This was my first yoga experience taught by an instructor, and the experience was fantastic. The room is candle-lit with heat cranked up pretty high. Show up early and you can have 5-10 minutes to relax in a quiet and serene environment with light music in the background. My instructor Sharon was super encouraging to my friend and I! While we consider ourselves in good overall shape we definitely were not as flexible as most of the class, and she encouraged modification of poses and going at your own pace. I walked out of there completely drenched in sweat, so a change of shirt is recommended if you live far. My body and mind felt refreshed after the experience, although you will experience some major soreness the days following your class if you are not accustomed to deep stretching. My hammies and hip flexors were the main culprits. I recommend continually stretching the days after to relieve this feeling. I am so excited to continue yoga after this class, very inspiring and awesome energy from everyone here! One small suggestion is that the meditation following the stretches (5-10 minutes or so), be a little more quiet and less guided.
