Good quality gym and equipment. Efforts have definitely been made by the staff to keep the locker room and areas cleaner and smelling better. It's a gym, it's going to stink at times but they do a good job. The staff has always been courteous and helpful when needed. Much of the gym has dated equipment but it still works the muscles as it's supposed to. The free weight area is bigger than most gyms with plenty of benches and weights. Location can be tough to get in and out of during rush hour but it's not impossible. The crowd is very mixed in fitness level and ages. A good range with no shaming that I've seen. Work out and leave, not a crazy amount of socializing taking up an area.

This is the worst Golds Gym in Austin Matt is disrespectful to the members when they are working out he is never at the front when you want to buy a drink and is always on his phone so anyone can walk in. Brett yells at the members when he closes because he doesn't want to stay past 12:00am he has no patience both Matt and Brett need to go to management classes and learn how to talk to the members. The restrooms and showers are disgusting and there is equipment that has been broken for months, This gym is very crowed and there isn't any parking.

If you ever have a $20 late fee then expect Erica and Rick to drag it out over weeks and weeks. They like for you to forget they forgot. Listen this place is really run down. Regulars come and they go.... and I can see why. When you make a complaint they don't take you seriously. It's better to talk to a wall. Rick should be fired. He does nothing but give you an attitude. Put on some workout clothes and lose that belly man.

I'm in the process of trying to quit this Gold's because I'm moving. I quit my 1 year contract 2 months ago (they roped me into another month - via me coming in a couple days late past the 12 months - which I paid last month) and now I was just charged again for no reason. Their front desk people are extremely rude on the phone, very uncaring. I called yesterday and they said they'd have to contact their customer care and would get back to me... they never did. I called again this morning, and the man at the front desk basically laughed and said I needed to have kept my "cancelling receipt" that they printed out for me, and he said "well that's the reason why we print them out for you" - acting like they don't have a record... Very shady. Very rude. Both associates I've talked to in the past couple days seem to point the blame on me for being charged again, which makes absolutely no sense. I've legally been out of the contract for over 2 months now. I was warned by a friend that this same location happened to make this same "mistake" of charging you again after leaving. I've been a member at other Gold's in the past that were great, but after this experience, I don't plan on ever joining one again. I do not recommend this location.

That's my gym. I'll give it a 4 for the staff, 3 for cleanliness and 2 for the equipment. Most of the equipment is old and you have to clean them most of the time before using. Finding parking in the evenings on weekdays is hard. You might have better luck driving to the other side of the complex instead of waiting on a spot close to here. They have good scheduled cardio class sessions that you need to sign up for. They have a body scanner as well. I haven't checked the other Golds gyms in the area but definitely this one won't be the best but it is adequate.

The air conditioning in the spin classroom has been out for six weeks, and there is no commitment on when it will be replaced. This is Texas in the summer time. AC is a cost of doing business. Here's a joke: Gold's is promoting the upcoming release of RPM music/choreography by encouraging people to bring a friend with them. Why would someone bring a friend to a miserably hot spin class?

Absolutely love this gym. Great atmosphere. Excellent amenities. Wonderful customer service. The front desk staff is incredible... And that super hunky piece of mean meat, Jake makes the work out with it. Woof!

I like the front desk here. Jake especially because he's super sweet and so knowledgable. They're friendly , helpful which makes a difference in my opinion. Overall the gym is maintained very well. You won't see any broken machines and the tech who fixes the stuff here is on top of his game.
It's old school but there's a twist of Austin here. Really great gym with everything you need to get a great workout!

There are a few things that factor into this rating.
1. Staff
2. Facility
3. Location
The staff has always been super friendly to me. I got a slightly sales pitchy feeling from them the first time I visited, but then I just decided to enroll online and skip the up-sell nonsense altogether... Worth not having to deal people for me personally. Other than that they are typically smiling and leave you alone for the most part if you don't need help. The cleaning crew always seem to be busy fixing or cleaning something so they get a gold star in my book. 4/5
The facility itself is probably what drags my rating down the most honestly. Nothing against the management team or the cleaning crew, but this facility is just old and ragged. They keep if clean for the most part, but this gym has a TON of people that cycle in and out which keeps the wear and tear pretty intensive. I've been into a few Gold's gyms and I'm usually impressed with the facilities and appearance. This one has me washing my hands several times after I'm done just to feel "safe". I would give 3\5 based on effort and keeping this dinosaur alive. Compared to other Gold's it would probably be closer to 1/5 unfortunately.
That ties into my next point: Location. This place has pretty atrocious parking, and is not easy to get into with traffic around the area. The drive into the lot has a large dip with heavy speed bumps going up an incline with a slight right curve to get positioned to enter.. It's a nightmare entering and leaving this place for the most part. With parking and entry I would give it a 2\5 at best.
What bothers me most about this place is the lack of options for people that work or live nearby that don't want to stretch out to another Gold's. This place could use a complete renovation badly. In their defense .. They don't need to do any updates because that would just dig into their bottom line and they have a massive membership pool that really has no choice but to use them since they are the closest Gold's around for miles. They have cornered the local market for people like myself who workout during lunch break or don't want to drive further south to 290 or touch I35 in order to find a Golds. .. Genius really.
Side note -If I were a betting man with capital to invest in a franchise I wouldn't doubt that a new facility build in close proximity would be a huge success and probably drain most of the local customer base from this one. A recently bankrupt company with a local brick and mortar front comes to mind *cough cough ...Toys R Us ..cough. ... Just a thought. ;)

