This place is not just a gym, it's a community. The people who work here go above and beyond to make it a supportive and caring place. I love that it's a female-owned small business that honors the strength and power of women, while making sure all people feel welcome, challenged, and supported. I have a hard time doing the same workout multiple days in a row, so I also love that with one membership I can take yoga, cycling, strength training, Pilates - Sometimes several of these combined into one class. I've had a membership here for well over a year and feel healthier and stronger than I've ever been. Thanks, UEC!

Despite being power yoga, the classes at UEC are perfect for all levels and whatever mood you're in. The instructors will always remind you to check in with yourself first and foremost, and encourage you to challenge yourself when you want to or to take it easy on yourself when you need to. I'm amazed by the real community UEC harbors, with beginner to experienced practitioners all practicing together without either one feeling out of place. Now I actually really like that they don't have differentiated classes, because it's completely up to me what pace I want to go at, which allows me to show up every day. The teachers are so in tune with the mood of their classes that they will meet you where you are.

I initially joined UEC for the yoga, but the owners, instructors, and members in general are so warm, welcoming, and FUN to be around that I eventually started taking their spin and bootcamp classes too. Such a good workout and so much support!

The customer service at UEC is also the best I've experienced. I still don't know how but somehow all the teachers knew my name, some before I had even taken classes with them. It was really welcoming, and I think it really goes to show how the instructors/owners really care about making you feel valued and part of a community.

The spin bikes are an integral part of what makes this studio so unique. The RealRyder bikes are so cool, they lean side to side (you control the lean) and it makes the classes--and your core--so much more engaged!

Because I can't shut up about this place, I'm going to say a little bit about what I especially love about each instructor's class.

Britt - Britt's flows are poetry! I love how her sequences are so smooth and often times almost feel like a dance. I am always dead after class because it is POWER, but I feel dead and beautiful haha. Her classes are a great reminder of the necessary balance of strength and grace.

Cassie - I know all instructors encourage you to take what you need, but I really appreciate how Cassie will really make a point to say we can do what variations we want apart from her cues. I always felt very free and encouraged in her class!

Catherine - I love how Catherine really gets you out of your head by taking some unconventional detours during the vinyasa! I remember a few times she had us do this push and pull thing, and at first I was so confused, only to realize later it was exactly what I needed.

Kayla - ESSENTIAL OILS. Stories! Peak pose flows! Often times Kayla's classes will build to peak poses, which is really nice because the class will also incorporate drills, kind of like you are in a workshop. The theme extends to a little background story she might give on the pose and some essential oil use!

Loren - Loren's classes are all HEART. Heart, because your heart rate will definitely be up up up! But not only that, heart because Loren will somehow know exactly what you need to hear to help heal whatever has been weighing on you. I have cried during savasana in her class. Whatever.

Meagan - Meagan's classes were the perfect antidote to the fear I mentioned earlier that all the classes here are power yoga. While she definitely serves up the tough power yoga style (with an AWESOME playlist), she often will check in with the class to see if they are more interested in a slower or even a full yin style class. She's the perfect Sunday morning teacher.

Sarah - Sarah is a sweetheart, and she also is very supportive and warm throughout class. Unfortunately because of my work schedule I was only able to make it to her class once, but it definitely made an impression and I wish I could have gone more.

Sharon - Sharon's classes are the perfect place to grow and get comfortable with being uncomfortable--in the most comfortable way! It's exactly what you want out of a yoga class-- challenge, support, and FUN. She leads you through unique and challenging transitions, but with no pressure and so much fun along the way! She'll always be there to remind you "it's just yoga."

I moved to Pittsburgh from Atlanta about a year ago not knowing a soul, but I immediately found a home at UEC. Not only was I getting a killer workout from a mix of classes (Ryde, Fusion and flow), but I was actually enjoying myself and looked forward to going to the studio (vs dreading it like other gyms). The coaches took the time to get to know me, understand my fitness goals and help me unlock my greatest potential.

I should also mention that this was my first go-around with yoga and it has changed my life. Like I can't picture my life without weekly (if not daily) practice. It's become an integral part of who I am and I thank Sharon and Brittany for that and the community they've built at UEC. If you're looking for a community and amazing classes that flex your muscles and your mind, you gotta stop by!

Oh yeah, they put cold lavender towels over your forehead during savasana and after an intense, heated flow class, there's not better.

This place rocks. Every class is great and all the instructors are wonderful. I love the variety of classes this studio offers so I can come daily and always have something different to do.

Their cycle classes use Real Ryder bikes that lean and turn. These bikes will challenge not only your legs but your arms and core. I find this to be way more exciting than a normal spin bike because you are actually MOVING. It is hard to be bored when it feels like you are on a real bike.

My favorite class at this studio is a tie between their bootcamp and yoga- I love the feeling of leaving a class and being challenged both mentally and physically.

Urban Elements has an offer of $20 for 10 days is a great way to check this studio out and try all the classes.

This place is so amazing and the instructors are so inspirational! I highly suggest trying this place out! I have been coming here for about 2 years and they keep all of the classes feeling new, fresh and challenging! Both Brit and Sharon believe in every single person who walks in the door and will push you to your potential. I promise you'll love it here.

This is a great cycling studio. Being an experienced spin rider and an out of town, I felt the staff and patrons were welcoming, helpful, and really made for a good ride and workout experience. The instructor took the time to make sure we were comfortable and familiar with the bike setup. The workout was as good as any we have had in this country. Will definitely work out there every chance. In summary, they love their customers and their workouts.

UEC offers *hands down* the best yoga classes I have ever taken. The power yoga classes and fusion classes of cycling and yoga or conditioning keep me motivated and excited to come back! The teachers are all incredibly approachable and welcoming and offer options for beginners to advanced yogis. If you're in the Pittsburgh area, it's definitely worth dropping in to sweat it out!

I'm totally new to yoga so I was a little nervous going into my first class. I had heard great things, but I knew my flexibility and balance needed some work. At Urban Elements, I felt welcome and encouraged right from the start. I literally couldn't be more happy with how the class turned out. Rachelle made me feel comfortable adjusting positions where I needed to, and provided the perfect combination of intense work and amazing relaxation. I will definitely be back.

UEC is amazing. My friends I went to a double class, starting with Ryde and the doing a 75 minute Power Yoga Flow. Brittany was our ryde instructor and she was the greatest - challenging, supportive, and empowering! And Sharon led an amazing yoga practice, always helping you to push your physical limits while breaking down your mental barriers. Can't wait to go back!

Hot power yoga was just what I needed to squeeze out the toxins of travel. Brittany was truly incredible. She has a strong, confident voice that moves through your body and on to your mat. She was very attentive to her students and with a couple simple corrections she transformed my practice and brought me to the next level. Her impact will send ripples through my life's journey with yoga. :)
