I started at Bochner's in November, after 5 years at the same kickboxing studio. After taking about 4 months from working out, I really needed to jump back in. I had heard from some friends that had joined so it was an easy decision. Walking into a new place can be intimidating at times, but I didn't feel that way at all. I felt myself getting stronger and my endurance started building back up. The coaches are approachable and very supportive, and setting fitness goals, whatever level you are, has never been easier!
Bochner's kickboxing classes are my absolute favorite! The coaches, music and classes are fun, heart-pumping and full of positive energy. No one is in competition with one another and the coaches are great at cheering you on! You can go at your own pace and stay in your comfort zone with modifications fit for you, or challenge yourself with each move. Every class is different so you're always working different parts of your body and every class is an amazing workout. Best in Cranston!
My son has been coming to class here once a week for the last couple of years. He loves everything about it! The classes are fun, the instructors are knowledgeable, and they really work with you at whatever level you feel most comfortable. Being a teacher, I love the concept of the mat chat and the focus being around self defense. Highly recommend!!
BRSD is the best martial arts school in RI! For anyone intimidated by joining a dojo, this is the place for you! Sensei Marc and all the instructors are knowledgeable and patient. It's very hands on and you get a lot of personal attention. It's a welcoming and friendly place by both the staff and students. As someone who had no experience, everyone was very supportive and encouraging from the white belts to black belts. After almost two months, I feel confident I can defend myself in most situations and it's great exercise to keep the mind and body healthy. The instruction you get from class 1 is 100% practical and very useful. Sensei Marc and company remove all the frills to create a fun and effective class cirriculum that changes daily so it's never the same class twice. Highly recommended for both absolute beginners and higher ranks. Would recommend to anyone interested. Thanks BRSD!
I had a wonderful experience with Sensei Marc and his instructors during my 1 month self defense course! Everyone was extremely welcoming and helpful, and I immediately felt comfortable coming in for class several times per week. I had no prior experience, and the course helped prepare me for any situation in which I would need to defend and protect myself! As a young woman who lives independently and enjoys travel, I would recommend the class to anyone looking to gain skills and confidence needed for self defense.

My son was bullied last year, I signed up my son at Bochner Realistic self defense to help my son defend himself. Not only did they help him protect himself but they helped bust his confidence. His self esteem was better he was more confident going to school and he was able to sleep at night. Thank you Marc and all the instructors

As a sport and orthopedic physical therapist and life long athlete, I can be very critical of facilities. Sensi Marc and his team are outstandingly ahead of the curve. Having worked one on one with him in the past I can attest to his attention to form and uplifting teaching style. His background as a physical therapist himself also shines through. The self defense taught here marries different styles and combines real world self defense strategies. Ok He's assembled an amazing and dedicated team, and my oldest son now works with them weekly and loves it. Kids here get more than self defense, they're taught basic life skills and kindness toward everyone. I honestly cannot wait until my youngest child is old enough to take part. I've worked with many others and will always recommend him to people first. Please do yourself a favor and visit!

This is an awesome place to study self-defense . Marc does a terrific job with the kids, teens and adult levels. My son Coby has learned so much more than just how to throw a punch, from diffusing a situation, to being constantly aware of his surroundings and concepts of dealing with school bully's. This is the best place for Martial Arts training !! They really do a fantastic job .in preparing people for real life situations.
My son has been coming here since September, not even 3 months in and he's already learned so much. Every class is super fun, lots of laughs and always a good time even when your just sitting there watching. I would highly recommend anyone with children to come give it a try and see for yourself, promise you will not be disappointed!
I attended the Empower Mom free intro to Self Defense class on Sunday 5/21. It was awesome! It was my first time as such an activity and I was hesitant at first. The staff was super friendly and quickly set me at ease. I had a great time and would love to return with my family for more classes. Don't let the location keep you away. I was not impressed when I first drove up but once I walked in I was transformed to a clean, friendly and comfortable environment. Would highly recommend!

Awesome professional Dojo that will set you up with physical and mental skills for life. The group atmosphere is easy going and will introduce you to the use of force and self control. Not only does Bochner's teach you self defense but also teaches the greater skill of how to diffuse various situations without using force. A completely different atmosphere than other Martial Arts schools. Highly recommended!

My son has been with BRSD for approximately 5 years. He began as their very first Tiger and is now 9 and currently a Purple Belt in their youth class. He has gain so much confidence and respect by attending classes here. Sensei Marc and his staff are all very kind, friendly and want to be sure it's a fun and safe environment for all.
