May 2018 Uodate: I'm annoyed that I have found reasons to update my review, but I want people to be aware of the issues here.
First off, it is HUMID (strong emphasis on the humid) in here. If I were to guess, it's probably around 80 percent relative humidity. An absolute swamp to work out in. I guess that's fine if you like your workouts in a sauna, but it gets tiring and hard to breathe. They do have a few fans, but that does nothing to dehumidify the air and only provides very temporary relief.
Like I mentioned in my earlier review, the weight machines are very difficult to change to the weight you like, but now I noticed that some weights are actually missing. On a couple of the machines, they go from 122 lbs (thanks metric system) to 143lslbs with 133 missing in between. Not sure if the manufacturers forgot how to count or what.
Jan 2018: The machines are not nearly as nice as the ones I was used to from my college gym, but for the monthly price that I'm paying, I suppose it's adequate.
What I don't like about the machines: 1. Very hard to slide on the surface of the machine when you're sitting on it (ie the low row machine). 2. The weights are *extremely* difficult to change. I literally have to trace my finger from one side of the weight to the other side where the "switch" is. Or I get my eyes within 1' of the weights so I can see what weight the "switch" is at. Hard to explain this through text, but just know it's a pain to change weights.
Other than that, it's a nice facility with adequate variety and number of machines. Worst time to go is, of course, right when people get off work 5-6:30. You can expect to wait for way machine you would like to use, but that's TBE for the after-work rush.
Lastly, the staff is extremely friendly and I must give credit to that. I think one guy called me by my first name when I entered, and I've only been going there for about a month, so I was surprised by that.
