Great place to workout, play any kind of sport, and also to relax. They only allow UTRGV students, from what I know.

I love the 2nd floor, how they have mats and enough space for you to run. On the first floor they have a lot of other great things you can use or see like the machine to work out and different courts. I do recommend and encourage that you go, they have about everything!!

Best place on campus to get swole (so I've heard) and if you go early in the day then you'll easily get access to the squat rack. Someone needs to address the Pikachu problem in the rower tho, keeps messing up my reps.

Best place to work out. Great facility but it is crowded because there's a lot of students.

Great gym with everything. Indoor soccer field. Indoor basketball courts. You can play racquetball inside. There free weights and also weight machines. On the second floor there is an indoor running track. There are also treadmills and stationary bicycles. Currently enrolled students can come anytime. Also open to the public but you have to pay. Check out the swimming pool.

If you live nearby or you're a student attending UTRGV this is the perfect place to be active. It has pretty good workout section. You are able to hit every muscle you will want while not having to deal with a big crowd. They have a machine section, 4 squat sections, 3 dead lifts stations, and multiple bench stations including decline and incline. This place has access to racquetball, indoor soccer, multiple basketball courts inside and outside. You're able to do pretty much anything here. Also they have an amazing pool with a jacuzzi.

Nearly empty during the summer. No waiting to use free weights.

Been going here ever since I've been enrolled at utrgv back in 2013. Great place to work out and great environment. They always keep their equipment up to date and never had any problems.

Incompetent staff, non working computer. No one knows actual answer, rather than find out its just oh well and a shrug of the shoulders. Endemic cultural attitude here

When for an orientation and was amazed by the buildings and how beautiful they looked. The guy who made my I'd card was nice.

Great place to work out. Big enough to have all the equipment you need, small enough to not lost.

One of the worst-ran UT -system rec centers I have ever seen (n=5). The gym is often closed during POSTED BUSINESS HOURS (see 11/25/16 -yesterday, for the most recent example), closes early without notice, and is staffed with a bunch of work-study goofballs who do NOTHING except fold towels. Students often ignore the posted rules regarding use of equipment, make huge messes on the floor and fail to clean them up, and in general are horrible gym rats who do what they please in light of the weak staff response. I have seen kids doing pull ups on Smith machines, people practicing karate on the stairs, and a general sense of apathy that permeates the entire facility. The only think that keeps me here is the pool access for my children, as it is very cost-effective at the UREC compared to public pools, and my supreme ability to get buff DESPITE having a gym full of pretentious nitwits trying to visualize the mosquito-bump they think is their bicep by standing 12 inches from a mirror. PRICELESS!!
