue tooth speakers or use the speaker on their cell phone rather than bring headphones, which I sometimes forget; anyway, the music sucks unless you like pop music. I think all in all LA Fitness has some good gyms, but this particular location just has some issues. I went here for a little over a year and just did not feel welcome, these people do not seem too concerned about retention, weights all over the place, and enough posers here for me to decide to go somewhere else. Metroflex is a better alternative. Pardon me if I come across as negative or biased. I just did not have a good experience at this his particular location, several.

Huge space! A separate area just for women is a major plus! The suitmate was broken and when I asked about it the cleaning lady said, "and they won't be fixing it anytime soon!" Of course she stood chatting with a member in the locker room for over 20 minutes. A little more cleaning and maintenance wouldn't hurt.....
Try and find a treadmill that gives an accurate heart rate. When reporting the problem it was suggested that I buy something to read my heart rate!i. This happened some time ago.

Granted, she tried looking me up by name but no avail. She told me to call my insurance company to see what was wrong. I called the insurance who called the LA Fitness on 3 way. Valerie had no idea that I was on the line. She proceeded to tell my insurance agent that I had no idea what I was talking about and that she couldn't talk to her, she'd have to talk to me. The rep told her I was on the phone and she hung up (big shock). In my opinion, customer service goes an extremely long way, and if she's over sales, I can only imagine the amount of revenue she brings in for that location.

Pretty much all of the floors are carpeted, which means a stinky or mildew mess in the locker rooms, too, except for the shower and bathroom and pool areas, and courts. Water fountains are adequately placed and provide decent temperature water. I didn't test the cleanliness of the water or anything.
The hours are less than the downtown hours by 1 daily, and also quite a bit less than other gyms like 24Hr and Planet Fitness.
The sauna is the saving grace as it is usually in working order and keeps the heat going for a good relaxation and detox.
I've heard the downtown location is tidier.

This place needs new management asap. If you plan on using a locker bring ur own lock. Stealing is known at this place. Also they don't even have towels for the shower. Very disappointed by this location.
It's a gym all the P.E. kids grow up and go to...not because it lacks equipment. A lot of people do not rack weights they just throw them wherever. If you are strong enough to lift it, your strong enough to put it back!!!
How is it safe to dumbbells all over the place? I feel sorry for the staff what a position the manager must be in, have your staff, half seem to be women... pick up weights behind man children that can't match numbers, 125lbs don't go in the spot that says 60...
If the leg press doesn't have a spot for 25, 10, 5, and .5 its not a bad design you are doing it wrong its leg press!!! If you are too weak to go up by 45lbs at a time take your 25lbs off the leg press when your done...
If they set high standards how many people will stop going to a gym because they make you rack weights? How many people will they gain?
Hours are pathetic. Will not renew or recommend any la fitness because it closes 10 and opens 8 on weekends. Getting a 24 hr club next
This location always seems dirty. Both in the common areas as well as the locker rooms. Some broken lockers and it seems at least 1 shower stall is always down for one reason or another.
A regular morning group that is friendly and the front desk staff is nice. The weights are always a mess and never seem re-racked.
This place is very ghetto. Also, I would not feel safe going there early in the morning or in the evening. There are some very schecky apartments right next to it. It smells bad and the personnel is very rude. I went today to ask about membership price and this "kid" who seemed like out of a cheap rap videoclip, with fake gold chains and a fake gold watch, tried to convince to pay more than $100 to join! Run away from this LA Fitness....so many better options out there.
