I recently started going to the 'Surge' class on Thursdays at 5:30 with Fernando and would high recommend it. Its an hour long and you will work every minute of it. A solid mix of cardio and strength training, I burned 750 calories in my first class alone. If you're looking for a hard and well rounded workout, this is the spot.

I acquired a membership at this gym to go to the boot-camp. The gym has really old equipment for the price. I was not impressed with the boot-camp. I ended up moving and at their request went through hoops to cancel. Sent a certified letter to cancel. The gym continued to charge my credit card stating it takes 30 days for their system to cancel, then after that they told me it's the contract that would take 30 days to complete? I spoke with Jason who was less than pleasant and did not know what he was talking about. He interrupted me several times and was very rude. I do not recommend going to to this gym. They then charged me an additional fee for canceling. So it's basically 200.00 for canceling. With all the money they rip people off, they should invest in new equipment.

This is a really great place to get a work out in, especially if you're serious and someone who moves through their workouts with purpose. The management and staff are great, and they only allow talented trainers on their floor. Sometimes its pretty busy, but the abundance of equipment helps a lot.

Not sure about reviews saying that the equipment stays broken because I've never seen a piece of equipment remain unfixed for more than a day or so before a technician can get to it. This is easily one of the best places to get a workout in in Central Dallas.

I guess they tried to cash in on the fading popularity of Crossfit so the main thoroughfare inside the gym (which you would normally use to walk to and from equipment) is a giant streak of astroturf replete with dead-eyed mongs mindlessly dragging weighted sleds back and forth. Have fun dodging them as you try to to traverse the gym. I hired a trainer at their old location who was a total j-j-jerkoff. He was recently married and appeared more interested in talking to women there than working with a paying client. He confided in me that he works out at a different gym because people at Diesel approach him with questions pertaining to fitness... as if he were, like, a personal trainer or something. TLDR; Just go to a corporate gym.

They have quite a bit of equipment. Pretty much everything you would need. Plenty of cardio machines. free weights, 3-4 squat racks, free classes and the studio is free to use when classes aren't going on, and they have 2 turf strips in the middle that you can use their weighted sleds on or do plyometrics or other HIIT exercises. Only thing I think they don't have is a seated overhead press.

They have a few parking spots in the garage, but street parking will be your main option.

The application fee is kind of expensive, but if you plan on being there for a while, it's $30 a month, which is a pretty good deal. It doesn't get anywhere near as crowded as Gold's or LA Fitness. I typically go around 6 PM and don't have to wait too long for equipment.

If you're into lifting weights, working out hard with minimal talking, this is for you. As someone who enjoys the laidback atmosphere at my local Y, it was more intense than I prefer. One note, if you follow the directions on Google, you end up in a small section of the garage and it seems like there isn't much parking. If you go up into the garage instead, there's a ton of parking, and you're closer to the gym entrance.

Great gym with a great culture and helpful staff. Much better than any big box gym I've been a part of.

Diesel Fitness is one of the best small gyms in Dallas! The Atlas Foam Roller is there.
