The gym environment is great! I visit this location a few times a week. The facility is clean and the interactions with employees are great! This location is enjoyable and I look forward to having a great workout every single time!

It's a cool multi level gym in downtown Austin. Biggest complaint is that there is no water fountain on the main floor. Second biggest complaint is that it's smaller than some of the other golds, and doesn't have the variety of equipment.
Good gym, especially because of location. Has a sauna in women's restroom. Staff is friendly and all seemed pretty tidy and clean. Spin room available. Good selection of free weights and machines. Layout is awkward but I can tell the owners tried their best to put the most services, machines, and amenities into a smaller downtown location; so, no complaints.
Great experience here. Its clean and they've got a great selection of machines to workout from that appear to be well maintained. The bathrooms are much cleaner compared to most other gyms. The setting in the middle of downtown also makes it a much more enjoyable experience.

It is relatively new still, and is thus clean and well-lit, although the weight room could do with a water fountain.
Service is almost always friendly and helpful, and the manager is excellent and has directly assisted me when needed.
The location is very convenient to working downtown.

The machine-to-free-weight ratio is slightly more in the machine's favor, but there's still enough for me to hit all the muscle groups. The Cardio machines are at ground level and the facility is always super clean.
Living 25 minutes north of here, I consider this place an occasional treat just for the locale alone.

Exercise class floors always filthy dirty as well as the lockers are never wiped out, you have to do it yourself.
Can't stand Fox news or MSNBC and Gold's gym has 3 out of 4 TVs tuned to MSNBC. If it were one TV, it would be fine, but the whole gym?? Somebody there is politically extreme and we are a captive audience. I wouldn't want to have the entire gym dedicated to Fox, MSNBC or religious TV. That's just crazy. Change the channels to sports, music - any mainstream TV show. Even a station or two on reality TV would be better than having the entire gym dedicated to political polarized TV.

I just got hung up on by Gold's Gym staff Timothy. He refused to agree to contact headquarters to get a refund issued to me. He agreed I was owed a refund but asked for me to jump through unnecessary hoops in order for him to request my refund. I contacted Gold's gum online and they never responded to me. There is a circumstance that is making it difficult to provide the bank statement he wants; he refused to even try to request my refund without it. It's basic math. If in a 3 month period I only owe approximately $190 but I'm ending with a total of $240 being paid, I'm obviously owed money back. Their system shows I have a credit. Yet they refuse to use basic math to determine I am owed a refund and demand a bank statement showing the the charged my card DOUBLE.

Staff is very friendly. The gym is clean. A ton of machines. It does get extremely busy, but you can find times to work out when it is not too busy, and if it is busy some folks are great and will rotate machines with you!
Not very good location, its always busy and will most likely have to wait to get your workout done... I would recommend finding another location if you hate busy gyms like myself!
Good luck ever cancelling your membership. I moved want to join up at a closer gym, but even after the one year commitment, Gold's has continued to charge me even though I've made multiple calls to cancel the account.
Beyond that I never really even used the membership, I always found the staff to be condescending and unhelpful.
Avoid this business at all costs.
Pretty standard gym but had everything you would need. New equipment and can typically find a treadmill open even after work
It's about as good as a gym gets in downtown locations. The staff is nice, the equipment is well kept and extensive. The only complaint is the randomness of the cardio equipment, some is upstairs some down and since I was a day pass business traveler it made it a little hard to find. That said, if I lived here I'd join this gym.
Really cool place. Takes a minute to get used to but has a very modern interior design. A lot of use of the 3rd dimension. Cardio equipment looks out on 6th St. which is great if you're a people watcher.
Nice gym good equipment but underground & crowded especially the weight pit. I gave it the 4th star for the nice sauna in the men's locker room. No parking.
Visited from SoCal gold gyms, was greeted by a friendly Julia at the front desk. Gym had good range of gym goers, all polite, re-racked most of the weights from what I saw. All machines necessary to meet your goals are here at this gym. The reason for not earning a 5 star is for a slight lack of ambiance, some upbeat music would be cool.
Honestly, bang for your buck this place is pretty good. They don't have a pool, but they do have a dry Sauna. The facility and equipment are relatively new and decently clean. The nice thing about a membership here is that it applies to all locations. The downside of that perk is that not all locations have towel service if you pay for it. All in all, I would highly recommend for anyone who works downtown.
This location is my primary gym and while the facility itself is very nice, it is not big enough to accommodate the late afternoon/early evening weekday traffic. Almost every machine, bench and rack is in use with the area getting overcrowded. The squat racks especially are always in use and have lines (even in off-peak hours). Aside from that, the gym itself is well maintained and the staff I have interacted with are very friendly and helpful.
Recently joined and saw right away the staff was friendly. I was helped by a guy named Chris who went out of his way to get me all set up. So far so good!
Before joining Gold's Gym, I worked out at an expensive boutique gym with top of the line equipment, beautiful locker rooms, towel service, incredible classes, etc so I had pretty low expectations coming in. Overall, I have been very impressed with this Gold's Gym location. The equipment is maintained well, the staff is very friendly and the gym is clean. And best of all, I'm saving $140 a month! I wish I could say the same for the other Gold's Gym locations in the area but luckily for me, this is the closest and most convenient for me.
Visiting Austin to find an apartment. Signed up for the VIP pass which I thought was very cool. Representative contacts me fast and I say I'm coming down right away. I show up and am told that it only applies to local residents... They could give me one day to be nice... when you receive the pass via email, it does clarify local. However, there is no mention when you sign up... I grabbed my phone after they called and didn't bother checking the fine print because they called... I am moving to Austin in a month, that wasn't good enough for Golds Austin... I'm now very motivated to find a different gym to give my membership to... Waste of my time...
1 water fountain for the whole weight gym?! Am I missing something? Not to mention the fact that the stairway to the lockers is only a 1 person width. Who ever designed this should've been fired before the plans went into affect. Look at other locations for a better experience, even if that does warrant having to use older machines.
