The community of the Y has sideways been & still is of a wholehearted loving family.
The "Y" is the best for keeping fit. And if you have knee replacement the bike is a good piece of equipment to use.
I go there for chair yoga and Silver sneakers. It's a lot of fun. And almost all of my old co-workers go there too. Next I am going to start walking on the treadmill. Arlene is an excellent instructor!
YMCA excellent place to t line dancing services excellent great place to swim and to take your children easy access to transportation the equipment is clean and then instructors are patient and highly skilled
I love to run and walk, but I go the YMCA for strength training. A nice place to exercise and meet nice people
I went to the Y with my mom; she wanted to take my kids swimming before the pool closed for repairs and school start. My membership was inactive and needed to be sent back through. I understand this part was on me... I left my insurance card home... but, the cutthroat, uninformative and rude employees at the front desk simply said you need your insurance card and I'm asking questions and that was the only answer I received so, i just left frustrated and upset that I wasn't there in case my mom needed help with my 3 and 8 year old.
Terrible, expensive, nightmarish membership structures yet claimed its ymca a nonprofit. Its ceo is making over $450,000.00(Four Hundreds Fifty Thousands!!), close to half a million$$$ a year base salary with bonuses and benefits, massive retirements and pensions!! What a rip off!!

Where is Blink Fitness chain? They have Blink Fitnesses up in North and South Philly, non in the West. The chain should come to West Market St corridor!
Good place, kept clean. Too many people sit around holding up machines & benches playing on their telephones.

It's okay...They tried to remodel it some....I got spoiled by the one in VB, It was really nice...Must go to other one's in Philly

This place is by far the most discusting ever. First off why is there old azz men going into the family locker room with NO kids? How is this even allowed because there are not but 2 changing rooms and they reeked of pee and fecal dust. The gym was over crowded and ghetto. I couldnt even change into swimsuits being afraid to be stepping in pee. I missed my workout last week couldnt miss it again so i stayed did 30 then left. Dont go to this one make that travel to the one on broad or even granite run they have the best ymca ive ever seen.

I love this Y and the staff is usually very helpful.... I just wish they would do some renovations. Especially to some of the smaller bathrooms.
Great place to work out, personal trainers and staff always there to help, Olympic style pool, and basketball court.
Spin class is awesome! Zumba is awesome! I am still exploring what the Y has to offer

Nice place to work out. With a full court, indoor pool, hot tub, and a sauna. Also has new and state-of-the-art workout equipment
The building isn't as big as other YMCA I've been to but they do offer a lot. The workout room has many different types of machines to use. They just upgraded the lockers. The cleaning staff does a great job. I wish they would get some type of cable to watch while on the treadmill.
The Y allows you to do anything you want as far as exercise. Good classes are a plus. It will meet your every need.
I go to the West YMCA at least 2 times a week. I mainly go to the Silver Sneakers class. We have a great Instructor. It is Not only for older members either.
If you think this is a gym, stop! Overcrowded with both machines and people. There is absolutely no place for free body workout, secondly music/radio way too loud. You have to think of this place as a community space where people come in and chit chat, kids play etc... then it's great, staff is competent and cordial. Unfortunately I need a gym.
Ah, in the Heart of West Philly, sits this fabulous little power packed building!
I was encouraged to join the gym and walk 30 minutes a day... I was told to swim and exercise and I was referred to a few different gym's. But someone I love and trust sent me to this dyna packed Y!

Halal food trucks outside are the epitome of a healthy and happy place...

Worse ymca I have ever been to. Won't be back...very rude staff and nobody knows anything. One of the lifeguards was rude to me and my children. I had to request to speak to the swim director who was nice but new so he knew nothing. The weights and many equipment is missing.. This YMCA has declined over the last few years. On top of everything I seen a roach in the sauna

Relatively clean, relaxed, I always come with a partner in crime...just to avoid the overly flirty men.
Treadmills are usually all taken, and the showers aren't thoroughly clean. They're installing new lockers though, that should be good.
front desk service judgenental, immature, antagonizing. to much attitude. love the over all facility, especially the yoga and stretch instructors. can't get past the lack encouragement from that front desk though. I stopped going there a few times. not very welcoming there, to the men.
