The staff's infatuation with their cell phones is unreal. When I first tried to sign up, I was instructed to sit down in a front waiting area. I could clearly see the trainer/staff I was supposed to meet messing around on a cell phone while I was waiting to see him. After 5-10 minutes, I just got up and left. Of course within minutes I was being bombarded with phone calls to come back and sign up. That should have been a clue of things to come.
I try to come later because of the crowds but even then, there is a shortage of equipment. All of the dumbells from 10 - 40 lbs are typically spread all over the gym while 1-2 front desk people are on their cell phones rather than going around finding / re-racking weights for use. This is the case almost every evening here.
An area of the gym is divided off for personal training. There is a closet there with dumbbells. After waiting for over 10 minutes for a pair of dumbbells to somehow find it's way back to the rack and locating only one dumbbell at a time somewhere on the floor or in a corner of the gym, I went to grab a pair from the closet where there were plenty. I was informed by a trainer that this area was for personal training. I asked her what I was supposed to do after waiting so long. She then said that people using this area pay more money than I do. That was the last straw. I actually wonder whether they want people to leave the gym because they are clearly over capacity during early evening hours.
I would gladly pay more for a gym with enough dumbbells and staff who actually look up from their cell phones to replace weights. Unfortunately, not a lot of other options in the area.
The gym is typically clean and the cleaning staff are kind and actually smile unlike the trainers
