Recently, about 3 months ago, rejoined the Sports Barn (family plan) after being away since (around 2008). The North location is in desperate need of facility investment. The equipment is old, the paint is chipping away, most of the audio connections on the cardio don't work and, if they do, the sound is awful. The price of membership is not comensurate to the quality of the facility. Disappointed.
Great gym but the HVAC isn't keeping up with the atmosphere of the Sports Barn. I really enjoy the concept of the Sports Barn but there's certain aspects that need some attention. I went downtown and everything was fine as was Lee Hwy. The East location needs some TLC.
Great pool, cookout on summer Saturdays. Climbing wall, good locker room, great weight rooms, racquetball, hot tub, sauna, steam room, nice big parking lot. Good free WiFi, excellent staff, new furniture in setting area, lots of TV's and good music playing.

Nice gym, not usually crowded, but HOT in the summer. In the afternoon the downstairs thermometer reads 79.4. Mercifully, I haven't seen an upstairs thermometer, so I can only guess exactly how miserable it is near the treadmills/ellipticals.

Pool heater was broken down all winter so had to go to east location to swim. This is a hassle to drive across town. After it was supposed to be fixed in April, I returned but it still wasn't working and water was dirty. Pool maintenance at North is unacceptable. Also lockers are cheap fiber board and several are broken. East location is in better repair.

Great staff, great members, clean facility.
Staff is very friendly. Atmosphere is great. Gym and locker room is clean.
Place isn't usually crowded and it's kept up very well. Very clean. nice equipment.
Not only do I workout here but I'm employed here signed for membership in 2005 never looked back...best gym In Chattanooga..3 locations Hixson,Downtown Chattanooga, and Lee hwy
The air conditioning does not work properly. It is between 75-84 degrees in the cardio area every afternoon . I have emailed regularly with no acknowledgement that it will be corrected. I love the equipment and lay out of the facility. It's a perfect location and the fact that there is an outside pool is such a plus but communication with the manager over the temperature has gone nowhere. Its ridiculous to workout in that type of environment .
