I was so excited to join this gym and am so disappointed with the experience. The membership, tax included is $191 monthly, my expectation was this gym would be well maintained. Cost doesn't equal quality in this case. Broken machines are the norm, not the exception. The manager is unresponsive, I have been waiting for a return call for 3 days now - I am not expecting it
Equinox inaccurately charged by account $120, I brought it to their attention 5 seconds after the transaction hit my bank account. They could not void the transaction and it is not 3 days, I still don't have my refund. I just filed a dispute with my bank, as well as spoke with their corporate office - the credit, although the transaction was their mistake was just approved today. Perhaps if the Highland Park management cared about my experience, they would have followed up with the corporate office to remedy the matter and because it was their mistake, do whatever it took to make the refund happen timely. Very disappointing and yes I decided I will be quitting. Shame on the management staff, the equinox logo, "It's not for everyone". It is definitely not for me, I expect for $200 a month a gym would cause me less stress, this one just adds to it. My customer experience was horrible with this gym. Join if you like to be frustrated.

At certain times it might be a little over crowded but my overall experience with this club is very positive. The club is extremely clean and maintained that way thru out the day. I do use a personal trainer and I can only say great things about him and how he has helped me. All employees are courteous and helpful. Over the years I have been a member of several health clubs and this one ranks at the top.

Friendly staff and impressive atmosphere! Really enjoy working out at Equinox. Personal Trainers and Massage Therapists are very knowledgeable and care about their clients. Highly recommend!

After 7 years I have cancelled my membership. No parking, classes are so full you can't move and the rude pilates / yoga instructor was the icing on the cake when I inquired about the possibility of having more than one Pilates class. New and old clients should never be treated with disrespect. Will A.,the group fitness instructor is great and will be missed!

Terrific gym for those wanting a complete change in lifestyle.

Very disappointed with my visit to the facility and this company's severe lack of response thereafter. Initially I walked into this gym to merely inquire about membership pricing. Not only was pressure placed on me to get membership then and there despite repeated statements that my visit was an inquiry only, but the membership representative became rude with me when they saw I was politely not budging. When I privately emailed and phoned Equinox, I was informed I'd receive a response in regards to this matter providing both my phone number and email address but no one from the company responded to this rather unpleasant experience. Hence this public Google Review. There are indeed other gyms with not only more affordable pricing, but much better customer service than what I recieved from this company.

I love it. Has everything I need. Busy on the classic gym rush hours, but completely doable.

Terrible place. If you have a complaint or need a question answered they will dodge you for days. Tried out the personal training, it was awful and canceled within the allotted time. No refund. Large amount of money taken. Very unfriendly. Advise everyone you know to find another gym.

Long-term Equinox member in LA/NY and now Dallas. Sadly in 6 mos the gym went from more boutique/luxury feeling to a dressier LA Fitness. There are Sales People everywhere- last night they were all hanging out in the front which is very unusual for a high-end gym. The place is super crowded and machines need a lot of servicing and they don't seem to pay that much attention. The front desk is now filled with people - the overall vibe is unlike my experiences with Equinox in the past - just feels low-class. Also - the front area lounge has become a place for people to drop off their kids doing homework which is highly inappropriate - I don't want that in my $$ gym - is this now free daycare? I don't even think that's legal. Now the $100 giftcard and no initiation and tons of sales people have just changed everything about this location. Too bad.

JUST HORRIBLE.

I was a member almost since the club opened 6+ years ago. I recently cancelled it. The experience at this club has deteriorated dramatically.

Parking is a serious problem. The valets for the restaurant next door have turned the parking area into a hazard zone. The neighborhood around the club is crammed with traffic at certain key times of the day.

The classes are a pain to get into and nearly always booked solid in my experience, making them pretty much worthless.

The swimming pool is TINY and one can spend a long time waiting for a lane.

The club closes for DAYS AT A TIME for special events, INCLUDING one today through tomorrow for some promotional cycling event. Seriously, they're locking their PAYING members out for DAYS to promote themselves at an event that takes over the club?

