Thank God to my cousin for saving me from this croak..Joe diamond
I feel bad for all those that got scam by him. I was about to take my three kids here till my cousin told me about this supposedly contract that apparently people signed for 12 month, the worst part is you obligated to pay him whether or not you are able to make it to the class or not.
Who on earth would sign such thing. He robbing people of their hard earned money all in the name of contract in which the client have no idea of, I don't know how he lived like that. Knowing that there's is alot of unhappy costumer/clients because of him
I'm glad am not one of his victims thanks to my cousin but I do feel bad for all those who are the victim.

If what you're saying now is the truth am sure she will have taken that deal.
She is not the only I unhappy costumer, I have read other comments and they all sound alike. You told them there is no cancellation after THREE DAYS, you always response to all the complaint with the same message of how you explained everything to them in detail, and how they should called you so you can cancel the contract; yet you don't, so it's seems like you only saying that just to make it look like you care when you don't. If they are allowed to cancel with a cancellation fee am sure there wouldn't be more than 20 costumers with the same or worse complaint.

Our family came to Commando Krav Maga after going to a place in my neighborhood for a few years. My children wanted to learn standing defense and were loosing interest at our local place, who only offered jui jitsu. We are so pleased with our decision. What I love most about coming to Commando Krav Maga is the feeling of community there. Coach Lewis (kid's coach) is such a great instructor for these kids. He is sooo patient but he makes them work! It doesn't matter how many kids are in the class, he manages to keep the kids captivated. I don't know how but he manages to give all kids individual time. The kids genuinely love coming to class. They make friends and are learning so much about defense, discipline, teamwork and fitness! The owner, Mr. Diamond is kind and understanding and genuinely cares about my kids and makes sure his establishment is meeting our needs. His family program was a great investment and I see myself being a part of this community for years to come. If you are thinking about joining or signing up your kids, you won't be disappointed!

I was 1st told by one of the trainers that they have a month to month payments. However the owner Joe told me something different. I regret not readings theses reviews 1st it could have saved me from letting my son joining.

The good thing is I love the way the trainers work with the kids. The bad things about this i place is it's to far for me to going to. Being stuck in a contract that could have been avoided if I was told the truth about the month to month payments or reading the reviews.

Looks like I'll be calling the Better Business Bureau.

Starting off it was great. I've lost 40 pounds over the period of 4 months. The trainers are very high level and very helpful. The issue is with the owner. He is dishonest, unreasonable and difficult to deal with. I've made a mistake of not checking the details of the contract when I signed it. He signs people up for 12 months contracts with no way out. I don't know what type of mental basket you need to be in order to keep people in when they really want out. The owner is terrible at business and does not know how to keep clients. I've purchased a jiu jitsu gi from him. It was $100 (very much over priced) it took 3 weeks to come in and once it came in it was over sized by 3 sizes. He told me it will shrink in the laundry. I asked for a refund but you probably know the rest based on what I've said so far. You guessed right. No refund policy. I later bought a more professional gi for $60 off Amazon and received it a day later.

Ive decided to join a new gym. When I told my new trainer that I am leaving diamond MMA he said "good luck, you'll need a lawyer". And sure enough when I went in to cancel Joe the owner said exactly that. He said "sorry, you'll need a lawyer"

If you don't want to be trapped in a 12 months contract do not go to Joe. I later discovered that he does month to month payments as well. He didn't bother mentioning that to me since I was excited to join and wanted to learn more about MMA. Joe doesn't care about your learning experience. He cares about money. So whether I made the mistake of signing up or not. He is still a dishonest person. Also, when signing up he said to me "you can cancel anytime just give me 2 months in advance". You guessed right. He lied about that. And this time when I came in to cancel he said that he never said that. And that if it's not on the contract it's out of his control.

Conclusion, stay away. Terrible experience with the contracting. If you look through the other 1 star reviews you'll see that all the bad stuff that's being said is directed strictly at the owner. He is lucky to have such good staff. The only reason I stayed for a few extra months is because of the trainers. I was learning a lot and it was very interesting and challenging.

Tip for Joe: Listen buddy. If you want to make money for the long term then treat your clients and workers with respect. Do not cheat them. Because you may get an extra $400 from me. But you lost me as a client. I could have brought more money into your business. Ive even told some of my friends to join when I was just starting. Make your clients happy. Even if it means letting them cancel. You're making a bad name for yourself. Everyone know that you don't know how to run a business. Maybe just focus on coaching. You're a black belt in jiu jitsu not a business man. That's clear to see.

