It's a nice facility but can be rough around the edges, the kids that are using it can also sometimes be a little rough and sometimes harass you/ say racist things. Also make sure you take off all external accessories off your bike if you lock it outside (pannier bags, seat bags, pump, water bottles, etc.) because the crowd that hangs outside will most likely take them for you!

The atmosphere is pleasing. The children r well taken care of. The pool is kinda cool though & the locker room is freezing

Very busy Y that caters to the entire family. They have exercise classes and a pool. Children aftercare programs (toddler's, grade school and high school age) etc.

Great ymca in Grad hospital section of Philadelphia. Good staff, clean facilities, reasonably priced.

Mediocre gymn. I would give less stars, but haven't foind a better gymn nearby.
Weight room is always crowded. Layout is bad which adds to the congestion at the dumbell rack. Hard to ever get a spot on the one squat rack with people sometimes doing curls in the rack.
People dont know where to put back their dumbells (labels could solve the problem)
Pool locker rooms are not clean, and an extra hour at night and an extra few hours on the weekend wuld go a long way to making it easier to exercise.
I don't use the caedio room as iI' rather run outside so no comment on that.

Asked a older male front desk staff member a question and he was very rude. He acted as if what I asked bothered him and I was ruining the rest of the evening.

The Christian Street YMCA is a very helpful and friendly place to work out, swim, conversate and to just release your mind from the everyday troubles.
I'd like this Y more if parking wasn't such a hassle. You'd have to travel by bus or park 6 blocks away in order go in.
Parking is scarce but the facilities are nice. The pool could be a bit bigger.
Floor and all machines in the weight room are dirty and dusty. Im a long-term member come here for exercise on regular basis. I don't think the maintenance staff ever clean that room. Other rooms are okay, but the weight room is neglected not taken care of. NOT recommended!

My daughter goes to their child care and it was great last year. This year it's different staff and more kids.
A great place to do things with regards to your health. YMCA provides private lessons for swimming, mostly in late afternoon and in the evening. Fitness dance with a coach, fitness facility and a basketball court.
A great place to work out in. The group exercise classes are great, as well. The staff is well mannered and extremely polite.
Nice locker rooms. They just installed new flooring. Mens locker has a few private shower stalls (clear shower curtains) and a couple "open" shower heads with direct access to the Olympic size pool. Exercise equipment is on the second floor and has all the basics. Front door staff has always been friendly and polite.

It's a very hospitable place and the staff are very polite and easy to talk to. The only downside is that children can use the "Wellness Center"(the Gym) as long as they're with an adult(and some even without). Also, occasionally people come in trying to act as personal trainers for others, I assure you that in coming to this YMCA, that is unnecessary. This YMCA has experienced gym staff, don't be shy, ask them for help if you don't know what to do or if you feel like you're doing it wrong. There is no judgment, everyone has to start somewhere, better to be in the gym struggling then lazing around at home.
