Gym was destroyed by a tornado.
I felt bad for them until they sent me to collections for not paying dues to a gym that no longer exists.
When I tried to cancel, their internet page doesn't have contact info. It all says to contact the gym of which one is a member - which temporarily didn't exist.
DO NOT JOIN. THEY ARE UNETHICAL.
Been travelling for the last month and going to Planet Fitness' from San Diego all the way to Texas. The facility is clean and large, but the staff seemed rather cold. Went to use my Black card for the foot massage, but they refused to give me more than one coin and asked for me to just come back every 5 minutes for an extra coin. The previous spot allowed me to use 3 at a time. So i asked if i could use the hydro massage first and they asked for the coin back. Just seemed so odd to me compared to the other Planet Fitness spots i've been to where they're more than willing to allow me to use my perks without seeming frugal.
The staff really goes out of their way to make you feel like family.
I have been a member of PF for over 2 years now and I have had the pleasure of traveling around the country and enjoying the Black Card Benefits. I have never had any major issues with PF until today when I visited the Marsh Lane location. I brought a good friend of mine and fellow military veteran as my guest who is a current member of Lifetime Fitness for his first visit to Planet Fitness ever. I wanted to show him the best that PF had to offer so I got 2 coins and took him to the massage chairs before we worked out. The Regional Manager, Colby interrupted our massage and made us get up because my friend was not a current member. He said non members were not allowed in the Black Card area. I understand that there are rules and regulations to any business as I have also been a Regional Manager and I currently Advise a Fortune 500 company on Revenue Growth and Customer Retention. However, I cannot remember the last time I have witnessed such a poor display of customer experience, especially for a prospective customer of a direct competitor. I also have a membership at 24 Hour Fitness and today after the poor decisions on Colby's part I wanted to cancel my membership with PF and just reinvest it in a tanning or massage package since that's all I get in addition to my 24 hour fitness benefits. However, I reconsidered after the kind and courteous service I received from Isabel and Damian who know how to truly honor the customer experience and do what is right by their faithful paying members. I do not wish to be appeased or offered any type of incentives. I am only excercising my freedom of speech in hopes that the leadership learns from this experience and this type of behavior is not carried over to any future paying or prospective members. As for my friend, I am sure I'll never convince him to walk into another PF again and he will continue to pay $90 per month to receive exceptional customer service at Lifetime Fitness. Thank you Isabel and Damian your courtesy is very much appreciated.
Perfect place to workout... No judgement zone.
This is one of the better gyms in the area. I have seen great improvement since joining. The people make this gym great.
I like Planets mentality for ease of access but they need to broaden their horizons on availability of things.
I won't go to planet fitness again. Their customer service sucks bad. I had to cancel my membership because my insurance gives me a membership to planet fitness and la fitness so there isn't a reason to pay for it twice. Brian repeatedly stopped in the middle of helping me (without saying a word) to go help other people. It wouldn't have been a problem if he said "hey give me a second" or "hold on real quick" , but just dropped everything to help someone else. I've been in customer service all my life and I know customers need to be helped.Then they said I signed a contract even tho it says everywhere that there is no commitment and quit whenever you want and charged me 58 bucks. Don't go to the Planet fitness by royal lane and marsh, this isn't the first time their customer service was terrible either. The place always runs out of paper towels and the restroom has piss all over the floor constantly.

I like this gym, but I wish members would be considerate and do their workouts, and move to the next exercise machine in a timely manner, but some members try to own the machines. If they aren't working out, they are sitting on the exercise machines taking selfies. Please be considerate.

Very hesitant to join Planet Fitness for years. Finally joined a month ago. The gym is very clean and spacious. Restrooms are always clean. Very good gym. I'm knocking off 1 star because they tend to keep the gym a little on the hot side compared to other gyms.

They open 24/7. I went there at 2am. It was good and peace.
The place is ok. Missing many work out machines, and the maintenance on them is not so great. Someone broke in to my car at their parking lot. I asked one of the guys there and see what they could do about it. And their simple response was "sorry it happens all the time" decided to cancel my membership.

Clean, friendly, never overly crowded, great aerobic machines, convenient and inexpensive. Great deal.

A beginner gym has some free weights but no squat rack :/ guess people who dont work out legs wont mind but if you do you will have to find more creative ways to get a good leg work out (smith machine is not a squat rack!!!)

