This program was well thought out. The workout sessions are applicable for both the gym and at home. Easy to follow and even video demonstrations of the workouts. Through determination and hard work, this program will change your body, as well as your outlook of what is possible!

John Welborn is a very down to earth coach/trainer that will push you to be the greatest version of yourself.If you are desirous of being the healthiest you've ever been, I highly recommend him! No idea on how or what to workout/eat? He will design a plan specifically for you that will help you reach your goal.

Working with John Welborn changed my life. The knowledge I gained about what was going on in my body was priceless. It was time and money well spent at the time. I invested not only in him but in myself and in turn walked away with the body of my dreams and a friend for life.

I'm injury-prone. Seems like every time I turn around I'm falling, tripping, losing my balance etc. It's very hard for me to maintain a weight loss program or an exercise program because of this. I had an MRI done a yr ago and found that I have six compressed discs in the lumbar and thoracic region. I've been to physical therapy programs, I have hired other physical trainers. Until I met John, I really was thinking that I would end up being on pain medications and just have to accept where I'm at. John showed me that he could change that outlook for me by helping me become a stronger person and that's exactly what he's doing. In just 3 months that I've training with him, I have not had one fall, one trip or lost my balance. My outlook for future goals is stronger now than ever. John genuinely cares about what he's doing with his clients. he listens and when you're not having a good day he pushes you even harder because he knows that you can do it! he's very upbeat, extremely knowledgeable. You cannot fail when you're working with him, unless you quit. What he's done for me, I can't express enough, how grateful I am, thank you John!!

A Safe Place to Transform Your Body. John Welborn Fitness is a great place to workout and begin the process of transforming your body. I signed up for 12 weeks of personal training with John. I'm about ten weeks in and I'm probably three to five times stronger (if not more) than when I walked in the door. I think the other day I did something crazy like 27 sets of leg exercises in 50 minutes (and I didn't whine about it at all). He's a great guy, super compassionate, and really enjoyable to work with. If you're in the Fairview, Gresham or East Portland area, definitely check him out. So much better than any big box gym and the results are incredible.

I found John through facebook and decided to give his gym a try after seeing all the positive feedback from his clients. I have been working out with John for 6 weeks and I am seeing results I never would have achieved on my own. John's workouts are always new and targeting different muscle groups. He has helped me with nutrition and given me the tools to be successful with my fitness goals. He is always encouraging me to work harder and motivating me to be the best I can be. John is willing to put in the hard work to help if you are also willing to put in the hard work to be successful. It's not easy, but it is worth it! I now look forward to going to the gym to get a good workout in.

Very motivating and supportive! Small groups. John always customizes the training to everyone and make sure everyone is pushing their limit but not hurting themselves. Lots of other resources on how to eat healthy and smart fat loss. Definitely will recommend to my friends!

I Completed a 6 week challenge and feel great! I'm seeing the results that I've long awaited for and that was to feel better in mind and body. I no longer say "I can't"! and now tell myself to "try"! Excellent service and a great motivator! Works with you and meets you where you are. Offers a variety of workouts. He is well trained in what he does and understands health beyond losing numbers on the scale. Also great in the community and offers single moms the opportunity to bring their kids! So great! Well worth your time and commitment!

Closing in on my 6 week challenge with John Welborn Fitness (JWF) and Staff. I've met some amazing people over these 6 weeks and appreciate the kick start of living a healthier lifestyle and doing some exercises which I thought I'd never be able to do. The gym is small but effective; John and the Staff push you but modify the stretch or exercise to your limitations. If you're local and looking for a quick start way to getting healthier, highly recommend JWF. You get to work out with all types of people of different ages and backgrounds. However, one concerning issue was when clients were allowed to bring their children which in my opinion is not safe or they may have brought a friend which can seem like an audience. Be prepared to post your measurements on a board for all to see. You also will be using equipment in a circuit fashion, so if you go after the person with heavy sweat...be prepared. If any of this makes you uncomfortable, don't sign up or ask for one on one sessions. Read your contract, ask questions and know what you are signing. John and Matt are very knowledgeable and will challenge you to do things you didn't think you could. But YOU have to work at it and make the right decisions for YOU. If you're ready to commit to YOU, then sign on the dotted line and get it DONE.