I can go on and on. The locker rooms/wet areas used to be impeccably clean. Now there are HOLES in the lockers and I got a nasty virus on the foot from walking in the wet area.

They move the machines around without warning and for no apparent reason, forcing me to hunt down the machine I want way more often than I'd like.

The front desk staff waste members' time by not being at the front desk, or chit-chatting with each other when members need to scan their card to get in. Ask them any question and they will respond with "I don't know" or "I'll let the manager know when he/she returns" (no they won't).

In order to cancel my membership I had to try to meet a manager FOUR TIMES, twice over the phone, and exchange at least 6 emails before they finally processed my cancellation. I felt like they gave me the runaround and tried to sell me on staying, and delaying. And I'm a longtime member; I can only imagine how they treat new members who are still on a contract.

This place used to be worth the price. Now I wouldn't go here even if it was free. There are other excellent gyms available in the area, and I'm extremely happy with my new membership at Telos once I finally left Equinox after nearly 6 years. Anyone considering Equinox should take a look at other gyms in the area first before committing, in my opinion.

EFF THIS GYM.

The parking situation here is ATROCIOUS. If you go in the evening between 5 and 7pm, forget even getting INTO the parking lot. They share an area with the seafood place next door and between the gym traffic and the valet, you literally can't even pull into the parking facility.

Unfortunately, I have to between 8 and 10pm to even get a spot. So, I can't go when I want to go.

I originally signed-up here to attend the group yoga classes. Again, IF you can get a spot (be ready to show up 30 minutes early to get one!). Even then, be ready to have someone's foot/arm in your face.

The classes themselves are horrible due to the tremendous heat in the classroom. You'll swear EVERY yoga class is a hot yoga class. I cannot get through a class because my mat is so slicked with sweat that I can't properly hold the poses (sorry for the gross image).

I mentioned it to a girl at the front desk. I said, "It is WAY too hot in that yoga room. I think the air system isn't working correctly." Her response was, "Got it." As in, "I don't care, I'm waiting for you to get out of my face."

So I tried the machines. They're fine. But I'm squeezed into such a narrow window of time that I'm rarely in the mood to work out AT THAT PARTICULAR TIME. And it's not what I really want to do - I'd prefer to have the classes.

And you have to be ready to play musical chairs if you want any machine. Sometimes you have to wait.

I can't speak to the showers and all that. You can't even get one because of all the overcrowding.

In fact, you'll spend most of your time here dealing with waiting for someone else to:

- Get out of a parking spot
- Get off a machine
- Get out of a shower
- Get out of your way in general

There needs to be some sort of capacity control here, because it's to the point where it's unpleasant and unsafe to deal with.

Oh and the people that work out there are all a-holes. But you knew that already.

I only regret I'm locked into this terrible gym for another 9 months. Will NOT renew. Stay far away - there must be better gyms in Dallas than this.

Beautiful Equinox location. Good trainers and friendly staff. Amenities are what you'd expect and more from an Equinox.

Equinox is the place to be! Top location, workout equipment, trainers, amenities, and most important, members. This is the type of gym where you want to come because it's architecturally beautiful, where you want to push beyond your limits because they have the best equipment, where you get a free session with a trainer upon signing you up who uproots your preconceived ideas about what a workout can be, where you can relish in the luxurious locker room to cool off, and where all around you each and every member is working just as hard as you. No excuses, because Equinox made me do it.

Exactly what a gym should be. The clientele mind their own business they are professionals who stay healthy... courteous and well mannered. I cannot express enough how well-kept their gyms are, always clean and it always smells nice, everything is always working. This is how all gyms should be. I used to teach classes and train at the Preston Hollow and Highland Park locations so I know what goes on inside and out. Being in the fitness industry i have seen a lot of gyms and taken a lot of classes and education and have experienced quite a bit and can easily admit They know what they are doing, educating their staff with the most up-to-date technical information and their attention to detail... this place is. Perfect. I left for personal reasons but always love going to this gym.