There sign-up process is a pain and takes at least 30-minutes.
I do wish they had a sauna or hot tub. Yes I know black card members can tan and use the water massage beds, but still not the same.
Very friendly trainer Oscar! Makes working out my enjoyable.

BEWARE OF THIS GYM! This review is directly to the owner. Last night, January 10, around 10PM, I went to this Planet Fitness location and the front desk associate checked me in and allowed me to go work out, perfect! The following day I went once again, around 9:30PM, there was a new front desk associate and he stopped me after checking me in because the computer said, "Member has message." Now I understand that maybe this job is not his passion, I've been there too, but he told me in a very rude way that I was not going to be allowed into the gym because my payment from December had not been taken. I told him several things.
1. The money was taken ($21.70 exactly), that money was not in my bank account, it was with them. Mind you, he kept telling me that the money had been returned to my account because there was "insufficient funds," but that money never went back to my account.
2. I told him that the kind front desk attendant from last night had checked me in, and allowed me to go work out. He had the audacity to throw her under the bus and say that, "she did a mistake!" I asked him, "So if she did a mistake, why am I getting penalized? This is not my issue! If everything was OK with her, why is it not with you? Who is wrong here! " Still he did not let me in.
3. I asked if I could download a guest pass from the website, after all, I did make the effort to drive to Planet Fitness during this cold front. He said, "I can't allow you to do that!"
4. When my patience was running low I asked, "Well can I just cancel my account?" He then said I had to pay the December fee (money that is not in my bank account right now!) if I wanted to cancel.
He called his manager, she told him that I needed to bring a paper statement from the bank that shows all the withdrawals from December so they could "confirm" that the systems had withdrawn the money. I told him, "So your going to make me go back home, look or print a statement and bring it back so y'all can confirm what I'm telling you is true? He said "Yes"
At that point I walked out. At the moment, I'm printing my statement just to go back and show him, maybe today or tomorrow. For all of this work I should probably be compensated with a free month at least! After all I was accused of lying because here I am printing a statement.
I read the responses from the owner on several reviews. I did interact with the front desk staff for help, but it only made it worse. If you really care about customers and stick to the ideals that Planet Fitness stands for, then you should let clients like me just go in with the promise of bringing back the paperwork on their next visit. After all who wants their fees to go to a collection's agency?
I've worked in customer service, and I know the in's and out's, the owner writes in a review that they pride themselves in their professional customer service, that's a lie!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS GYM IF YOU HAVE TO, LA Fitness is starting to look pretty good right now! Club management, and even corporate will be hearing about this, regardless if this is a franchise location!

I have been a member for over a year and I love coming to this one even though I started at another facility. It is 15-20 minutes from home and that's no issue because I know when I get there, I am going to use some great equipment. It can get a little crowded, but I still get my workout in, although I prefer when it's not too many people in there, then I don't have to wait on machines/equipment. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I love to see the crew emptying the trash and cleaning. I love coming to this PF.
This planet fitness actually cares about the place. They don't watch you like hawks but somehow everything stays in order and rules are followed. I like it. They do make sure the 30 min section is actually followed by the rules but besides that it's pretty laid back.
I joined this location a month ago after only a week of working out I trolley in to start my workout after scanning my membership card and the guy at the desk runs after me taps my shoulder to say we have a problem I'm like whatnot just joined 5 seconds ago what problem oh we tried to take a payment on the 17th no money then the 19th no money mind you it's the 22nd this day of embarrassment and I was in there the 17th no one said anything I was there the 19th not a word so I said why no reminder then he said no payment I cannot allow you access I was Sooooooo embarrassed and did not return because of that
Checked this place out, looks nice. Problem is that I saw one price online then was shown an extra 100$ of fees per year when I got there. I am going to see if I can rework my finances to be able to afford $300+ per year to go here.
The place is clean but all the PF I go to are clean. I go to a total of 4 different locations Rockwall,Irving, S. Garland, and Marsh Ln. Out of all 4 I think this is the worst location. It's small and not enough weight machines. I literally counted one day and it's only 9 pieces. The other locations have like 20+ pieces that target all areas of the body. This is the only location I keep having to sign in every time I walk-in. Yest the front desk personnel ask me why I go to that location when my home gym is Rockwall. I wanted to say because I pay for the Black card and can go to any location as I pleases, but I work in the location I'm a nice person :). I think yesterday will be my last time attending this location and wait til I head home
