This gym is an amazing place to go for whatever your goals are, from losing weight to bulking up, this is the place to be. Every coach is supportive and attentive so that you can do the workouts properly and without injury. I highly reccomend this place even if you're just starting on your fitness journey. They also have dogs.
This facility is fine. I feel that I became stronger from doing the weightlifting routines here. I noticed an increase in power, but not so much in endurance when I went back to doing my regular workouts. I prefer longer workouts personally. I likely won't go back, but I appreciate the 6 week challenge for what it was. I feel that I picked up some good exercises from the program. The class sizes were appropriate.
I joined Chalk Training through the 6-week challenge. It was a challenging but rewarding program that really helped me jump start into a healthier lifestyle. What I like about this gym is that you are working out in a small group of anywhere from 4 to max 8 people. You get the kind of attention you would get in a personal training setting without the awkwardness of someone watching your every move. The community keeps it fun and interesting - and makes you feel challenged! They also focus a lot on mobility, good form, and taking care of yourself in general. Highly recommend this gym!
The coaches Crystal and Tom are smart, encouraging, completely knowledgeable and perceptive. They are the best trainers I have ever worked with. The classes are small and efficient, and Tom and Crystal explain and model each stretch or activity. The classes are well organized and I never am bored with the different movements. I completely recommend these two for their clean gym, the clients' results, the excellent equipment. The convenient location is also a positive.

If your wish is either you could have a personal trainer but cannot afford it or you want a community/group that pushes one another, Chalk grants both those wishes. With class sizes no bigger than 8, you get the benefit of personal training along with the comradery of a group. And each class includes an individual training component! Oh, and the coaches know their stuff and genuinely care about you and your health.

It sounds cliche but it is absolutely true...Tom and Crystal at Chalk Training have changed my life. I did not prioritize my health in the way that I should prior to starting at Chalk. Over the last year, Tom and Crystal have taught me so much about nutrition, movement, well-being, and health. They are truly inspiring in the way they share their love and knowledge of these topics to transform others' lives.

After 2 babies in 2 years followed by a cross-country move and another 2 years later, I've gained 20 lbs. I know what proper diet and exercise is, but I hadn't been doing it - not even close. I needed help, a coach of some sort, but being in a new place I didn't know where to go or who I could trust. A good friend introduced me to Tom and Crystal and Chalk Training and my experience with them over the last 6 months has blown me away. I am achieving my goals (getting there!) and I've found an awesome community of like-minded people at Chalk - dare I say, I like going to the gym? These coaches know their stuff. You can ask "why" as many times as you want and you'll always get an educated, thoughtful answer about the workout you're performing. I just know this is the best place in Austin to get strong and achieve your health and fitness goals.
