We have been going to BodyBusiness (Village location) for a couple of years doing personal training once or twice a week and cardio other days.
In my experience, the gym is always clean and not so crowded that you have to wait for cardio equipment, a weight machine, or free weights. I have always been able to find a locker and the individual shower stalls are much more private than other gyms I have been to in the past.
The staff are friendly and helpful. I can't speak for the background of the other trainers, but our trainer has practical athletic experience (baseball) and really seems to know what's what. I went for a DXA at the University of Texas before starting at the gym and I went for another DXA after four or five months and I had put on 20 pounds of muscle. I was pretty happy with those training results.
BodyBusiness had a big remodel a few months back and the results are good. They have some new offerings like RowOnAustin with some pretty cool rowing machines and, I think this is new, TRIBE Team Training, which looks interesting. I'm not a big class guy, but the rowing looks pretty challenging.
Overall, good people staffing a good gym that has been around for a long time.
