I first visited Sukha on South Lamar on a vacation to Austin over two years ago. I took a class with Erinn and felt her genuine love for teaching yoga and holding space. She was warm and welcoming and I could tell that she intended to be that way with every student that walked through the doors. I thought about Sukha a lot after returning home and checked their social media often to see if I could figure out the perfect weekend to visit and take a workshop. Instead, I went all in and decided to take a six month long meditation teacher training with both Mark and Erinn the beginning of this year. This was a big leap of faith because I would be flying there every month, had only met Erinn once, and had never met Mark. The first night, I walked through the doors at the Eastside location and felt, again, welcomed and at ease. That night, when I heard Mark talk and share, I knew immediately that I had been given the perfect teachers (both of them!) to take me through this life changing experience. I am not exaggerating. The meditation teacher training has been and continues to be one of the most transformative experiences of my lifetime. Not only did I gain a great deal of knowledge about The Kundalini and Buddhist meditation practices, but I learned more about myself, my soul, my purpose, and my truth. I also learned more about my relationship with others. I gained new interests, new perspectives, and friends. Even though Sukha is far away, it holds a very special place in my heart and I know the love that is there continues to support the students that walk through those doors, no matter who they are, and I know I will be met with a warm welcome when I return. Plus the place is just so freaking beautiful and well thought out!!! Also, David and Abby, other teachers at Sukha that helped with the training, were icing on the cake. Sukha yoga is like none other!