John creates an inviting and fun environment. I was saddened that I would not be able to work with him this summer but look forward to being able to work with him in the future. He is responsible and willing to work with you on payments. He is definitely looking out for you and getting you were you want to be. If you have special conditions he is unfamiliar with he will find someone who can assist. You can tell he genuinely wants to help you reach your goals as long as you put in the work.

John surpasses all my expectations of a fitness coach. Not only does he motivate me to want to push myself everyday, but he gives me the foundations to do it successfully. John is upbeat, caring, compassionate, energetic, and strives to make your goals his top priority. If you're someone who is struggling to reach their fitness goals, doesn't know where to start, or you just need a fresh start, John is the person who can help!

John is an expectional personal trainer. His knowledge in nutrition and fitness is mind blowing! I have learned so much from him. The passion he has for his work really shows through! He is so invested into each and everyone of his clients. Your goals are his goals. Your concerns are his concerns. He is not only a coach to his clients...he is also a friend!

I'm a veteran who got injured in Afghanistan and before I met John I had accepted that I wouldn't be running or physically training anymore which was a large part of my self confidence and lifestyle. Meeting John was a life changing event for me as he has helped me develop and has shown me that what I thought I had lost was merely obscured by my injuries. I will forever be thankful for that.

Where to even start?! Well I met John through my nutritionist that I had only been working with a couple weeks. I went to an open gym for free that John was putting on; I had every excuse not to go, but I pushed myself and went. Best decision I have ever made!! I have done so many fad workouts, diets, worked with a few trainers, but nothing has compared to the knowledge and passion that John has for health, fitness and especially his clients!! Now why did it stick this time and not the others, especially when my biggest excuse is being a single parent who can't get to the gym? I whole heartedly believe that John has played a huge part in why I'm not quitting and have stomped on all my excuses! I'm only about two months in, but I still get excited daily for my workouts and wonder what he's got up his sleeve next! Just when you think the workouts can't push you any farther, oh you just wait!! I still look at John sometimes like he's nuts if he thinks I can lift that much weight with one arm or do a certain exercise. But ever since I have put my full trust in him with my fitness journey and goals, I believe more in myself and don't question him anymore (still give him crazy looks of course though lol). He will not let you give up on yourself or validate any of your illegitimate excuses! My biggest excuse is not being able to get to the gym because I'm a single parent who is unable to go with me. Well John squashed that excuse fast and allows my son to come with me! Which made my mama heart smile as now my son gets to be apart of my motivation and lifestyle. John is one of the most positive and motivational people I have met in my life. He remembers all the little things about his clients and caters to each one of us during a group workout so that we each get the most out of it while making sure any previous injuries we may have are not injured further. And the positive encouragement and feedback each one of us receives during the workouts, just pushes us all to keep going and to not stop even when our mind is trying to convince us otherwise. I'm not sure where I'm at after two months as I'm not doing a weigh in or measurements for another week (will update), but I can tell y'all this: my clothes fit better, I'm happier, I'm more positive towards life and myself, I'm more motivated than ever to reach my goals and stick with em, and have found the best fit fam that God could have ever blessed me with! Thanks Coach John! Words will never be able to express how grateful I am for you and what you do!

John Welborn has been my trainer for over 3 years. With his overwhelming knowledge of nutrition, strength training and human behavior, I have lost 70 lbs, maintained my weight loss for over two years, and become healthier and stronger than I've been in 40 years. He pushes me to be the best version of me I can be. Every time I reach a goal, he's there to help me set a new goal. I'm on a never ending journey and he's right by my side every step of the way. He's always available to answer questions, cheer for my successes and help me up when I stumble and fall. I'm always learning something new. I wish I had made the decision to work with him earlier. I;m so happy with my transformation. Not only physical transformation but mental transformation. Thank you Coach John! You've changed my life!