If i could give this a 0 star i would as well.
I found the gym through the 6 week challenge training course aimed at women's fitness and i went for my 'interview' which was really just a way to get me there and make payment, with no chance to go away and think about whether i wanted to join.

The course is open to however many people sign up, which was i was okay with, but this is not what was advertised and also had male members towards the end.
The ladies classes are only a couple of times a week, the rest are all mixed classes with a lot of men - so then increases the numbers greatly !
No photos or measurements were taken until i chased it up and on my last training day ( after the 6 weeks) no final measurements were taken, the program is not their focus, its just a way to get you through the door.
I was also not forewarned that i would have to spend a further $60 on equipment so i had to buy it from them for my first lesson

The trainers themselves are lovely but my run ins with the owner Joe would leave me to only advise to not attend this gym!

On my last day I was lead to believe i was signing up for another month but was signed up for 12, when i rang up to discuss the error ( which i believed it was) with Joe he started screaming at me down the phone (actual screaming ) and threatened me with legal action.

Not only would i not advise you to join this gym i have reported him to the better business bureau.

Its sad because the trainers are great guys but they do not make up for the aggressive owner and that the course is in no way what is advertised.

Don't get caught up in the place, its not worth the stress / money

A wonderful family environment! From kids martial arts to adult kickboxing, boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Krav Maga. The 6 week challenge is such a life changing work out. I would recommend this to anyone!

If I could give 0 stars right now, I would. While most of the instructors were great while I was there, the owner's conduct has been nothing short of despicable. He has been deceitful with the contract process, rude, dismissive and charged me for services I didn't authorize or utilize. I'm not sure how one can sleep at night conducting business this way, stealing money from a family that does not have money to burn and knowingly putting us into an extreme financial hardship. I am following up in court, but for now, I would strongly recommend to avoid doing business with him under any circumstance.

Is Joe Diamond one of the best Mix Martial Arts Academy in Philadelphia PA? Yes it is! I have been training Muay Thai and Jui Jitsu for about two months and I am planning to keep coming for a long time. What I like the most about coming here besides the different payment plans (weekly, 3 months, 6 months and one year) is the quality of the classes, the instructors' knowledge and all the new friends that I have been making in a short period of time. If you are going to pursue learning self defense, losing weight, making new friends or just getting a good workout (Muay Thai, Krav Maga, Jui Jitsu and Bootcamp) ... you will find a place right here!

I started working in the city back on July 1st of this year. I have been wanting to learn Krav Maga for several years and found Joe's school. I started the Krav Maga classes and have learned a tremendous amount in 6 months and have enjoyed all the instructors and their expertise. In addition I decided to take advantage of the Muay Thai classes and found it to not only be of the highest caliber but I lost 12 lbs and have have gotten stronger, faster and much more flexible. My friends have told me that I walk with extreme confidence and have a peace that radiates from me. Thanks Joe!!

I cannot recommend this gym enough. In my first three months I went from 240 pounds to 205 pounds. Training Martial Arts has given me a confidence that I never had before. Stick with the classes and you will surprise yourself. The instructors are super dedicated and you get a lot of personal instruction even in the group classes. I am thankful for Professor Joe Diamond and the staff.

As a combat vet I'm alway looking forward to new challenges both physically and mentally to stay combat ready. I just passed my level 3 Krav Maga test and it was no joke, but I love hard work. The instructors are a great group of guys who challenge you. Looking forward to going further at pushing myself to the brink. Highly recommended for those looking to stay in fit shape and learn the techniques to be hard to kill.

I have joined the gym at the beginning of the year after moving in USA from Europe. I have been training in Krav Maga for a few months before moving and I knew I wanted to keep up with it. Joe and the rest of the team have been absolutely amazing and joining the gym was the best decision for me. The work out and techniques were beyond my expectations. I feel comfortable and confident with the acquired skills and I enjoy very much my time in the gym in general. There are lovely people, hard training and lots of laughs which makes it the ideal way to end my day. I can definitely say its one of the highlights of my week! If you are thinking about joining, don't think anymore just DO IT and you will not regret it!

Scam. Dude tells me I can cancel my contract with 2 months notice, then when I try to cancel, he tells me there's no such thing as cancelling their contracts and that in locked in for the full year. don't trust this gym, they're in it for your money.

Excellent classes, well trained staff and large studio. Only 4 stars because they need better street/door signage and branding.
