I joined this gym in 2006, cancelled my membership, rejoined in 2017. I will be cancelling my membership again.
The gym is in a convenient location, but thats it. There's not enough equipment for the size of the crowd that comes in. The equipment that is there has a 50/50 chance of being broken. The locker room has many lockers that are broken, with no door, part of a door, and isnt very clean. And now im finding hidden membership fees that were not disclosed at the time of signing up.
I once notified a staff member that a piece of equipment was not functioning correctly. If you put the weight above 50 lbs., it would cause the machine to have some kind of audible friction and you had to work twice as hard to use it. The staff member simply said not to put the weight that high and walked away.
When you think "Gold's Gym", you think of all the hype and standards you would expect from a gym as old as Gold's. What you get, at least with this location, is frustration, disappointment, and a lack of assistance from the staff.