There are good gyms in the Gold's network. This is not one.
The locker rooms are overflowing with trash and there was a towel on the bench that looked stained with urine and who knows what. It was clearly abandoned there.
A "piso mojado" sign against the wall counts as a job well done, apparently.
Desk staff doesn't care.
Some newer machines mixed with older ones, but that's it. The aerobic equipment I used had a greasy film all over it, as though it is just never cleaned.

I give Anna Medrano ( big fat mexican girl with ghetto hair) a 0/10 for customer service. The way you handle members is RUDE. RUDE people make me sick. Anna seems unhappy then get ANOTHER job. Leave the members ALONE and DO YOUR JOB right.

This gym is older than dirt and their equipment is all rusted, creaky, or super gross because they don't clean. I use various Gold's and of course, there is always a gym smell. However, this gym smells like you walked into a sweaty sock. They make no effort to clean, sanitize, or even febreze. I hold my breath when I walk in and try to ignore it. Major upgrades and deep cleaning is needed... I would like someone to come test the bacteria in the air and on the equipment/mats here. Also, get used to walking to the opposite side of the gym to get paper towels to clean equipment... they only have a couple and the result is people not cleaning equipment. NASTY AF I HATE GOING HERE. Thankful I don't live here and only need to go when I visit the area.

I left another review detailing the rude behavior of the desk staff and the improper handling of my cancellation. Well it's been over 45 days since I cancelled and I am still being charged. I called today to see if a manager could talk to me about it, turns out I was lied to on the 23rd and desk staff can check accounts easily. Mine is still active. My paperwork was never even filed, despite work on my part to ensure it was..this gym is stealing from me. This is beyond unprofessional. I can't recommend this place to anybody.

Please clean your gym equipment, floors, trash bins and showers...or the WHOLE GYM?! Gold's Techridge...why does management accept such neglect for cleanliness? Why? I just look up at the ceiling the entire workout and then run out as fast as I can when I'm done! Not sure if I can continue my membership if something doesn't change.

This gym would be the diviest of dive bars if it were a dive bar. The place is never too crowded and is not particularly clean, but the people are super friendly and help each other more than at other squeaky clean gyms I've visited. I love the vibe here and hope it stays this way. My only complaints are the pop music they play and the ventilation in the chest and leg room.

I love this location for the "old school" gym feel. This location feels like a real gym rather than a "health club." I use free weights and cardio machines and so far have nothing but great experiences here. It's the gym I prefer out of others I've been to in Austin. See a lot of serious lifters/fitness people at this gym. Always greeted with a friendly smile and hello when I come to work out during lunch or after work. 5 star location.

I mean, it's Gold's. So you are getting everything you need to achieve your fitness goals, whatever those may be. The equipment is in good condition on everything I have used. They have a great assortment of free weights, dumbbells, and machines. I have two reasons for docking a star at this location. One is because the staff does not enforce some of the rules very well, and two, if a piece of equipment breaks it seems to take a long time to get it serviced. Also, no one racks their weight here. There are plates and dumbbells all over the floor and bars. While that isn't necessarily on the gym, it is a rule that they also fail to enforce.

my 17 year relationship with Gold's gym has ended today! 6-7 different Gm's, 100's of employees and trainers... I've outlasted them all. Through mold problems, faulty equipment, bad attitudes and horrible employees I stuck with them.... Excited about today, I wanted to introduce my 15 year old Daughter into incorporating other things into her W/O's .. Denied entry by an un-Informed front desk employee.. I would had paid a fee or added her to my membership if given the option. 17 years meant nothing as she played with her hair, jewelry and slapped down a form to terminate my membership.... Clearly loyalty means nothing to these people! I take my money someplace else!

Parking is limited at peak times. Nobody puts weights back. Good amount of people don't wipe down equipment after there done. At peak times hard to get a work out in. They need more cable machines and dumbells. Due to every body working out arms in the mirrors. Good place to go if it is leg day or cardio.
