Love NFC a great place to get healthy and fit. The staff are wonderful, the equipment is clean, feel very safe there with virus going on..
Great equipment and wonderful staff. I've been a member for almost 2 months. While maybe not the newest facility they do keep the equipment in working order. My only thing keeping them from 5 stars is a broken urinal in the bathroom which hasn't been fixed since I've been going to this location.
Nice facility to workout. Swimming Pool is a plus along with Hot Spa Pool, Dry Sauna and Steam Room. Friendly Staff. Convenient location.
Transitioned here when Gold's Gym at East Town closed. Gym has plenty of space and all the equipment neccessary to meet your fitness goals. Facility is clean and the staff works diligently to meet your needs. Overall I have no issues with the gym and would recommend joining if you are looking to join a gym.
Customer service is great here. They work to insure you are comfortable and where you need to be training wise.

Amazing facility with an amazing staff. I just wish they had some later yoga classes for those of us who work odd shifts or go to church on Sunday. They have so much to offer! I love going because I know they keep their machines clean and in good order.

Changing my review to 3 stars from 5 stars.
1. The open hours are now only up to midnight. This does not work for those that have a night schedule or have irregular work hours.
2. You go to the gym to focus on working out but all the TVs are set to News (except for the treadmill and bike section). Change it to another channel like ESPN Sports or something else not distracting. It is hard not to look at especially late at night.
3. Access to equipment like more kettlebells, non-bounce balls, TRX or the Jungle Gym, and Hex DBs.

Work out was good minus cardio theather tripped in dark over a speaker in middle of floor, bruising my knee pretty bad.
A very kind staff, willing to reason to get you in to try out the center. That's what sold me. Great child care center.
I really enjoy working out at this facility. I've been a member here for 6 years, and don't see that changing. The club is clean, the machines are top-notch, and the staff are amazing. The general manager (Patrick) is always willing to help with anything . He's very accommodating and knowledgeable in fitness. He helps pushing me to hit my goals, and I appreciate that.

J'Marcus is BY FAR the nicest front desk employee. Always so kind and friendly in the mornings and makes THE BEST smoothie. Love walking in and seeing his smiling face.
The facilities are very nice and the classes are great. I especially like Karen's Body Flow and Body Pump class and the pool. Being a member is fine. Trying to not be a member anymore is what is hard.
What prompted me to write this review was the frustrating and difficult process it was to cancel my membership. I was a member for three years and hadn't been going regularly in over a year so I was ready to cancel my membership when my contract was up. I tried to cancel over the phone with member services and I was told that I had to go in and do it in person. I showed up on a Saturday and was told the manager has to do it and that he would be in on Monday. Frustrated, I showed up Monday and was told that I had to have an appointment, which was not mentioned to me before. A few days later I called to make an appointment with the manager. I was hoping to be seen that day because I was going to be in the area. I was told by the receptionist that even though the manager was in his office that for cancellations she is supposed take a number and the manager will call the next day. I asked her to please let me talk to him because I had been trying for days to cancel and she said no and "this is the way we do things." When I finally was able to get an appointment to cancel I was grilled by the manager as to why I was cancelling and when I made it clear several times I was not going to reconsider he gave me a speech about how he lost 300 lbs and how he hates to see me "let myself go" like this. I felt insulted I really didn't know what to say. I do not think he intended to be insulting and I understand that his pay and the performance of the gym rely on maintaining members, but I felt like I was being pressured and made to feel small. Finally I felt the need to express my frustration to him about the whole process and tell him what I had been though and instead of apologizing and trying to make it right or considering how things could have gone better he became defensive and it escalated into a verbal argument which I had not intended. I don't even think I would have written this review if I felt like my complaints had been legitimized and heard but he made me feel like I was crazy for speaking up about my bad experiences. To top it all off, they are going to charge me for another month because I didn't give a 30 day notice, which I could have done if the company had allowed me to do cancellations over the phone.
I don't blame any one person for by bad experience and perhaps it's part of a bigger, corporate gym problem. He mentioned that he is the only manager so perhaps some of the problem could be solved by hiring a second manager.
Also, I realize it is not their fault that the company requires that you cancel your membership in person and that there is probably a lot of pressure on them to maintain members. I think that is a change that needs to happen at the top. We are adults, we can make our own decisions about our healthcare and don't need to have our minds changed by the manager through guilt tactics.
Fantastic gym. The size is amazing. Plenty of room and multiples of machines so your never waiting on equipment. Room to spread out and not be crowded. Great atmosphere. Knowledgeable staff. Been my gym for almost 2 years now. Have no plans to leave

