Fantastic venue for a bachelor party. The guys who work there pride themselves on safety. Fairly certain a few of my friends are going to join the league they host.
They take the time to teach you what to do and it's great for loners and big parties. Everyone is kind and knowledgeable. Prepare yourself for heavy exercise!
I did this with a bunch of friends for a bachelor party I planned and it was a lot of fun. We got great instruction from the guys running the show and it was a blast to beat the heck out of each other for a couple hours. So much fun, we didn't even notice that we stopped drinking for 3 hours of the bachelor party!
had a lot of fun but bring your own camera. we went here for a bachelor party and they video taped every fight but they never sent us the footage or the photos and its assumed it was lost, otherwise it was a great time.
It was a blast! Definitely be prepared to get a helluva workout and sweat through you clothes. Staff was very helpful in learning and staying safe. Honestly walked away with no real notable injuries, outside some minor brusing.
A hero desires a sword, and a sword desires truth. Our Bachelor party had a great time at Battlesword Philly! Our party of 10 had a blast striking each other with long swords, gladius, katanas, Oh My! The staff was very friendly and accommodating as they helped us suit up for battle. What made the experience so worth while was their attention to detail and coaching us on great fighting techniques as we we're engaged in battle.
You will night find another experience like this anywhere else! Would highly recommend for any occasion and would repeat in a heart beat!
Did this today for a friends birthday party and it was a lot of fun. Way more challenging than I was prepared for, and definitely had me sweating. We all had a really good time, and our instructor Nick was very helpful and friendly. I'd definitely recommend it.

Definitely the most fun and exciting activies I've done the city. You literally fight your friends with swords! You're going to burn some calories, you're going to sweat, and you'll probably have a bruise or two, but you'll have a whole lot of fun. I went with a group of friends and we were excited as soon as we walked in the door. When you battle each other it's only 3 minutes but it feels like forever.

This was an amazingly fun activity that I did with a few friends for a bachelor party. Our trainer, Jay, was the friendliest guy and incredibly helpful. After helping everyone get suited up in armor, he gives you training drills on attacking and defending, before you get to square up against people, 1 on 1. There are a number of different sword styles to choose from to best suit your strategy. There are fragile "crystals" on the arms, legs, and chest of your opponent - you are trying to break those while defending your own.
Let me tell you - it is EXHAUSTING! The longest round is 3min, and you will be gasping for air for sure! There are other match types - team games, lightning rounds, and 2 on 2s. Jay makes sure fun and sportsmanship are the highest priority, and everyone ends up having a great time.
I can't recommend this enough! A worthwhile trip even if you're not in the area.

Really fun time. Its essentially swordfighting as a sport, but more physical than fencing. Be prepared for some injuries in line with a game of football if you're with wild friends. Its in a sort of hard to find / run down warehouse but its not surprising since they're a small business that really started up. It was a very fun time, and I'd definitely recommend it.

Easy to set up a planned event. Everyone had a blast, and was constantly involved. Different fighting scenarios kept the experience fun and engaging. Great workout as well.

Do you want to have some fun?
Do you want to get some exercise?
Do you want to work on your core and balance, at the same time?
Do you want to blow off some steam?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions. Battleswords is the activity for you. I had a blast. The fighting was fun. I got to hit my younger brother with a sword. The people were hilarious and skilled. One of the best afternoons I have had in years!
I've been consistently attending matches at Battlesword League Philly since October of 2015 and I'm absolutely hooked. It's a great atmosphere with great people as well as an interesting vibe in music. There's absolutely no experience in sword fighting or martial arts needed and a lot of the members there are more than willing to help any newcomers who are nervous about their first time fighting.
Great place to get together with your friends and square off with swords. The guys who run this place are awesome and keep safety at the forefront of the experience.
A really one-of-a-kind experience! The guys running it were super helpful. Great community!
