Is there a basketball court here?
They have been charging my card each month even though they assured me they would stop. I've spoken with each of the gentlemen in the office and both have promised to help but neither has. I intend to escalate my complaint. Very disappointing and not what id thought the YMCA stood for. Thank you for the response but Id appreciate it if you would refund my card as per the conversation i had with one of your associates in august
Been a member here for a few + years and now considering changing. The staff is very nice, however the facility maintenance is going down hill. The men's steam room has been shut down for I believe almost two years. It was leaking water into the clothing store below. As a member who also used this as criteria for paying $54/month I don't want to hear nor care that it's too expensive to fix or a number of other excuses I am given when I ask at the check in desk. So now the room is filled with junk and paint cans. The workout area is nice, but now ventilation is poorly maintained. Sun is glaring in the windows at the cardio equipment to the point you need sunglasses and it gets very hot. Why they wont spend the money to have shades on the windows is beyond me. Their air conditioning can not keep up with the summer heat. Poor design but easily fixable. Not a huge deal you come to the gym to work out and get sweaty anyway however go into the locker room and you will experience even worse ventilation. It was never like this. Take a shower and you are still sweating! Their temporary solution is a few floor fans blowing around the humid, smelly air. If I weren't paying full membership prices I probably wouldn't be so upset but repeated complaints have gone no where. Same excuse, we have a company coming into look at it. This has been going on for at least 6 months. In the main men's locker room, lockers are rusting and dirty inside, floor tile is missing, sinks are usually dirty and soap dispensers barely work if at all.
On a side note, they are getting all new cardio equipment this week which may be nice but this doesn't fix the sun in your face and sauna effect in the room after 5 pm. Unfortunately for now the only other affordable gym in town is golds and their reviews are very mixed as well. Consider all these things when joining. If you get a discounted rate it may be worth it. The design of the facility/equipment and the staff are nice, but if maintenance keeps going down hill, to me none of that will matter.
Decent floor space with machines, but I don't like the treadmills (belt too hard), and the sauna is never on or hot. I workout for 90-120 minutes at a time. Frustrating.
Top notch organization with everything you need for weight training. Whether from in town or out of town they take care of you. My gym when I come to pittsburgh hands down! Plus all the staff are friendly and professional. Shout out to Brandon too!

Recently updated a lot of the gym equipment. Their workout classes are top quality - especially the Cycling/Spin classes. The staff is very friendly, and the place is clean. Sure, it gets hot in there, but I'm there to sweat. Has all of the equipment that you will need - including three Concept2 ergs/rowing machines.

Excellent new facility in historic building.
The PNC YMCA is great - the equipment is new, well maintained, and the workout areas are not congested. While you workout, you have a nice view of the city and market square. For $55 a month and no annual contract, you are getting a fantastic deal.
