Easily the worst experience I have ever had in a gym.
To elaborate, I have never once been approached by anyone at any gym I've been to in 25 years about making noise during a workout (specifically heavy deadlifting) until going to THIS gym.
I was spoken to about this by several different employees at different points, including my final workout there when the owner interrupted me twice in one workout. He went so far as to tell me I was "disturbing the doctor" (a chiropractor who I have never once seen with a patient at any time of the day). When I informed him that I, too, am a doctor, the look on his face told me that he knew he had heavily misjudged me, probably as some irresponsible, overbearing, tattooed meathead trying to disrupt the peace with my ego lifting. This is in addition to his careless clients repeatedly disrespecting my space and getting in my way at the start of several sets of pull-ups, and once even bumping into me DURING a set of cable rows. His answer to this was that I should tell him who these people were so that he could talk to them like he was talking to me, as if this is elementary school and we're all tattling to the teacher about other kids in the class. I simply walked out before my workout was concluded and promptly canceled my membership and my kids' memberships the following day.
If you are serious about truly getting stronger, working hard, and giving it everything you got every single workout, this is NOT the gym for you. If you are looking for social hour in Steiner Ranch, keeping up with the Joneses at the gym, and tattling like petty little children to the owner on other people who actually DO work hard to improve themselves, this is the gym for you. Pathetic.