Not a bad gym. Free weight area can get crowded.
No doubt, this is the place to be for people who wants to shed extra pounds. The facility here is great and the program is perfectly fitted to anyone.
For the Facilities I give a pretty high star. The equipment is top notch. Unfortunately, the sales staff are pretty dishonest. It was specified to me many, many times only $195 in big bold print to cancel anytime. Well, this is NOT the case. The back of the contract in small print was never pointed out to pay out. Now, I'm stuck in a situation where I need to cancel but cannot afford it. Don't get caught in this bait and switch. It will cost you $2500 to cancel period. Don't even look at that $195 giant bold print to cancel. You will not be told this during sales pitches.
My boyfriend wanted to go here because he could stop on his way home from work to work out. When we went in to sign him up, we stood at the front desk waiting on help for a few minutes. We were, finally, greeted by a blonde woman, who I'm assuming was the front desk manager, who had spent these few minutes talking to other staff behind the counter. She talked to us with a turned-up nose like she didn't appreciate being interrupted by potential new clients. We were directed to Brett or Brent. I'm unsure of his name. He was very nice as he started the signing up process. We made it very clear that my boyfriend didn't want a contract, he just wanted to pay month to month. Brett/Brent told us that this is what he was signing up for and that he could cancel at anytime. So my boyfriend signed. Now, when signing there are some things on paper that you can read and a lot on Brett's computer screen that you can't see it all. Just keep that in mind. My boyfriend loved working out there. He was doing really well losing weight and gaining muscle and enjoyed the array of workout equipment. Then, one day, he noticed that $75 charges were coming out of his bank account. He called National Fitness Center and was told that these were late fees. In a moment of irritation he informed them that he'd like to cancel his membership. He was taken aback when he was told that he couldn't cancel his membership as he'd signed a three-year contract. He retorted by letting them know that he was only supposed to be month to month or he wouldn't have signed up at all. He remembered being told by Brett/Brent that all forms signed electronically would be emailed to him. So he searched his email frantically to find them. Lo and behold there was his electronic signature on a form saying that he agreed to the three-year contract. Remember my saying that Brett/Brent assured us that he was only signing up for month to month and could cancel at any time? And the forms on his computer screen couldn't be seen he would just give you a verbal overview of what you were signing? A 3 year contract was never mentioned by Brett/Brent. So my boyfriend contacted the manager and was told that he would have to contact the corporate office. When he contacted the corporate office he was told they couldn't do anything and he would have to contact the very same manager who said he'd have to contact corporate. He's called for the manager twice and has been told by two different people that a message would have to be taken so the manager could return his call. He's still waiting for that call. Oh and $75 charges continue to come out of his account. The situation just sucks because he was doing so well but he refuses to go back because he feels it's a company full of swindlers, cheats and liars. We're going to go and try to talk with them one more time but, if they are unwilling to be reasonable, we'll be seeking legal action.
We signed a three year contract. We moved about the time it was up. With most workout places when your contract is up you can go to monthly or just don't go back, the end. Not so with national fitness, they want a certified or registered letter plus an extra months fee. It doesn't even matter that there aren't any facilities within there required distance. So you think that would be the end of it but no they called my husband today and tried a very underhanded tactic on him. They had the audacity to say that to end your contract it has to be current and tried to get him to sign up again!! He was way more polite than I would have been. He told the lady that we were current when we ended the contract and he didn't appreciate the call. Luckily we had heard how bad they are at trying to scam you and we went through the trouble to change our account so that they couldn't draw any more money out as we heard that this is also a practice of theirs. STAY AWAY!!
Clean, friendly staff that treats you like family won't go anywhere else.
