Great classes, awesome instructors and fun staff.....just need some regular housekeeping to keep the locker rooms and studios clean.

Feels like a cave
Not a good gym for someone looking to train with barbells
One squat rack, one pressing bench, a single deadlift platform without a dedicated bar. A small set of dumbbells.
Underwhelming compared to my normal YMCA, comparable to or worse than Wexford

Should be called YMCA WEEKDAY EXPRESS

Well first of all, I expected something a bit more appealing inside "the steel tower". It's basically made to accommodate cardio goers that get to go free through work. Not like any YMCA I have ever belonged to or visited before. No straight pull-up bar/cable rows/pulldown cable/foam rollers/sauna/pool/track/basketball/pickleball/tiny tiny weight space/limited weights/ CLOSED on WEEKENDS?..

1 stars because the first day WAS TOLD BY STAFF (one-trainer,one desk lady & a cleaner all sitting talking) that I was allowed to use the pull-up bar mounted on the wall which has a note only for (personal training only?) right by it. A few days later I was approached randomly by a worker saying I can't use it. Talked to the manager via the desk worker & she said whatever the trainer says goes! Bottom line.. But two different trainers told me two different things!?.. It threw me off & haven't been back since. It should be a strict rule, not what the trainer says. Seems like the MANAGER IS UNDERQUALIFIED.

Not a bad facility. They've packed a fair amount of equipment in a small space. So you should be good if you're a self starter. If you like group classes, the small space becomes more apparent. Limited spots and tight quarters make for an interesting experience. As long as everyone is wearing their old spice and it should be fine.

Downtown in a building that has about two hundred members and parking is expensive and have got to cost an extreme amount per square foot and the availability for younger people( 17 and under) is basically non existent and approximately two miles from the Ymca on Centre ave but communities Ymca buildings that had nearly 1000 members were being shut down because the organization in Pittsburgh is having budget issues. Read this and tell me how it makes sense.

You do not get what you pay for. Black mold in shower stalls, terrible water pressure, flithy floors. The handicap shower stall drain overflows when the shower is running for more than 5 min. I informed them of this on multiple occasions. Equipment is in good shape but the gym locker room is poorly maintained.

Convenient and affordable if you work downtown. Crowded during lunch hours but not often crowded after 5pm. Not open on the weekends, no pool, and no saunas. Check out the market square location for those.

Convenient location for downtown workers. Clean environment and locker rooms. Friendly staff. Plenty of weight/resistance machines, treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals. Somewhat limited free weights. Three group exercise rooms.

Wife joined YMCA. She stopped working in the US steel building but her membership continued.. Auto cancel 60 days after card expired.. yep she paid for this for months without knowing.. that's ok that is her fault.. I understand. What I don't understand is why after her card stopped working that they continued to bill.. when they could easily see she has not used the gym in months.. We never got any calls, or anything .. they claimed they where sending emails but never got those either... So.. now the balance was for 60 days.. we get a call.. pay full amt or else we will send you to collections. I try to argue my point.. meet me in the middle... charge me for 30 days and cancel it.. but no.. they want the full amt.. I even had a supervisor call me back.. same deal still not bugging.. I felt like they should of split it with us because one we paid for months we never used.. and two.. we where even willing to pay for another month on top of that to clear it all up. So, I just wanted to feel like we where compromising. But.. in the end, i paid them their money, but now they get this bad review to let others know.... there are better options like LA fitness.. much better in my opinion. Customer service... it comes back to bite you when you don't care about your customers.. I hope this review turns people away from your facility
